Alternating Copolymer of Sulfonated Poly(ether ether ketone-benzimidazole)s (SPEEK-BI) Bearing Acid and Base Moieties

        Wang, Jianli,Song, Yilin,Zhang, Cheng,Ye, Zhibin,Liu, Hui,Lee, Myong-Hoon,Wang, Dehai,Ji, Jianbing WILEY-VCH Verlag 2008 Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics Vol.209 No.14

<P>A novel alternating copolymer of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone-benzimidazole)s (SPEEK-BI) was synthesized by polycondensation of aromatic bisphenol containing benzimidazole and a mixture of sulfonated and non-sulfonated difluorobenzophenones. By varying the amount of two difluorobenzophenones, the ratio of sulfonic acid unit to imidazole base was controlled straightforwardly. The polymer structure was characterized by 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy. Two different methods of ion exchange capacity measurement supported a strong inter- and intra-molecular interaction between acid and base units, which resulted in an improved mechanical strength as well as avoiding phase separation. Tough membranes with good mechanical stability in hot water (80 °C) and alcohol were obtained by solution casting, which is potential for applications in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and membranes for separation of liquids or gases.</P><P> <img src='wiley_img/10221352-2008-209-14-MACP200700610-gra001.gif' alt='wiley_img/10221352-2008-209-14-MACP200700610-gra001'> </P>

One-Pot Synthesis of CdSe Quantum Dots Using Selenium Dioxide as a Selenium Source in Aqueous Solution

Wang, Yilin,Yang, Hong,Xia, Zhenyi,Tong, Zhangfa,Zhou, Liya Korean Chemical Society 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.7

A novel technology has been developed for the synthesis of thioglycolic acid (TGA)-capped CdSe quantum dots (QDs) in aqueous medium. The reaction was carried out in air atmosphere with one-pot by using $SeO_2$ to replace Se or $Na_2Se$. The technological parameters including refluxing time, pH values and molar ratios of selenium to cadmium had significant influence on the luminescence properties of CdSe QDs. Furthermore, the obtained QDs were characterized by fluorescent spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), respectively. The results demonstrated that the CdSe QDs were of zinc-blended crystal structure in a sphere-like shape.

      • Security for Wireless Sensor Networks

Yilin Wang,Maosheng Qin 제어로봇시스템학회 2010 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.10

Wireless sensor networks are becoming more and more popular; however, with the advent of smart dust the security for wireless sensor networks is still a trouble. Resolving security for wireless sensor networks, an important problem is key distribution. In this paper, we show how the key distribution problem can be dealt with in environment and we make full use of asymmetric cryptographic technique to devices with capable processors, then the security has greatly improved. At the beginning, we hoped once a node can communicate securely and simply with other nodes to generate a symmetric key, and sent it in the clear to its neighbors; however, we found this primitive mechanism was an apparent insecurity way. Then we have improved this method, updated key and used multi path secrecy amplification and multi hop key propagation; now, we can build up extremely resilient security networks in the place where at most communication can be subverted easily. In this process, we have built a secure system and it works well. We believe security systems can become an integral part of practical sensor networks.

Trapidil determines the fate of RHF rats through inhibition of ER stress

        Yilin Wang,Yu Wang,Chengxi Wei,Quan Wan,Zhifei Fan,Liying Xuan,Wanru Geng,Liqun Shao,Jie Long,Junyi Gu,Ming Zhao 대한약학회 2020 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.43 No.4

Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a fatal disease, especially when it causes right heart failure (RHF). However, it is difficult to treat. It has been reported thattrapidil (Tra) can improve the redox balance and cardiacconditions. In this study, we investigated the effect of Tra onRHF induced by monocrotaline (MCT) in rats. Male Wistarrats were treated with MCT or Tra. Treatment lasted 28 days, then rats were euthanized after echocardiography and catheterization. Subsequently, lungs and right ventricular myocardiawere evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin, Masson, and TUNEL staining. Protein expression was detected bywestern blotting. We found remarkably expanded rightventricle end-diastolic volume, decreased partial pressureof oxygen (PaO2), increased partial pressure of carbondioxide (PaCO2), right ventricular systolic pressure, meanpulmonary arterial pressure, lung/body weight, and liver/body weight in the RHF rat group, as well as increases inthe apoptosis rate and the expression of endoplasmic reticulumstress (ERS)-related proteins. However, these changes were significantly inhibited by Tra. Our data suggested thatinhibition of ERS is essential for improving RHF, and thattherapeutic intervention of Tra in RHF rats works by reducingERS.

