Composition dependence of the electrical conductivity of Se85?xTe15Sbx (x = 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) glass at room temperature

        Vibhav K. Saraswat,K. Singh,N.S. Saxena,V. Kishore,T.P. Sharma,P.K. Saraswat 한국물리학회 2006 Current Applied Physics Vol.6 No.1

Measurements ofIV characteristics and DC electrical conductivity of Se85. xTe15Sbx (wherex = 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) glassy thinpellets, prepared by well established melt quenching technique in bulk (pellets of diameter 12mm and thickness. 1m were pre-pared under a constant load of 5 tons), have been carried out at room temperature using Keithley High Resistance Meter/Electrom-eter 6517A. For the recording ofIV characteristics, this equipment was used in FVMI (Force Voltage Measure Current) mode. It isIV characteristics that the glass containing 4 at. wt.% of Sb has the minimum resistance allowing maximumcurrent through the sample as compared to the other at. wt.% of Sb contents e.g. 2, 6, 8 and 10.At 4 at. wt.% of Sb, conductivityrises to 76% of the value obtained for 2 at. wt.% of Sb. Composition dependence of DC conductivity is discussed in terms of thebond formation between Se and Sb at dierent compositions. The conduction mechanism is discussed qualitatively on the basisof PooleFrenkel conduction mechanism. Also the linear relation between ln (I) and V1/2veries that the conduction mechanismis of PooleFrenkel type for both low and high voltage range. The deviation of ohmic behaviour at lower voltage range towardsthe non-ohmic at higher voltage range is due to the high voltage induced temperature eects in the sample.

Energy Budget Based Multiple Attribute Decision Making (EB-MADM) Algorithm for Cooperative Clustering in Wireless Body Area Networks

        Amit Choudhary,M. Nizamuddin,Manish Kumar Singh,Vibhav Kumar Sachan 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.1

A wireless network of biosensor nodes, attached to different parts of the patient body, is termed as Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN). WBANs offer a real-time data monitoring platform for biological health parameters like blood pressure, heart rate, and glucose level etc. Low-power consumption is an essential WBAN design requirement due to limited power resources of biosensor nodes. Present work proposes the design of low power, clustering based data routing protocol for WBANs. Proposed protocol incorporates a novel “Energy Budget based Multiple Attributes Decision Making Algorithm (EB-MADM)” for dynamic cluster head selection. The algorithm selects an optimum node as cluster head which has the higher residual energy level and performs data routing at the cost of least network residual energy loss. EB-MADM selects a new cluster head for each transmission round and distributes cluster head load evenly among cluster nodes. It results in enhanced network lifetime. Proposed protocol incorporates another low power technique termed as “Cooperative effort of cluster nodes”. This technique saves node transmission energy by prohibiting redundant data from transmission. The proposed protocol is simulated using MATLAB tool and the performance results are compared with existing WBAN protocols. Proposed protocol shows better performance in terms of network lifetime, stability period, throughput, and propagation delay.

EFFECT OF CROSSWINDS ON THE AERODYNAMICS OF TWO PASSENGER CARS CROSSING EACH OTHER

        Ahmad Hammad,Tao Xing,Ahmed Abdel-Rahim,Vibhav Durgesh,John C. Crepeau 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.5

The impact of aerodynamics on vehicle safety during crossing of passenger cars is investigated, in the absence and presence of 30o crosswind. Three-dimensional, unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were used to simulate these maneuvers. The vortical structures surrounding one car in the case without crosswind were analyzed, establishing the connection between force and moment fluctuations pre-interaction and the shedding frequency of these vortices. The forces and moments acting on a passenger car during a crossing maneuver may change by up to 43 %, with the maximum change associated with the windward car in the presence of crosswind. However, the duration of this increase in forces is at most 0.01 s, which will not affect the stability of vehicles under normal conditions. The presence of crosswind increased the rate of fluctuation of forces and moments. Wind tunnel experimental results are in good agreement with the simulations, and the data available in literature. The analysis results do not show the necessity of enacting new safety policies on highways, but future parametric studies are needed to fully investigate the impact of different crosswind speeds and directions, the impact of discrepancy in vehicles sizes, and different vehicle lateral separating distances during crossing and overtaking.
