Zineb Nabih,Latifa Amiar,Zakaria Abidli,Maria Windy,Abdelmajid Soulaymani,Abdelrhani Mokhtari,Rachida Soulaymani-Bencheikh 한국역학회 2017 Epidemiology and Health Vol.39 No.-
OBJECTIVES: To determine the epidemiological profile and risk factors of voluntary poisoning by pesticides. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted of all cases of voluntary poisoning by pesticides registered at the Anti-Poison and Pharmacovigilance Center of Morocco between January 2008 and December 2014. RESULTS: During the study period, 2,690 cases of acute pesticide poisoning were registered. The region of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer accounted for the largest proportion, with 598 cases. The average age of the patients was 24.63±10.29 years. The sex ratio (female-to-male) was 0.45. Adults and teenagers were most affected by this type of poisoning, with 1,667 cases (62.0%) and 806 cases (30.0%), respectively. Suicide attempts accounted for 98.4% of the cases (2,469 cases). Pesticide poisoning occurred more often in urban zones (64.8%). Insecticides were incriminated in 14.0% of cases, with a mortality rate of 4.2%. Among the 1,635 patients for whom the outcomes were known, 154 died, corresponding to a mortality rate of 5.7%. CONCLUSIONS: Voluntary intoxication by pesticides presents a real scourge that affects public health, and in this study, we developed an epidemiological profile of this phenomenon. Nevertheless, this study has limitations in that it did not evaluate the impact of the socioeconomic and psychological factors that are important contributors to this type of poisoning.
Test-Time Neural Style Transfer Augmentation For Polyp Classification
Zineb Tissir,Sang-Woong Lee 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 2022 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 학술대회 Vol.2022 No.10
Data augmentation has been employed in neural networks for building robust models, not exclusively in the training phase but also in the testing stage, where the predictions of every transformed image are aggregated to a greater lustiness and upgraded accuracy. Furthermore, deep learning approaches applied in data augmentation, namely adversarial training, GANs, and Neural Style Transfer were applied while training the models, neither while testing them. In this work, we present a study of applying test-time Neural Style Transfer transformation in medical images as a method of augmentation in test time. Besides, we display the experiment's results of a classification task. Results reveal that the synthesized samples employed as modified images in the test time significantly improved the performance of the classification model.

To address the increasing demand for clean electrical energy, renewable energy technologies that generate power for microgrids have become a promising solution. The number of distributed generators connected to microgrids have been dramatically increased. Microgrids were first proposed as a solution for islanded and isolated systems. However, microgrids have the ability to operate autonomously, unlike conventional power grids. In this paper, a control system is proposed for microgrids that use a photovoltaic (PV) energy source and batteries, which are responsible for energy storage. An energy management strategy (EMS) is provided to stabilize the direct current (DC) bus voltage in the case of photovoltaic power fluctuation or load variation. This paper also proposes the sizing of PV panels and batteries to give the number of batteries and photovoltaic panels connected in series and in parallel. This proposed sizing system is based on different parameters, such as the losses from the installation of batteries as well as the maximum and minimum state of charge. Simulation results demonstrates that the proposed EMS and sizing of photovoltaic panels and batteries is able to respond to load demands. A comparison of different configurations is also made to determinate the optimum technology in terms of low cost and small PV field surface.

The present work aims to study the induction of somatic embryogenesis in cork oak (Quercus suber L.) from immature zygotic embryos and young apical leaves obtained from 2-month-old seedlings through acorn germination on sterilized peat. The immature zygotic embryos were grown for 1 month on the mineral solution of MS in the presence of 4.52 μM 2,4-D and 30 g/L sucrose. They were then transferred to the same mineral solution with no added growth regulators. In the third subculture, yellow somatic embryos, characterized by two voluminous cotyledons, were differentiated from the radicle of the immature zygotic embryos. The induction of somatic embryogenesis in young leaves required a series of transfers on different culture media containing 30 g/L sucrose and 100 mg/L myo-inositol. Secondary or recurrent somatic embryogenesis occurred within the immature somatic embryo radicles after 1 month of culture on growth regulator-free medium containing WPM macronutrients, MS micronutrients, and vitamins.

Here, we describe an efficient and rapid protocol for the micropropagation of Thymus pallidus Cosson ex Batt., a very rare medicinal and aromatic plant in Morocco. After seed germination, we tested the effect of different macronutrients, cytokinins alone or in combination with gibberellic acid (GA3) or auxins, on T. pallidus plantlet growth. We found that Margara macronutrients (N30K) had the best effect on the in vitro development of the plantlets. The addition of 0.93 μM/L 1,3-diphenylurea (DPU), 0.46 μM/L adenine (Ad), and 0.46 and 0.93 μM/L kinetin (Kin) resulted in the best shoot multiplication and elongation. In addition, the combination of 0.46 μM/L Kin, DPU, or Ad with gibberellic acid, in particular, 0.46 μM/L Ad + 0.58 μM/L GA3 and 0.46 μM/L Kin + 1.15 μM/L GA3, led to better bud and shoot multiplication. Moreover, the integration of the combinations of 0.46 μM/L Kin and auxins, namely 0.46 μM/L Kin + 2.85 μM/L indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), 0.46 μM/L Kin + 2.85 or 5.71 μM/L indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), and 0.46 μM/L Kin + 0.3 or 0.57 μM/L 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), in the culture medium led to better root development and optimized aerial growth. Finally, the in vitro plants from the medium containing N30K + 0.46 μM/L Kin + 2.85 μM/L IAA were successfully acclimatized; these plants served as a source for repeating in vitro culture.
대장 질환 이미지 합성을 위한 CycleGAN 의 가능성 조사
Zineb Tissir,Sang-Woong Lee 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 2022 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 학술대회 Vol.2022 No.05
One of the main challenges of advancing medical imaging research is its data's privacy and sensitivity; sharing and distributing medical information is limited due to privacy concerns and the possible exploitation of personal information. Generative adversarial networks have impressive results in synthesizing new datasets from natural images and translating image to image. In the case of CycleGAN construct samples are done by translating the image from one domain to another. We present a study of the application of CycleGAN in medical imaging by converting standard images to images with a disease. Consequently, we test the generated dataset in a classification task and compare it with the original one. Results reveal that the synthesized samples could replace the original dataset
Sensorless Control of Induction Motor Drives Using an Improved MRAS Observer
Zineb Kandoussi,Zakaria Boulghasoul,Abdelhadi Elbacha,Abdelouahed Tajer 대한전기학회 2017 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.12 No.4
This paper presents sensorless vector control of induction motor drives with an improved model reference adaptive system observer for rotor speed estimation and parameters identification from measured stator currents, stator voltages and estimated rotor fluxes. The aim of the proposed sensorless control method is to compensate simultaneously stator resistance and rotor time constant variations which are subject of large changes during operation. PI controllers have been used in the model reference adaptive system adaptation mechanism and in the closed loops of speed and currents regulation. The stability of the proposed observer is proved by the Lyapunov’s theorem and its feasibility is verified by experimentation. The experimental results are obtained with an 1 ㎾ induction motor using Matlab/Simulink and a dSPACE system with DS1104 controller board showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach in terms of dynamic performance.
