무용수의 정서지능이 직무만족 및 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 = Differences in Emotional Intelligence among Dancers and the Influence of Emotional Intelligence on Organizational Effectiveness

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to explore the differences in emotional intelligence among dancers and the influence of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Five abilities - self awareness, social awareness, emotional expression, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation - are used to measure emotional intelligence. The paper compares the results of this emotional intelligence scale based on general characteristics. Then, questions on job satisfaction and organizational commitment are provided to study how emotional intelligence affect these elements. The surveys used for the scale were conducted to 250 dancers who are working as professional dancers in dance companies and/or are dance majors with stage performance experience. Except for the 14 questionnaires with insufficient responses, 236 questionnaires were used for the analysis. The analysis revealed that there is no difference in emotional intelligence abilities among the dancers based on their general characteristics. Meanwhile, job satisfaction was influenced by self awareness, emotional expression, and emotional regulation while organizational commitment was affected by emotional expression, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. In particular, the higher the level of emotional expression, the higher the degree of job satisfaction and that of organizational commitment. The results of this paper suggests that enhancing dancers`organizational commitment and job satisfaction requires strategies to develop their emotional intelligence. This further notes the significance of developing emotional intelligence-based education programs.
