농학생의 단어재인 과정과 음운인식 특성 및 음운인식과 독해력과의 관계 = Word recognition process and phonological awareness characteristic and relation between phonological awareness and reading comprehension of deaf students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 농학생의 단어재인 과정 분석을 통해 단어재인 방법의 논쟁에 대한 하나의 대안을 제시하고, 농학생의 음운인식의 특성을 확인하고, 음운인식 능력과 읽기능력 간의 관계를 밝히기 위해 실시되었다.
연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 농학생의 한글 단어재인 과정은 음운재부호화를 통해 이루어진다는 확실한 증거가 없으며, 한글 단어재인 과정에서 표기부호는 음운부호 만큼 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 이 결과는 한글 단어재인 과정에서 음운재부호화 가설이나 이중경로 가설 중 어떤 모형으로도 한글 단어재인 과정을 명확하게 설명하기 어려우며, 한글 단어재인 과정에서 두 모형이 상호 보완적으로 작용함을 나타낸다.
둘째, 농 중․고등부 학생의 음운인식 능력은 약 83% 수준으로 독해력 수준이 비슷한 가청 초등 3학년 학생보다 높았다. 이는 농학생이 음운정보에 대한 접근이 매우 제한되어 있으나, 음운인식 능력은 높은 수준까지 발달함을 나타낸다.
셋째, 농학생의 음운인식과 독해력 간에 정적인 상관관계가 있었다. 특히 음절체-운모수준과 음소수준의 음운인식 능력이 독해력과 상관관계가 있었다. 이 결과는 농학생의 읽기지도를 위해 음운인식 교육이 필요함을 나타낸다.
