A conformal patch biosensor that can detect biomolecules is one promising technology for wearable sweat glucose self-monitoring. However, developing such a patch is challenging because conferring stretchability to its components is difficult. Herein, we demonstrate a platform for a nonenzymatic, electrochemical sensor patch: a wrinkled, stretchable, nanohybrid fiber (WSNF) in which Au nanowrinkles partially cover the reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/polyurethane composite fiber. The WSNF has high electrocatalytic activity because of synergetic effects between the Au nanowrinkles and the oxygen-containing functional groups on the rGO-supporting matrix which promote the dehydrogenation step in glucose oxidation. The WSNF offers stretchability, high sensitivity, low detection limit, high selectivity against interferents, and high ambient-condition stability, and it can detect glucose in neutral conditions. If this WSNF sensor patch were sewn onto a stretchable fabric and attached to the human body, it could continuously measure glucose levels in sweat to accurately reflect blood glucose levels.
[FIG OMISSION]

EPIDEMIOLOGY OF BREAST CANCER: The incidence and mortality of breast cancer are lower in Asia than in the West, particularly in post-menopausal women, but they are increasing. The age patterns of the incidence of breast cancer in Asia differ from in the West: in most Asian countries the peak incidence of breast cancer is at about age 45-50, whereas in western countries the incidence continues to increase even at older ages. Mortality is decreasing in western countries, whereas it is still increasing in Asian nations. There are many epidemiological factors involved in breast cancer, and important known risk factors include diet, obesity and diabetes. Asian studies found that high intake of isoflavones reduced the risk of breast cancer. PATHOLOGY OF BREAST CANCER: With regard to the pathology of breast cancer, for the molecular subtype, luminal A and luminal B are being used, while HER2 expression and rapid proliferation are also employed. Study results showed a somewhat higher prevalence of luminal A in Japanese compared with Americans. Ductal carcinoma in situ breast cancer is less frequent in Asian breast cancer patients than in Americans. The Working Group resolved to establish an international committee for pathological assessment of breast cancer in Asia. TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER: Pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics studies are needed between ethnic backgrounds, investigating aromatase inhibitors and tamoxifen (endoxifen), as well as the effects of demographic factors such as diet, medical care, body mass index, etc. Correlations between adverse events and the clinical outcome also need to be studied.

Mouthwash is one of the most commonly oral healthcare products for prevention and treatment of gum diseases. Dr. ECA is a disinfectant solution manufactured by a Vietnamese company and has been licensed for oral healthcare, but its effect on gingivitis is still unclear. To evaluate the effectiveness of this product in the treatment of gingivitis, we conducted a clinical study in 60 students diagnosed with gingivitis to compare the results of gingivitis treatment using Dr. ECA and a control mouthwash (a demonstrated anti-gingivitis product). The data showed that in the treated group, the rate of good Gingivitis Index (GI) before treatment was 46.67%, but after 2 and 4 weeks of using Dr. ECA that rate was increased to 96.67% and 100%, respectively. The percentage of patients with bleeding on probing was 63.33% but declined sharply after 2 weeks of treatment to 6.67%, and further reduced to 3.33% after 4 weeks of treatment. The treatment outcomes in were similar in the Dr. ECA treated group and control one with no statistically significant difference. Our results suggest that the electrolyte saline solution Dr. ECA is effective in treating gingivitis. Its effects are similar to other mouthwash products that had been approved and marketed.

The cubic and spherical shaped iron pyrite (FeS 2 ) nanocrystals were synthesized in a pure phase form by an effi cient hotinjection method. These FeS 2 nanocrystals were used as a counter electrode (CE) alternative to the conventional Pt CE indye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) owing to its tremendous optical properties and low-cost. The obtained FeS 2 nanocrystallinematerials with excellent shape and phase purity were confi rmed through XRD and Raman spectroscopy data. FromTafel, and impedance spectroscopy studies, the catalytic activity FeS 2 CEs are found to be comparable with that of Pt CE. Along with the I 3− /I − electrolyte, photo-conversion effi ciency is found to be 6.9% (spherical), 6.2% (cubic) for the FeS 2 CE,and 7% for Pt CE. The excellent performance of the FeS 2 CE in DSSCs makes it a distinctive choice among the various CEmaterials studied including low-cost photovoltaics.
Control Strategy for Accurate Reactive Power Sharing in Islanded Microgrids
Xuan Hoa Thi Pham,Toi Thanh Le 전력전자학회 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.4
This paper presents a control strategy to enhance the accuracy of reactive power sharing between paralleled three-phaseinverters in an islanded microgrid. In this study, the mismatch of power sharing when the line impedances have significantdifferences between inverters connected to a microgrid has been solved, the accuracy of the reactive power sharing in an islandedmicrogrid is increased, the voltage droop slope is tuned to compensate for the mismatch of voltage drops across the lineimpedances by using an enhanced droop controller. The proposed method ensures accurate power sharing even if the microgridhas local loads at the output of the inverters. The control model has been simulated by MATLAB/Simulink with two or threeinverters connected in parallel. Simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the implemented control method. Furthermore, inorder to validate the theoretical analysis and simulation results, an experimental setup was built in the laboratory. Resultsobtained from the experimental setup verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Zein-based solid dispersion for potential application in targeted delivery
Minh Ngoc‑Uyen Nguyen,Toi Van Vo,Phuong Ha‑Lien Tran,Thao Truong‑Dinh Tran 한국약제학회 2017 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.47 No.4
The study aims to design and evaluate the ability of zein in solid dispersion (SD) system to enhance drug dissolution rate for a further application of colonic delivery of poorly water-soluble drug. The SD samples were prepared by solvent method and the investigation of drug release was performed at pH 7.4. The wettability, molecular interactions and drug’s crystal behaviours of SDs were studied by contact angle measurement, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), respectively. Zein-based SDs showed its potential in enhancing the rate of drug release. The PXRD results pointed out a rearrangement of drug’s crystalline structure in some SD samples through the appearance of new peaks on PXRD diffractogram, while a formation of a hydrogen bond between prednisolone (PRL) and zein was also confirmed by FTIR spectra. It was evident that a strong relationship between the amount of zein and the dissolution rate of PRL in SD system attributed to zein hydrophobicity, recrystallization and molecular interaction which were factors inducing the enhanced drug release rate. In conclusion, zein is a potential carrier for controlled release SD systems, especially further application for poorly water-soluble drugs in colonic delivery like PRL due to the resistance of zein at low pH environment.
