      • Divine Love understood by Vanhoozer’s Trinitarian Hermeneutics & C.S. Song’s Story Theology and its Implication for Religious Dialogue

Ya-Tang Chuang 성공회대학교 신학연구소 2019 Madang: Journal of Contextual Theology Vol.31 No.1

In this article, the author tires to investigate, from the perspective of contextual theology of Asia, the main works of Kevin Vanhoozer, including Is there in a Meaning in This Text? First Theology, The Drama of Doctrine and Remythologizing Theology, in order to explore how his theological hermeneutics may contribute to religious dialogue. Indubitably, the theological hermeneutics of Vanhoozer was formed in struggling with the challenges of postmodernity in the pluralistic age. That means post-modern context influenced his way of doing theology. He integrates philosophical hermeneutics, theory of speech act and the doctrine of Trinity into a Trinitarian hermeneutics of humility and conviction. For him, God, script and hermeneutics are the tripod of First Theology. On the one hand, theology is hermeneutical, because theology is based on interpretation of the Bible. On the other hand, hermeneutics is theological, because the interpretation of texts in general rests on beliefs about God and humanity. In this sense, his Trinitarian hermeneutics is positive to religious dialogue which aims at understanding the meanings of God and humanity by sharing interpretation, understanding and application of religious scriptures to deal with common problems of the world today. Based on methodology of theological hermeneutics, Vanhoozer constructs a communicative theism which is more open to other religions than previous traditional theism, and more loyal to the triune God than perichoretic theism at present-day. The author will try to argue that Vanhoozer’s contribution might be enhanced in case his theological hermeneutics practiced with story theology of Choan-Seng Song. This connection is possible because both of them espouse “theology of transposition.” As Caleb Oladipo rightly said, effective religious dialogue is achieved by “mutual understanding” and “mature differentiation.” For Vanhoozer, communicative action of God is the subject matter of theological interpretation of the Bible, and the divine Love manifested in the story of Jesus is the climax of Theo-Drama. Yet, the story of Jesus is more effective for the Asian people when it was understood and interpreted in relation to stories of suffering people in Asian contexts as the story theology of Song strived. The triune God, understood and experienced by a Trinitarian hermeneutics, is the One who lights and lives in love. Divine love of the triune God calls Christians to be responsible pluralists who seek unity in plurality of theological/religious meanings by improvising, inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit, the Theo-Drama not only among their brothers and sisters in the contexts of Christian cultures, but also amidst their neighbors of other faiths in the contexts of pluralistic religions and cultures.

Stress wave propagation in clearance joints based on characteristics method

        Ya-Qiong Tang,Tuan-Jie Li,Cong-Cong Chen,Zuo-Wei Wang 국제구조공학회 2017 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.62 No.6

In this paper, a stress wave model is established to describe the three states (separate, contact and impact) of clearance joints. Based on this stress wave model, the propagation characteristics of stress wave generated in clearance joints is revealed. First, the stress wave model of clearance joints is established based on the viscoelastic theory. Then, the reflection and transmission characteristics of stress wave with different boundaries are studied, and the propagation of stress wave in viscoelastic rods is described by the characteristics method. Finally, the stress wave propagation in clearance joints with three states is analyzed to validate the proposed model and method. The results show the clearance sizes, initial axial speeds and material parameters have important influences on the stress wave propagation, and the new stress waves will generate when the clearance joint in contact and impact states, and there exist some high stress region near contact area of clearance joints when the incident waves are superposed with reflection waves, which may speed up the damage of joints.

Effect of Minor Sc Addition on the Microstructure Evolution of Al–Cu–Li–Mg Alloy During Homogenization with Different Cooling Modes

        Ya Tang,Daihong Xiao,Lanping Huang,Renxuan You,Xinyue Zhao,Nan Lin,Yunzhu Ma,Wensheng Liu 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.10

