IoL Field Gateway : An Integrated IoT Agent using Networked Smart LED Lighting Controller
Vinayagam Mariappan,Soonho Jung,Sangwoon Lee,Jaesang Cha 한국통신학회 2017 정보와 통신 Vol.34 No.2
The LED technology advancement introduce cuttingedge technology on Internet of Things (IoT) to connect the physical world to the digital realm, using digital smart lighting infrastructure called Internet of light (IoL). This paper proposes an Integrated IoT agent on networked smart LED lighting controller called IoL Filed Gateway using lighting infrastructure in which a lighting system that can connect to a network and can be monitored and controlled from a centralized system or via the cloud. The IoL Field Gateway defines new world of smart connected intelligence, lighting can become an integral and responsive part of everyday human life environments. The proposed connected lighting gateway uses the concept of multi-hop ad hoc network using visible light communication (VLC) with RF wireless technologies and Wired PLC (Power Line Communication). This connectivity and intelligence integrated into LEDbased luminaires form the backbone of smart buildings and cities and make the Internet of Things (IoT) vision feasible and enables the lighting administrator can control numerous lightings easily and visitors can get visual information from the lightings with their smart devices. The proposed IoL gateway design is emulated on Arduino based HW platform with VLC, RF, and PLC connectivity and evaluated with four sensor interface.

Vinayagam Mariappan,Hyung-O Kim,Minwoo Lee,Juphil Cho,Jaesang Cha 한국인터넷방송통신학회 2015 Journal of Advanced Smart Convergence Vol.4 No.2
In this paper, we propose an effective tracking algorithm with an appearance model based on features extracted from a video frame with posture variation and camera view point adaptation by employing the non-adaptive random projections that preserve the structure of the image feature space of objects. The existing online tracking algorithms update models with features from recent video frames and the numerous issues remain to be addressed despite on the improvement in tracking. The data-dependent adaptive appearance models often encounter the drift problems because the online algorithms does not get the required amount of data for online learning. So, we propose an effective tracking algorithm with an appearance model based on features extracted from a video frame.
OnBoard Vision Based Object Tracking Control Stabilization Using PID Controller
Mariappan, Vinayagam,Lee, Minwoo,Cho, Juphil,Cha, Jaesang The International Promotion Agency of Culture Tech 2016 International Journal of Advanced Culture Technolo Vol.4 No.4
In this paper, we propose a simple and effective vision-based tracking controller design for autonomous object tracking using multicopter. The multicopter based automatic tracking system usually unstable when the object moved so the tracking process can't define the object position location exactly that means when the object moves, the system can't track object suddenly along to the direction of objects movement. The system will always looking for the object from the first point or its home position. In this paper, PID control used to improve the stability of tracking system, so that the result object tracking became more stable than before, it can be seen from error of tracking. A computer vision and control strategy is applied to detect a diverse set of moving objects on Raspberry Pi based platform and Software defined PID controller design to control Yaw, Throttle, Pitch of the multicopter in real time. Finally based series of experiment results and concluded that the PID control make the tracking system become more stable in real time.

The technology convergence of television, communication, and computing devices enables the rich social and entertaining experience through Smart TV in personal living space. The powerful smart TV computing platform allows to provide various user interaction interfaces like IR remote control, web based control, body gesture based control, etc. The presently used smart TV interaction user control methods are not efficient and user-friendly to access different type of media content and services and strongly required advanced way to control and access to the smart TV with easy user interface. This paper propose the optical wireless communication (OWC) based remote controller design for Smart TV using smart device Flashlights. In this approach, the user smart device act as a remote controller with touch based interactive smart device application and transfer the user control interface data to smart TV trough Flashlight using visible light communication method. The smart TV built-in camera follows the optical camera communication (OCC) principle to decode data and control smart TV user access functions according. This proposed method is not harmful as radio frequency (RF) radiation does it on human health and very simple to use as well user does need to any gesture moves to control the smart TV.

Recently the water management department advised the water treatment industry to focus on deploy the chemical free and the environmentally responsible process to adopt on water treatment plants in every country. In this objective, water treatment process started using ultrasonic based phycocyanin extraction with fluorescence measurement techniques to detect the change in the yield of phycocyanin. This paper propose the design of optical filter model for fluorescence technique based immersive optical phycocyanin measurement sensor design. The proposed design uses the multi-wavelength sensor module for irradiating part, and this plays a role of removing a wavelength band other than 590 ~ 620 nm. The preliminary study on immersed phycocyanin sensor, the fluorescence value of picocyanin according to the ultrasonic intensity, treatment time and number of cells was measured using JM phycocyanin module to emulate the proposed design, and were compared performance of the proposed sensor emulation. In this design , the phycocyanin fluorescence value increased about 2.1 ~ 4.7 times as the ultrasonic treatment time increased as compared with JM phycocyanin module, and the phycocyanin fluorescence value within the analysis range was obtained by ultrasonic treatment within one minute.
