최인훈 희곡 <한스와 그레텔>의 동화 수용과 형상화 양상 = The fairy-tale acceptance and embodiment aspect of Choi Inhoon's play Hans and Gretel

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Choi Inhoon perceived the problem of the 2nd World War as the contradiction of idea and these collision in Hans and Gretel and structured it's problem. He put into the play, the intention which would reconsider the world history as combining personal experiences and historical events. He established Hans, a subject of play, into 'Rudolf Hess' existing realistically in history, thus confirmed the validity, and brought up the situation with which Germany faces into the recognition problem of world.
Hans and Gretel accepted the characteristic attribute of the fairy-tale Hansel and Gretel as the figurative meaning. The witch's woods and the space called jail were accepted to have the common attribute. It has figured the witch's woods as jail and Hitler's ideology tower. A liveried Hans has expressed as the distorted personage of belief by being fascinated at Hitler's idea. This was the one that criticize the uncertainty and fiction of belief, showed the belief builded on Holocaust.
Choi Inhoon devised the historical events inside the frame which the attribute of fairy tale is accepted, and structured the ideology's collision and the contradictory act . He emphasized the problem of mutual communication and severance caused by the dichotomy world to well dispose ideology's collision. The war, death and press, caused by the dichotomy system of world history, were exposed through Han's personal life history.
He showed as the figured world, the national nationalism violence revealed as Hitler's idea through Han's reminiscences, the communistic hypocrisy reveled through father and Scottman, and the avarice capitalistic history reveled through Hebrew.
In the point of that Choi Inhoon's play used the figurative technique borrowed from original play, It was discussed that Hans and Gretel accepted the realistic division of Korea as a similar attribute. The similarity of Germany and Korea is the point that they suffered the division as war and ideology. It could be said that Korea in world history was sacrifice nation, and this paper is to recognize this problems. In addition, Hans and 'non-convert' is the same meaning, and the violence and the loss has been shown through Hans, and thus He is asking human values more than historical facts or truth.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 최인훈이 희곡 <한스와 그레텔>에 독일 동화 <헨젤과 그레텔>을 수용하여 이를 변용시켰다는 점에서 동화 수용 방식을 찾고 이를 통해 극에 형상화 된 서사 의도와 극작 전략을 살피고자 하였다. 극에는 동화의 특정 속성인 마녀의 숲이 비유적으로 수용되었으며, 에필로그에 담긴 상징적 이미지는 극의 서사 의도를 암시하였다. 극은 한스의 경험을 토대로 제2차 세계대전의 비극적 역사를 이념의 충돌로 담고 있었다. 감옥을 공간적 배경으로 세상과의 단절이 강조되었으며, 인물들의 대결구도를 통해서 이분법적 세계가 가진 모순을 고발하고 있었다. 또한 한스가 회상하는 구도는 한스와 관계된 인물들을 통해 이념의 역사가 모순을 가지고 서로 충돌하고 있음을 담고 있었다. 이렇게 이념의 충돌이 가져온 모순의 역사에서 한국의 비극적 현실을 읽을 수 있었다. 한국의 분단현실이 이념에 의한 희생의 역사였음을 드러내고자 한 작가의 의도라 할 수 있다. 최인훈은 극에 역사적 진실보다는 역사가 어떤 모순으로 굴절되었는가를 보이고자 하였으며, 굴절된 역사에 희생된 인간의 가치를 재고하고자 하였다.
