자아표현 도구로서의 자아이미지 언어 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 인간중심 디자인 연구의 필요성을 바탕으로 색채 기반의 자아표현 도구로서 자아이미지와 자아이미지 언어에 대한 실험연구로 이루어졌다. 자아표현은 색채를 활용한 자기표현을 시작으로 어휘 분석을 거쳐 시각적 이미지로 구체화되는 특징이 있다. 본 연구에서는 자아표현 도구로서 색채와 연계한 언어의 특징을 살펴보고 색채를 기반으로 한 자아이미지 언어를 수집하였다. 연구 방법으로는 제임스(William James)의 자아이론을 문헌 고찰하고 실험연구를 통해 자아이미지 언어를 수집하였다. 결과로 본 실험연구에서 87개의 어휘가 수집되었고, 선행연구 어휘 10종을 포함하여 총 99개의 어휘가 수집되었다. 자아이미지 구성 요소는 4가지로 사회성, 정서, 신체, 능력으로 분류되었다. 각 자아 요소에 따른 표현 어휘의 특징은 성격 및 행동 관련 어휘, 감정, 심리 관련 어휘, 외모, 이미지 및 건강관련 어휘, 학업, 진로 관련 어휘이다. 자아이미지 언어는 색채를 기반으로 한 디자인 과정에서 외부와의 커뮤니케이션 도구로서 활용 가능하다. 본 연구의 결과는 청소년의 자아이미지 표현과정에 있어서 색채와 어휘는 중요한 요소임을 시사한다. 또한 색채기반의 자아표현은 언어와 연계할 때 커뮤니케이션 하게 되며 나아가서 긍정적인 자아를 형성하는데 기여할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is about self-image, self-image languages based on colors and human centered design research. It was done with the experimental research for self-image languages using colors and languages as a tool. This self-image begins with a unique self representation of color expression and through language analyses it creates an image of self-expression. It is then concreted with visual elements. We first researched self-image languages related to colors and collected those languages. For this study, William James" literature theory was studied and acquired self image language through experimental research. As a result of this experiment, we collected 87 languages of self-image from teenaged students and were recommended an additional 99 self-image languages. The 4 components of self-image are classified as social, emotional, physical and ability. These components express the vocabulary features to include behavioral characteristics & activities, emotions & psychology, image & health and education & career. Self-image languages would be useful for communication in the self-image design process. These languages will be based on the design process that will be created to be utilized as visual communication tools. Colors and languages are very important elements in self-expression. Applying self-image languages will be beneficial in designing educational programs based on the student’s personality and creative abilities. Especially color based self expression can help the student find their personal identity and self-formation. Communication occurs when color based self-expression is combined with self-image languages, which will contribute to the formation of a positive self-identity.