The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of Al–3.92Cu–1.10Li–0.68Mg–0.32Ag–0.23Mn–0.35Zn–0.11Zrand Al–3.92Cu–1.12Li–0.76Mg–0.29Ag–0.24Mn–0.24Zn–0.12Zr–0.083Sc (wt%) alloys during homogenization with differentcooling modes were comprehensively studied. It was clearly revealed that the minor Sc addition refined the grainsof as-cast Al–Cu–Li–Mg alloys through the formation of primary Al3(Sc, Zr) phases during the solidification process, andinduced Sc enrichment in the θ (Al2Cu) eutectic. After the homogenization treatment, the majority of coarse nonequilibriumeutectic phases at the grain boundaries dissolved into the α-Al matrix, leading to the relatively uniform distribution ofeach element. Sc-added alloy after homogenization treatments possessed more superior strength and ductility than Sc-freealloy. Compared to the furnace cooling mode, the air cooling mode could inhibit the precipitation of micron-sized coarse T1(Al2CuLi) phase and improve the mechanical properties of the alloys. After homogenization, the continuous Al2Cuphase inthe as-cast Sc-added alloy dissolved and transformed to an array of W-(Al, Cu, Sc) ternary phase, which was identified asAl6Cu6Scwith the body-centered tetragonal structure. The appearance of spherical Al6Cu6Scparticle could not damage themechanical properties of Al–Cu–Li–Mg alloys after the homogenization treatment. The tensile strength, yield strength andelongation of Sc-added alloy after the homogenization by air cooling were 390 MPa, 265 MPa and 10.8%, respectively. Theinvestigation of Al6Cu6Scphase offered a potential avenue to produce high-quality Sc-added 2xxx series alloys.

Biomimetic Biphasic Electrospun Scaffold for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tissue Engineering

        Tang Ya,Tian Jialiang,Li Long,Huang Lin,Shen Quan,Guo Shanzhu,Jiang Yue 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2021 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.18 No.5

Background: Replacing damaged anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs) with tissue-engineered artificial ligaments is challenging because ligament scaffolds must have a multiregional structure that can guide stem cell differentiation. Here, we designed a biphasic scaffold and evaluated its effect on human marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) under dynamic culture conditions as well as rat ACL reconstruction model in vivo. Methods: We designed a novel dual-phase electrospinning strategy wherein the scaffolds comprised randomly arranged phases at the two ends and an aligned phase in the middle. The morphological, mechanical properties and scaffold degradation were investigated. MSCs proliferation, adhesion, morphology and fibroblast markers were evaluated under dynamic culturing. This scaffold were tested if they could induce ligament formation using a rodent model in vivo. Results: Compared with other materials, poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide)/poly(ε-caprolactone) (PLGA/PCL) with mass ratio of 1:5 showed appropriate mechanical properties and biodegradability that matched ACLs. After 28 days of dynamic culturing, MSCs were fusiform oriented in the aligned phase and randomly arranged in a paving-stone-like morphology in the random phase. The increased expression of fibroblastic markers demonstrated that only the alignment of nanofibers worked with mechanical stimulation to promote effective fibroblast differentiation. This scaffold was a dense collagenous structure, and there was minimal difference in collagen direction in the orientation phase. Conclusion: Dual-phase electrospun scaffolds had mechanical properties and degradability similar to those of ACLs. They promoted differences in the morphology of MSCs and induced fibroblast differentiation under dynamic culture conditions. Animal experiments showed that ligamentous tissue regenerated well and supported joint stability. • A Comparison of Elder Suicide Between Taiwan and the United States

Chiung Ya Tang 한국노인복지학회 2003 International Journal of Welfare for the Aged Vol.9 No.-

The improvement of medical science extends human life but seems unable to intensify satisfaction in later life. Having an increasing elder population, both Taiwan and United States are also confronting an increasing elder suicide incidence. By acquire the knowledge about elder suicide based on each culture context, the present study aims to draw suggestions for both Taiwan and United States to be advantageous from each other. Feeling loneliness and lacking family support are the most dominant reasons of elder suicide in Taiwan, whereas in America, the most prevalent reason is to solve difficulties caused by illness or the feeling of lose. The different rationales between these two countries indicated that the family centered thoughts do shape the elder suicide behavior in Taiwan being different from that in America, which is influenced by individualism. Finally, learning from elder institution in America and enrich family interaction are suggestions for Taiwan and Unite States respectively.

      • A Bottom-up Algorithm for XML Twig Queries

        Tang Zhi-xian,Feng Jun,Xu Li-ming,Shi Ya-qing 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.8 No.4

Twig query is a core operation in processing and optimizing XML structural queries. Recently, various algorithms have been proposed for finding twig patterns efficiently. Most of them are based on region labeling, pay little attention on nodes level information, and require additional caches such as stacks or lists to maintain the intermediate matching results, which cause the performance bottleneck of these algorithms. In contrast to previous work, we present a bottom-up algorithm for twig queries, which does not require additional caches and introduces idea of string searching to determine binary relationship between two nodes. Be- sides, this paper presents a node filtering mechanism–PathLevel, which can also be used in other algorithms for speeding up the query. Comprehensive experiments on several datasets demonstrate our method is an effective way for twig query.
