On Certain Integral Transforms Involving Hypergeometric Functions and Struve Function

Singhal, Vijay Kumar,Mukherjee, Rohit Department of Mathematics 2016 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.56 No.4

This paper is devoted to the study of Mellin, Laplace, Euler and Whittaker transforms involving Struve function, generalized Wright function and Fox's H-function. The main results are presented in the form of four theorems. On account of the general nature of the functions involved here in, the main results obtained here yield a large number of known and new results in terms of simpler functions as their special cases. For the sake of illustration some corollaries have been recorded here as special cases of our main findings.

Chromosome numbers and meiotic behavior in some species of Asteraceae from high altitudinal regions of Kashmir Himalayas

        Younas Rasheed Tantray,Ishrat Jan,Mohammad Saleem Wani,Vijay Kumar Singhal,Raghbir Chand Gupta 국립중앙과학관 2021 Journal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity Vol.14 No.4

Disparity or continuity in the chromosome count within taxa of various categories has been verified to bean imperative character for taxonomic classification. Male meiotic studies in 64 species (161 accessions)of composits from geographically isolated regions were examined in detail in order to update the existingknowledge of meiotic chromosome numbers of composits from the outer part of the Himalayas. Myriactisjavanica (2n ¼ 36) and Tanacetum nubigenum (2n ¼ 36) have been counted chromosomally for the firsttime at the world level. Besides, Koelpinia linearis (2n ¼ 36), Ajania fruticulosa (2n ¼ 18), Crepis flexuosa(2n ¼ 14), and Tanacetum gracile (2n ¼ 18) have been analyzed chromosomally for the first time fromIndia. New intraspecific diploid/polyploid cytotypes are added for Artemisia desertorum (2n ¼ 6x ¼ 54),Carduus nutans (2n ¼ 4x ¼ 16), Erigeron annuus (2n ¼ 2x ¼ 18), Leontopodium jacotianum (2n ¼ 4x ¼ 48),Pentanema indicum (2n ¼ 6x ¼ 54), Scorzonera virgata (2n ¼ 2x ¼ 16), and Tragopogon pratensis(2n ¼ 2x ¼ 12). Besides, eight species have been evaluated cytologically for the first time from KashmirHimalayas. Various meiotic abnormalities like cytomixis, structural heterozygosity, chromatin stickiness, nonsynchronous disjunction, laggards, bridges, unoriented chromosomes leading to pollen sterility havebeen observed for the first time in some species. The presence of B-chromosomes has been detected inAchillea millefolium (2n ¼ 18þ0-1B) and Saussurea candolleana (2n ¼ 26þ0-1B). Among meioticallyanalyzed species, diploids (76.5%) and polyploids (23.5%) prevail.

South Asian Working Action Group on SARCOpenia (SWAG-SARCO) – A consensus document

        Minakshi Dhar,Nitin Kapoor,Ketut Suastika,Mohammad E. Khamseh,Shahjada Selim,Vijay Kumar,Syed Abbas Raza,Umal Azmat,Monika Pathania,Yovan Parikshat Rai Mahadeb,Sunny Singhal,Mohammad Wali Naseri,IGP S 대한골다공증학회 2022 Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia Vol.8 No.2

The South Asian population is rapidly ageing and sarcopenia is likely to become a huge burden in this region if proper action is not taken in time. Several sarcopenia guidelines are available, from the western world and from East Asia. However, these guidelines are not fully relevant for the South Asian healthcare ecosystem. South Asia is ethnically, culturally, and phenotypically unique. Additionally, the region is seeing an increase in non-communicable lifestyle disease and obesity. Both these conditions can lead to sarcopenia. However, secondary sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity are either not dealt with in detail or are missing in other guidelines. Hence, we present a consensus on the screening, diagnosis and management of sarcopenia, which addresses the gaps in the current guidelines. This South Asian consensus gives equal importance to muscle function, muscle strength, and muscle mass; provides cost-effective clinical and easy to implement solutions; highlights secondary sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity; lists commonly used biomarkers; reminds us that osteo-arthro-muscular triad should be seen as a single entity to address sarcopenia; stresses on prevention over treatment; and prioritizes nonpharmacological over pharmacological management. As literature is scarce from this region, the authors call for more South Asian research guided interventions.
