중증·중복 뇌병변장애 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육 어려움과 요구 = A Discussion of Difficulties and Needs Felt by Mothers Who Have Children with Severe / Multiple Brain Lesions

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중증·중복 뇌병변장애 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 경험에 따른 어려움과 그에 따른 요구를 알아보고자 시행되었다. 이를 위해 현재 서울지역의 중증·중복 뇌병 변장애 자녀를 둔 10명의 어머니를 대상으로 심층 면담하였다. 본 연구결과 어머니들이 경험하는 양육 어려움은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 참여자들은 중증·중복 뇌병변장애인을 바라보는 사회적 인식으로 인해 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 둘째, 연구 참여자들은 장애인을 위한 사회적 지원 제도가 균형적으로 적용이 안 되어 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 셋째, 연구 참여자들은 중증·중복 뇌병변장애 자녀 돌봄에 따른 일상생활의 어려움과 가정 경제의 어려움을 호소하였다. 연구 참여 어머니들의 요구로는 첫째, 중증·중복 뇌병변장애인에 대한 사회적 인식 개선이 필요하다고 하였다. 둘째, 중증·중복 뇌병변장애인을 위한 사회적 지원제도의 형평성 개선이 필요하다고 하였다. 셋째, 연구 참여자들은 중증·중복 뇌병변장애 자녀 돌봄에 필요한 지원이 확대되어야 한다고 하였다. 이상과 같은 연구 결과는 중증·중복 뇌병변장애인을 위한 바람직한 정책의 방향을 제시하는데 기초가 될 것으로 사료된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the present study was to understand difficulties and needs of mothers who had children with severe/multiple brain lesions to improve policies related to them. The in-depth interviews were conducted with ten mothers who had children with severe/multiple brain lesion in Seoul. The results were as follows; (1) the study participants experienced difficulties caused by social attitudes towards people with severe/multiple brain lesions. (2) the study participants experienced difficulties caused by the social support system for people with severe/multiple brain lesions. Moreover, the study participants expressed difficulties in accordance with raising children with severe/multiple brain lesions. (3) the study participants appealed the difficulties of domestic economy in accordance with raising children with severe/multiple brain lesions. In terms of needs of mothers who had children with severe/multiple brain lesions, the study participants mentioned that the social attitude towards severe/multiple brain lesions should be improved. Next, the study participants expressed that the social support system for people with severe/multiple brain lesions should be improved toward the advisable direction. Furthermore, the study participants thought that the administrative and financial supports for raising should be provided to help parents who had children with severe/multiple brain lesions. The study results as above are expected to have positive effects on showing the advisable direction of policies for people with severe/multiple brain lesions.
