Determinants of Effecting Customer Loyalty : Comparison among Korean, Japanese and Chinese Online Game Market

        이상철,상균영,구자철,서영호,Lee, Sang-Chul,Xiang, Jun-Yong,Gu, Ja-Chul,Suh, Yung-Ho The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 2006 經營 科學 Vol.23 No.2

The purposes of this research are to identify causalities among flow and customer loyalty In Chinese online games, and to identify the factors by which flow are influenced. This research tests the model with Chinese on-line game users and compare this result with Korea and Japanese results which were conducted by Lee's research. These implications are thought to be helpful for Korean online game companies to understand the Chinese online game user and to develop the penetration strategies. The results indicated that significant Path coefficients to flow were the convenience of operator, the provision of information, the reality of design. The results indicated that significant path coefficients to customer loyalty were the involvement of virtual community and flow. The involvement of virtual community to flow was not significant but to customer loyalty was significant. The provision of information was negatively influenced on flow. The result of comparison indicated that the path coefficients were different among nations. Korea online game companies need to develop the indigenized online game and to Provide the information to their Chinese partner correctly and quickly.

Commercial Aspects of Ubiquitous Contents Access Technologies : User Perspective Analysis using QFD

        한현수,박은영,김광용,박선영,Han, Hyun-Soo,Park, Eun-Young,Kim, Kwang-Yong,Park, Sun-Young The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 2006 經營 科學 Vol.23 No.2

In this paper, we investigated economic viability of UCA (Ubiquitous Contents Access) technologies from user adoption perspective. UCA technologies are expected to 9et embedded into media and telecom merging services. Embracing new technologies such as UCA technologies, forged through an industry convergence, means opting for a technological innovation that will have technological as well as economic and strategic implications. As such, we adopted user perspective innovation adoption theories to explore key antecedents affecting consumer acceptance of these emerging technologies. Subsequently. using QFD (Quality Function Deployment) method, the impacts of UCA technical functions on user's perceived value enhancements are estimated. The QFD analysis result indicates that the new UCA service technologies could achieve about 42% enhancement on user perceived adoption intention compared to existing digital contents service technologies. The proposed analysis framework and findings suggests significant insights for further research.

An Algorithm for the Graph Disconnection Problem

Myung Young-Soo,Kim Hyun-joon The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 2005 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.11 No.1

We consider the graph disconnection problem, which is to find a set of edges such that the total cost of destroying the edges is no more than a given budget and the weight of nodes disconnected from a designated source by destroying the edges is maximized. The problem is known to be NP-hard. We present an integer programming formulation for the problem and develop an algorithm that includes a preprocessing procedure for reducing the problem size, a heuristic for providing a lower bound, and a cutting plane algorithm for obtaining an upper bound. Computational results for evaluating the performance of the proposed algorithm are also presented.

Selection of Assembly Sequences Based on Flexible Assembly Systems Performance

Jeong, Bong-Ju The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 1995 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.1 No.1

In planning an assembly system, choosing the proper assembly sequence is one of the most important decisions because it significantly affects the costs associated with the assembly process. This paper deals with the selection of assembly sequences in flexible assembly systems. The selection criterion is the minimization of makespan to complete all assembly products. This problem is formulated as a "modified FAS scheduling problem" (MFASSP) and its scheduling procedure is described. The experimental results show that the procedure is very efficient for both quality of solution and computation time.

Developing an Efficient Promotion Strategy for a Multi-Product Retail Store : A Bayesian Network Application

김범수,Kim, Bumsoo The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 2017 經營 科學 Vol.34 No.2

This paper considers a Bayesian Network analysis for understanding the heterogeneous cross-category effects of different promotion activities and developing an efficient overall promotion strategy for a large retail store. More specifically we differentiate price reduction promotion and floor promotion and study their heterogeneous effect on consumer purchase behavior under a market basket setting. We then utilize Bayesian networks in identifying complex association structure in market basket dataset by analyzing the effects of different promotional activities and also include the effects of time, family income and size. We find from our Bayesian network analysis that the dominant cross-category promotion effect of price promotion is the indirect effect whereas the dominant cross-category promotion effect of floor promotion is the direct effect. Also, among the demographic variables we find that family size of the household is linked with more product categories compared to income and see that there are differences in the extent of the effects by product category. Finally, we also show the existence of products acting as a network hub and how they can be utilized by retailers faced with a limited marketing budget and suggest a more efficient promotion strategy.

An Experimental Examination of Customer Preferences on Mobile Interfaces

        백승익,조민,김봉준,Baek, Seung-Ik,Cho, Min,Kim, Bong-Jun The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 2006 經營 科學 Vol.23 No.3

Designing mobile Interfaces is fundamentally different from designing online interfaces. Not only are there differences in underlying technologies, but also in the way people use mobile Interfaces. If these differences are not taken into account in designing mobile interfaces, mobile services are likely to fail. If mobile services do not deliver what people want, these services will fail no matter how excellent the underlying technology is. The user interface design commonly used in mobile services is based on multi-layered approach, which is not very user-friendly. A well designed single layered user Interface will be more user friendly than the conventional one and it will be having edge over others. However, it is quite difficult to Provide a single layered user Interface in a small screen. This study aims at examining how design attributes of mobile interfaces affect customer preferences. In order to explore customer preferences to each design attribute of mobile interfaces, we measure and analyze customer's WTP (Willingness To Pay) toward their different interface designs. Ultimately, throughout the study, we try to answer how to design mobile interfaces in small screen of mobile devices. In addition, we propose an optimal design solution that customers likely prefer.

SCM Strategy and Best Practices Implementation in SMEs

김대수,Kim Dae-Soo The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 2006 經營 科學 Vol.23 No.1

Over the last decade, the field of supply chain management (SCM) and e-business has received an enormous amount of attention from practitioners and academicians. However, little has been known about how and to what extent small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are implementing SCM initiatives and e-business practices. This paper proposes a comprehensive research model and presents the survey results of these practices of SMEs located in Wisconsin and illinois, U.S., In terms of competitive strategy and priority, value chain activity priority, supply chain and e-business integration focus, SCM best practices implementation focus and challenges, and business performance. The analysis reveals several valuable insights into how SMEs should run their businesses in today's volatile, rapidly changing customer economy.

A Note on the Optimum Character of One-Sided Sequential Probability Ratio Tests

Abel, Volker The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 1984 韓國經營科學會誌 Vol.9 No.2

We Observe a sequence of i. i. d random variables with density f or g. Only if g is true we should stop the process. Hence. the testing problem is completely described by a stopping time. Among all stopping times with error probability of first kind not exceeding a given bound, the one-sided sequential probability ratio test has smallest expected sample size if g is true. Moreover, the generalized one-sided SPRT has smallest expected sample size for g in the class of stopping times with expected sample size under f not falling below a given bound.

A Multiproduct Facility-in-Series Production Planning Model

Sung, C.S. The Korean Operations Research and Management Scie 1984 韓國經營科學會誌 Vol.9 No.2

A deterministic multiproduct, facility-in series multiperiod production planning model is analyzed, where each period demand for the product of a facility appear in a fixed proportion of that for the product of the immediately following facility. The model considers concave production and inventory costs, which can depend upon the production in different facilities. No backlogging is allowed. It is shown that the model is represented via a single source network, which facilitates development of efficient dynamic programming algorithms for computing the optimal production schedule.
