A Review of Accounting Research Trends in the World
Tran,Thi Phuong Thanh 한국유통과학회 2019 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2019 No.-
Trends in international accounting harmonization are extensive, so that demand on accounting research to meet international standards is more necessary and instant. The purpose of this paper is to conduct a review of accounting papers and find out the main characteristics of current accounting research trends in the world. I investigate trends by examining papers published in six top accouting journals (JCR 2015) from 2015 to 2016. I used citations made by accounting papers as a proxy for ranking and examine trends in topics and methodologies of these papers. This paper’s results suggest that financial accounting topics and archival methodologies are becoming more significantly over time during the research period. Moreover, the results also show that the movement in accounting research trends from a normative perspective to a positive perspective, especially an experimental research. From these results, I discuss the major characteristics of future accounting research trends and give some implications about accounting research to Vietnamese researchers.

Osmotically drug delivery systems utilize osmotic pressure as driving force for controlled delivery of drugs. The release of drug from these systems is independent of the physiological factors of the gastrointestinal tract (GI) to a large extent. Different types of osmotically controlled oral drug delivery systems (OROS) were present in a number of patents. Because patents are hard to read, to analyze, and to judge due to the different styles in which they are written. This review analyzes U.S. patents on OROS, different types of OROS with advantages, limitations and applications are discussed.

Objective: The rapid and reliable detection of the African swine fever virus (ASFV) plays an important role in emergency control and preventive measures of ASF. Some methods have been recommended by FAO/OIE to detect ASFV in clinical samples, including real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). However, mismatches in primer and probe binding regions may cause a false-negative result. Here, a slight modification in probe sequence has been conducted to improve the qualification of real-time PCR based on World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) protocol for accurate detection of ASFV in field samples in Vietnam. Methods: Seven positive confirmed samples (four samples have no mismatch, and three samples contained one mutation in probe binding sites) were used to establish novel real-time PCR with slightly modified probe (Y = C or T) in comparison with original probe recommended by OIE. Results: Both real-time PCRs using the OIE-recommended probe and novel modified probe can detect ASFV in clinical samples without mismatch in probe binding site. A high correlation of cycle quantification (Cq) values was observed in which Cq values obtained from both probes arranged from 22 to 25, suggesting that modified probe sequence does not impede the qualification of real-time PCR to detect ASFV in clinical samples. However, the samples with one mutation in probe binding sites were ASFV negative with OIE recommended probe but positive with our modified probe (Cq value ranked between 33.12-35.78). Conclusion: We demonstrated for the first time that a mismatch in probe binding regions caused a false negative result by OIE recommended real-time PCR, and a slightly modified probe is required to enhance the sensitivity and obtain an ASF accurate diagnosis in field samples in Vietnam.

The microplasma system that uses a stripline resonator is a promising plasma system because, capitalizing on the resonance property of the plasma source, it can readily generate plasma under atmospheric conditions without the assistance of an additional matching network. However, precise determination of the resonance frequency before device manufacturing is very important in practice. Therefore, the evolution trends of the resonance frequency of the discharge have to be investigated, based on source impedance analysis, to get an insight into the discharge matching condition. In this paper, a means of determining the discharge source impedance, called conformal mapping, and its application to the microwave parallel stripline resonator discharge source is presented and discussed.

Classification is widely used in medical images to categorize patients and non-patients. However, conventional classification requires a complex procedure, including some rigid steps such as pre-processing, segmentation, feature extraction, detection, and classification. In this paper, we propose a novel convolutional neural network (CNN), called LeukemiaNet, to specifically classify two different types of leukemia, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and non-cancerous patients. To extend the limited dataset, a PCA color augmentation process is utilized before images are input into the LeukemiaNet. This augmentation method enhances the accuracy of our proposed CNN architecture from 96.9% to 97.2% for distinguishing ALL, AML, and normal cell images.
A Flexible and Tunable Microwave Photonic Filter Based on Adjustable Optical Frequency Comb Source
Thanh Tuan Tran,서동선 한국전기전자학회 2015 전기전자학회논문지 Vol.19 No.1
A flexible and tunable microwave photonic filter based on adjustable optical frequency comb source is demonstrated. We use a combination of a dual parallel Mach Zehnder modulator and an intensity modulator to generate fifteen comb lines with proper weights to implement a desired filter. The optical comb weights, corresponding to the tap coefficients of the filter, are flexibly changed by adjusting the operation parameters of the modulators. The achieved bandwidth and stopband attenuation of the tunable filter are 0.7 GHz and 20 dB, respectively. In addition, we overcome the undesired low frequency suppression appeared in a conventional scheme by applying a dual parallel Mach Zehnder modulator for single sideband suppressed carrier modulation.

Distributed plasticity approach for the nonlinear structural assessment of offshore wind turbine
Tran, Thanh-Tuan,Hussan, Mosaruf,Kim, Dookie,Nguyen, Phu-Cuong The Society of Naval Architects of Korea 2020 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.12 No.1
This study provides an insight of the nonlinear behavior of the Offshore Wind Turbine (OWT) structure using the distributed plasticity approach. The fiber section beam-column element is applied to construct the finite element model. The accuracy of the proposed model is verified using linear analysis via the comparison of the dynamic characteristics. For collapse risk assessment of OWT, the nonlinear effects considering the earthquake Incident Angle (IA) have been evaluated first. Then, the Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) has been executed using a set of 20 near-fault records. Lastly, fragility curves are developed to evaluate the vulnerability of structures for different limit states. Attained results justify the accuracy of the proposed approach for the structural response against the ground motions and other environmental loads. It indicates that effects of static wind and wave loads along with the earthquake loads should be considered during the risk assessment of the OWT structure.
