3년제 유아교육과 신입생들의 대학생활 적응 과정의 어려움 = Difficulties of Freshmen in the Course of Adaptation in Early Childhood Education in Three Year College

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As a purpose for understanding the difficulties which freshmen in early childhood education department in three year college might have adjusting themselves to university life, this study is designed to analyze qualitatively the characters of difficulties which freshmen experience due to the uniqueness of early childhood education.
Participants of this study carried out from March.2007 to September.2007 are 5 freshmen of childhood education department of B university located in A city. Data were collected through their journals, in-depth interviews, e-mails, many kinds of papers and field notes.
According to analyzed results from collected information, it is shown that freshmen in the childhood education department tend to feel confused substantially in the process of transference from high school students instructed in detail what they have to do to college students who have their own rights of decision about what they should do. It is also shown that many students have hard time personally or socially adapting to unique curriculum that requires versatile talents and ideal qualities which teachers involved in childhood education are expected to have.
Through the result of this study, we have come to the conclusion that we need to find and pay attention to difficulties they undergo as college students and pre-kindergarten teachers who take the first step in establishing their own egos as pre-educators. Moreover, the investors need to feel a duty for seeking concrete plans which put a priority on humanistic solicitude so that students can adjust themselves to new education system, teacher training course, multiple human relations, and selves as pre-kindergarten teachers.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 3년제 유아교육과 신입생들의 대학생활 적응 과정의 어려움들을 이해하기 위해 신입생들이 대학생으로서 겪는 어려움과 ‘유아교육과’의 독특성으로 인하여 경험하는 어려움의 특성에 대하여 질적 분석하였다. 2007년 3월부터 9월까지 7개월 동안 A광역시에 위치한 3년제 B대학에 다니고 있는 유아교육과 신입생 5명을 연구 참여자로 하여 저널, 심층 면담, e-mail, 각종 문서, 그리고 현장 노트를 통해 자료를 수집하였다.
수집한 자료를 분석한 결과 3년제 유아교육과 신입생들은 세부적인 생활과정에 대해 안내받던 고등학교 생활에서 자율성이 맡겨지는 대학생으로의 전이과정 속에서 갑작스런 혼란을 느끼고, 다재다능한 능력과 이상적인 유아교사 자질을 요구하는 유아교육과 만의 독특한 교육과정에 적응하기 위해 개인적, 사회적 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 분석 결과를 통해 대학생으로서, 그리고 예비교사로서 자아 형성을 위한 출발선에 발을 내딛는 신입생들이 겪고 있는 어려움들의 의미를 찾고, 그들이 새로운 교육 체제와 예비 유아교사 양성 과정, 다양한 인간관계, 그리고 예비 유아 교사로서의 자아에 적응해갈 수 있도록 보다 인간적 배려가 기초가 된 교육적 지원 방안에 대한 구체적인 모색이 필요하겠다.
