Effects of Welding Residual Stress on Compressive Behavior and Ultimate Strength of Corroded Plate
Shingo Tamagawa,You-Chul Kim 한국강구조학회 2010 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.10 No.2
This study examined the effects of welding residual stress on the compressive behavior and the ultimate strength of the corroded plate. First, welding residual stress was obtained by the thermal elastic-plastic analysis. Then, the change of welding residual stress and the deflection due to the volume loss was investigated by using a newly developed program based on FEM. Finally, the effects of welding residual stress on the compressive behavior and the ultimate strength of the corroded plate were investigated by the elastic-plastic large deformation analysis. As results, the beginning point of the reduction of the initial stiffness with welding residual stress was earlier than that without welding residual stress. Such effect was observed significantly in the case that the volume was lost in the region which has compressive residual stress. Furthermore, the ultimate strength of the corroded plate was reduced by welding residual stress regardless of the plate length, the corroded regions and the reduction of the thickness. The effect of welding residual stress on the ultimate strength became small with the decrease of the thickness.
Roles of metal layers and polymer matrix for inducing IPMC bending
Hirohisa Tamagawa,Yusuke Onouchi,Minoru Sasaki 제어로봇시스템학회 2008 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2008 No.10
Previously, it was reported that Ag-plated Semeion CMV exhibited a controllable bending by the induction of Ag layer redox reaction upon electric stimuli. In this study, Cu and Ni-plated Selemion CMVs were prepared and it was investigated if they could exhibit the controllable bending by the induction of redox reaction like Ag-plated Selemion CMV. The surface analysis by ESCA suggested that neither Cu nor Ni layers on Selemion CMVs exhibited the redox reaction upon electric stimuli, and in fact, the bending of both Cu nor Ni-plated Selemion CMVs was uncontrollable. Apart from the redox reaction, it was speculated that the formation uniform and thin metal layers were in need for the induction of precisely controllable bending.
The characteristics of rail freight transportation and provincial factors in China
Lei Wang,Hidenori Tamagawa 서울시립대학교 도시과학연구원 2011 도시과학국제저널 Vol.15 No.1
In today’s developing countries, especially China and India, populations are growing and levels of energy consumption are rapidly increasing as economies develop. Therefore, the problem of procuring energy for transportation is a major global challenge in the twenty-first century – particularly in China. Using the established regression model of transportation energy, we analyze the relationship between the distribution of cities and the level of rail freight transportation energy consumption in China. For a long time, studies on freight transportation in China have used qualitative analysis as the core analysis method and there has been less quantitative research. So the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the distribution of cities and rail freight transportation using quantitative research. The conclusions of this paper are as follows: first, this study reveals the primary factors that have an influence on rail freight transportation using the multiple-regression model. We can see that factors such as the degree of industrial development and coal-related industries have a significant impact on the level of rail freight transportation energy consumption. Second, through analysis of the independency of cities in China we found that China has significant regional disparities and that it is still quite difficult to set up independent urban regions in China.

To measure the contiguity relationship of land use by the vector data, it is necessary to consider the following two points; (1)range of contiguity, (2)route between concerned cells. The purpose of this study is to propose contiguity indices considering the relationship by the vector data and investigate their characters. The indices based on the conditions of above (1) and (2) are proposed and applied to interpret the results of land use simulation by three dimensional vector data. In the process the characteristics of the indices grasped.
Eruption of a venous malformation through an iliac bone harvesting site after trauma
Kono, Tatsuki,Saiga, Atsuomi,Tamagawa, Keiichi,Katsuki, Kensuke,Nomura, Misako,Hokazono, Toshinori,Uchida, Yuuki Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surge 2018 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.45 No.6
Harvesting grafts from the anterior iliac bone has been associated with various complications. A 50-year-old woman presented to our department with a chief complaint of right inguinal swelling and pain. Autologous bone grafts had been harvested on two previous occasions from the right anterior iliac crest for use in the reconstruction of multiple facial fractures. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a full-thickness bone defect in the right anterior iliac crest. A mass was noted in the right gluteus minimus, while a multilocular cystic mass extended from the right iliac crest defect to the right inguinal region. Both the inguinal mass and gluteal mass were removed under general anesthesia. Following histopathological analysis, the gluteal mass was diagnosed as a venous malformation (VM). Based on the patient's clinical course, iliac bone graft harvesting and trauma to the gluteal region triggered hemorrhaging from the VM. Blood components leaked out from the fragile portion of the iliac bone defect, forming a cystic lesion that developed into the inguinal mass. In this case, a coincidental VM resulted in a rare complication of iliac bone graft harvesting. These sequelae could have been avoided by planning for more appropriate ways to collect the grafts.
Development and Validation of Microwave Radiometer Algorithms for Land Surface Hydrology
Koike, Toshio,Fujii, Hideyuki,Tamagawa, Katsunori 대한원격탐사학회 2000 International Symposium on Remote Sensing Vol.16 No.1
Land surface hydrological parameters have been of the advantages of microwaves. It is long enough to considered to play an important role in the global and reduce the scattering effect of cloud particles and to regional climate variability. Especially, soil moisture, make microwave sensors useful all-weather ones. The snow, surface temperature and vegetation are the key wave length in the microwave region has sensitivity to parameters which should be observed in the global scale the scattering effect of snow grains, precipitation for process studies and diagnostic studies and be used in modeling as initial conditions and/or validation data. Tn this study, new algorithms for these hydrological parameters in regional and global scales by using passive microwave sensors are developed based on the microwave radiative transfer theory. The results of algorithm validation by using the field data obtained during the GAME-Tibet Intensive Observing Period particles and leaves. Microwave remote sensing has potential of the measurement of snow water equivalent and vegetation water content (VWC). The independence of sun as a source of illumination is also one of the important reasons for using microwaves. We can obtain the data even in night. This advantage is more important in the case of non-sunsynchronous observation of the diurnal cycle of land surface temperature. (IOP) and the operational data in Russia show good performance of the developed algorithms.
A study on the relations between criminal behaviors in purse-snatching and urban spaces
Takumi Kasuya,Hidenori Tamagawa 서울시립대학교 도시과학연구원 2012 도시과학국제저널 Vol.16 No.3
Many purse-snatching cases occur near or around stations or entertainment areas where many people gather. We examined 16 purse-snatching cases closely and verified how purse-snatching offenders utilized urban spaces and how they behaved. Our results showed that purse-snatching offenders headed for hunting grounds looking for their targets based on the distance between their bases and their hunting grounds. It also depended on the transportation means they used. Urban elements also affected the behaviors of the purse-snatching offenders and the offenders often utilized urban structures such as parks as their escape routes or hiding places.
