고등학교 경제교육이 학생들의 소비자윤리형성에 미치는 영향 = Effect of High School Economic Education on the Students' Consumer Ethics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The principal objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the curriculum of high school economic education in relation to students'consumer ethics. In doing so, we conducted in-depth interviews for 20 high school students selected from three different educational districts in Seoul, South Korea. Analyzing the data using Strauss and Corbin(1990)'s grounded theory approach, we conclude three research findings. First, most students recognize importance of the economic knowledge, but they tend to believe that the current curriculums and pedagogical methods are ineffective to improve their economic knowledge. Second, socio-economic status of parents are strongly associated with the acquisition of economic knowledge by students. Third, students' levels of economic knowledge are strongly related to their awareness of consumer ethics. Considering all of these research findings, we suggest that economic ethics section should be reinforced in the high school economic education curriculum.
