중학생의 학업스트레스와 자살사고간 관계에서 인지왜곡이 가지는 조절효과 = Cognitive Distortions as a moderator on the Relationship between Educational Stress and Suicidal Ideation among Middle School Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the effect of educational stress on increasing suicidal ideation among middle school students and examined the effects of cognitive distortion as a moderating variable in order to provide fundamental information for intervention methods for decreasing suicidal ideation. Self-reported questionnaire surveys were conducted among middle schoolers in the areas of Seoul and Inchon. Total 549 questionnaires were included for multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: First, higher educational stress was found to be associated with more suicidal ideation. Second, more cognitive distortion was associated with more suicidal ideation. Third, the level of cognitive distortion had a positive moderating effect on the relationship between academic stress and suicidal ideation. That is, the level of educational stress has significantly stronger effects on suicidal ideation among those with higher cognitive distortion, compared to those with lower cognitive distortion. These findings imply that specialized intervention and policy efforts as intervention methods for decreasing suicidal ideation are needed to decrease academic stress and cognitive distortion.
