In this paper, a novel prototype of auxiliary switched capacitor assisted voltage source soft switching PWM Single-Ended Push Pull (SEPP) series capacitor compensated load resonant inverter with two auxiliary edge resonant lossless inductor snubbers is proposed and discussed for small scale consumer high-frequency induction heating (IH) appliances. The operation principle of this inverter is described by using switching mode equivalent circuits. The newly developed multi resonant high-frequency inverter using trench gate IGBTs can regulate its output AC power via constant frequency edge-resonant associated soft switching commutation by using an asymmetrical PWM control or duty cycle control scheme. The brand-new consumer IH products which use the newly proposed edge-resonant soft switching PWM-SEPP type series load resonant high-frequency inverters are evaluated using power regulation characteristics, actual efficiency vs. duty cycle and input power vs. actual efficiency characteristics. Their operating performance compared with some conventional soft switching high-frequency inverters for IH appliances is discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The practical effectiveness of the newly proposed soft switching PWM SEPP series load resonant inverter is verified from an application point of view as being suitable for consumer high-frequency IH appliances.

The new topological high-frequency multi
resonant inverter can regulate its output power under a constant frequency soft switching commutation principle by asymmetrical PWM scheme. The consumer brand-new IH products which use newly proposed soft switching PWM-SEPP series load resonant high-frequency inverter is actually evaluated and discussed as compared with some
conventional high-frequency inverters on the basis of simulation and experimental results. Its practical effectiveness is proved from an application point of view.

This paper presents the soft switching duty cycle controlled AC-AC direct high frequency cycloconversion circuit for consumer induction heated cooker and steamer, which has unity power factor and sinewave line current shaping functions. The proposed commercial utility frequency AC (LFAC) to high frequency AC (HFAC) cycloconverter can be composed of minimum circuit components for resonance, filter and diodes, which is possible to implement effective miniaturization, low cost, reliability, high efficiency,
downsizing because of the non-electrolytic capacitor at zero
voltage soft switching commutation scheme. In addition, this paper describes the operating principle and its unique features of LFAC-HFAC cycloconverter circuit. Finally its power regulation characteristics in HFAC side in addition to utility AC side sinewave current quality and unity PFC are evaluated and discussed from a simulation point of view. Its practical effectiveness of this direct frequency cycloconverter is proven for consumer induction heated appliances in home and business usages.

This paper presents a two-switch boost-half bridge one stage topology of commercial single-phase utility AC-grid interfaced soft switching pulse modulation high-frequency inverter with active power filtering function, which is more acceptable for consumer IH cooking heater and steamer. The commercial utility AC mains connected boost-half bridge type high-frequency inverter circuit with lossless snubbing capacitors is mainly composed of a single
stage power conversion processing combined by discontinuous
current mode (DCM) PFC power converter due to boost chopper and a constant frequency ZVS-PWM controlled SEPP series resonant high-frequency inverter with induction heated load such as rice cooker, floor heating steamer, and fixing heating drum roller in copy and printer equipment. This two-switch boost-half bridge type one stage power conversion processing includes some advantageous points as simple configuration, low cost, harmonic current reduction with unity power factor, and soft switching operation. Its operating principle is described and discussed herein. In
addition to these, the operating performances of utility AC-HFAC power frequency converter treated here are illustrated on the basis of simulation and experimental results. Its practical effectiveness for consumer IH cooker and hot water producer is proved from an experimental point of view.

In this paper, a novel topology of soft switching PWM high frequency AC power conversion conditioning and processing circuit without DC smoothing Capacitor filter link from the voltage grid of commercial utility frequency AC power supply source with 60Hz-100V or 60Hz-200V is proposed and introduced for next generation consumer induction heating (IH) boiler applications as a hot water
producer, steamer and super heated steamer. The operating principle of commercial utility frequency AC (LFAC) to high frequency AC (HFAC) power frequency conversion soft switching circuit defined as high frequency soft switching cycloinverter is described, which can efficiently operate under a principle of zero voltage soft switching and regulate by means of positive and negative alternate asymmetrical PWM synchronized with the commercial utility frequency single phase AC voltage. The dual mode control scheme based on
high frequency PWM and commercial frequency AC voltage PDM for high frequency cycloinverter are discussed in order to extend its soft switching commutation operating range in spite of power regulation ranging from low power to high power setting. This power frequency changer as high frequency cycloinverter is developed originally for the high frequency induction heating boiler in promising consumer
and industrial fluid pipeline systems.
It is verified on the basis of experiment and simulation results of the soft switching high frequency cycloinverter using IGBTs which is more suitable for the business-use IH boiler using new electromagnetic induction heating dual packs fluid heater. Finally, the power regulation characteristics in addition to utility AC side line current harmonic components and power factor characteristics and power conversion efficiency characteristics of this high frequency cycloinverter treated here are evaluated and discussed from an experimental point of view.