CAB: Classifying Arrhythmias based on Imbalanced Sensor Data

( Yilin Wang ),( Le Sun ),( Sudha Subramani ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.7

Intelligently detecting anomalies in health sensor data streams (e.g., Electrocardiogram, ECG) can improve the development of E-health industry. The physiological signals of patients are collected through sensors. Timely diagnosis and treatment save medical resources, promote physical health, and reduce complications. However, it is difficult to automatically classify the ECG data, as the features of ECGs are difficult to extract. And the volume of labeled ECG data is limited, which affects the classification performance. In this paper, we propose a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN)-based deep learning framework (called CAB) for heart arrhythmia classification. CAB focuses on improving the detection accuracy based on a small number of labeled samples. It is trained based on the class-imbalance ECG data. Augmenting ECG data by a GAN model eliminates the impact of data scarcity. After data augmentation, CAB classifies the ECG data by using a Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory Recurrent Neural Network (Bi-LSTM). Experiment results show a better performance of CAB compared with state-of-the-art methods. The overall classification accuracy of CAB is 99.71%. The F1-scores of classifying Normal beats (N), Supraventricular ectopic beats (S), Ventricular ectopic beats (V), Fusion beats (F) and Unclassifiable beats (Q) heartbeats are 99.86%, 97.66%, 99.05%, 98.57% and 99.88%, respectively. Unclassifiable beats (Q) heartbeats are 99.86%, 97.66%, 99.05%, 98.57% and 99.88%, respectively.

Molecular and Functional Characterization of ZmNF-YC14 in Transgenic Arabidopsis

        Yilin Cai,Xiupeng Mei;Ping Li;Lu Wang;Chaoxian Liu;Lian Zhou 한국식물학회 2018 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.61 No.6

The optimum transition stage from vegetative toreproductive development is important for flowering plantsto obtain the desired plant architecture to maximize yield. Inthis study, we overexpressed the maize NUCLEAR FACTORY, SUBUNIT C 14 (ZmNF-YC14) gene in Arabidopsis toinvestigate its potential functions in the regulation of planttransition. Overexpression of ZmNF-YC14 in Arabidopsisinhibited plant flowering and retarded the duration of thebranch-producing inflorescence phase 1 (I1). These plantsexhibited increased length of I1 and higher ratio of inflorescencephase 1 to inflorescence phase (I) (I1:I) under long-dayconditions. As a consequence, these transgenic plants exhibiteddramatic changes in their overall inflorescence morphology. In addition, the phenotypes of inflorescence morphologycaused by ZmNF-YC14 overexpression were enhanced byexogenous gibberellin (GA) treatment, which obtained asignificant increase in I1:I, inflorescence phase 1 to inflorescencephase 2 (I2) (I1:I2), and remarkable decrease in I2 and I2:I intransgenic plants compared to those under normal conditions. Taken together, the results of this study suggest that ZmNFYC14negatively regulates flowering and controls flowerformation under long-day conditions in Arabidopsis and maybe involved in a GA regulation pathway.

T-START: Time, Status and Region Aware Taxi Mobility Model for Metropolis

( Haiquan Wang ),( Shuo Lei ),( Binglin Wu ),( Yilin Li ),( Bowen Du ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.7

The mobility model is one of the most important factors that impacts the evaluation of any transportation vehicular networking protocols via simulations. However, to obtain a realistic mobility model in the dynamic urban environment is a very challenging task. Several studies extract mobility models from large-scale real data sets (mostly taxi GPS data) in recent years, but they do not consider the statuses of taxi, which is an important factor affected taxi’s mobility. In this paper, we discover three simple observations related to the taxi statuses via mining of real taxi trajectories: (1) the behavior of taxi will be influenced by the statuses, (2) the macroscopic movement is related with different geographic features in corresponding status, and (3) the taxi load/drop events are varied with time period. Based on these three observations, a novel taxi mobility model (T-START) is proposed with respect to taxi statuses, geographic region and time period. The simulation results illustrate that proposed mobility model has a good approximation with reality in trajectory samples and distribution of nodes in four typical time periods.

Effects of Globalization on the Convergence of Poverty Levels among Asian Countries

        Li Yilin,Wang Jingbu,오근엽 한국국제경제학회 2022 International Economic Journal Vol.36 No.2

This study empirically analyzed the effects of economic globalization on differences in poverty levels among Asian countries using data for a 25-year period, as well as the effects of economic globalization on the process. Trade openness (TO) and foreign direct investment (FDI) data were used as proxy variables for globalization. Using a headcount ratio (HCR) and per capita gross domestic product (PGDP), we analyzed the convergence of poverty levels using the σ- and β-convergence concepts. It was found that poverty levels have been substantially reduced in Asia and that economic globalization assisted in this change. The PGDP gaps among countries have gradually decreased and trade openness and FDI have had a strong effect on poverty reduction. Finally, there was no evidence for convergence in terms of the HCR during the recent globalization period and, therefore, it was concluded that economic globalization has not assisted in the convergence of HCR, while it helped the convergence of PGDP. This implies that the poverty issue is different from the income level issue. Thus, care must be taken to consider policy beyond the simple approach of economic growth.
