만 5세 자녀를 둔 부모의 사회․인구학적 배경과 아버지의 양육참여도 및 어머니의 양육스트레스 간의 관계 = The Relationships between 5 Year-old Preschooler Parent's Social Economic Status and Father's Parenting Involvement and Mother's Parenting Stress

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between preschooler parent's social economic status and father's parenting involvement and mother's parenting stress. The subjects were 216 parents with 5 year-old children from kindergartens and day-care centers located in Seoul-Ci and Gyeonggi-Do.
Findings were as follows. First, mean score of fathers' parenting involvement was a little higher than average and mean score of mothers' parenting stress was a little lower than average. There were significant differences of fathers' levels of parenting involvement according to their educational backgrounds and home total monthly income respectively. There was a significant difference of mothers' parenting stress according to their husbands' educational backgrounds. Second, there were significant differences of mothers' parenting stress according to fathers' levels of parenting involvement. Third, mothers' parenting stress was significantly influenced by three factors: father's level of education, mother's level of education and home total monthly income in the first and second steps of the hierarchicalmultiple regression respectively. But mothers' total parenting stress was significantly influenced by one factor(R2= .22.8): fathers' 'guiding of the life'(β=-.280, P<.05) which was a sub-scale of father's parenting involvement in the third step of the hierarchical multiple regression analysis. In conclusion, it is necessary to encourage fathers' parenting involvement in and out of the home to reduce mothers' parenting stress.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 만 5세 자녀를 둔 부모의 사회․인구학적 배경과 아버지의 양육참여도 및 어머니의 양육스트레스 간의 관계를 종합적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울․경기지역에 소재한 9개 유아교육기관의 만 5세 유아의 어머니와 아버지 216쌍이었다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지 양육참여도는 5점 만점에 평균 3.29로 약간 높았고 어머니의 양육스트레스는 5점 만점에 평균 2.24로 약간 낮았다. 또한 아버지 교육수준이 높을수록 양육참여도가 높았으며, 가정의 월 소득이 높을수록 아버지 양육참여도가 높아졌고, 아버지 교육수준이 높을수록 어머니의 양육스트레스가 낮아졌다. 둘째, 아버지의 양육참여도가 높아질수록 어머니의 양육스트레스가 낮아졌다. 셋째, 부모의 사회․인구학적 배경과 아버지의 양육참여도가 어머니 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향력을 규명하기 위한 위계적 회귀분석 3단계까지의 결과, 아버지 양육참여도 중 생활지도 변인만이 가장 강력한 영향력을 보였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 어머니 양육스트레스 경감을 위해서는 아버지 생활지도형 양육참여를 격려하고 이에 대한 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.
