The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of High-School student's peer attachment on self-differentiation and interpersonal relations problems in adolescence.
To accomplish the purpose of this study, the hypothesis of this study were established as follows;
1. There will be correlation between interpersonal relations problems of the high school students and the self-differentiation level as well as the peer attachment
2. There will be difference in the peer attachment and self- differentiation according to sex.
3. There will be difference in interpersonal relations problems according to the self-differentiation level and the peer attachment level.
4. There will be affection in interpersonal relations problems as the self differentiation and the peer attachment.
The subjects of the study were 520 students attending high school in Daegu City. Instruments used for this study were the Peer-Attachment Scale(Armsden&Greenberg,1987). Self differentiation was measured through the Korean version of "Self Differentiation Scale"(Je, 1989). The dependent variable of adolescent's interpersonal problems was measured through the Inventory of Interpersonal Problem(Alden, 1990).
The data were analyzed by correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, variable analysis processed by SAS VER 8.01
The result were as follows;
1. Interpersonal problems of the high school students prove to have difference according to sex as a result of t-test.
2. There is close correlation between interpersonal problems and the peer attachment level as well as the self- differentiation level.
3. Interpersonal problems is affected by the peer attachment, self-synthesis, emotional faculty, emotional cutoff as the result of stepwise regression analysis.
