Ovarian stimulation with commercial preparations of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) produces extremely variable responses indomestic animals, ranging from excessive stimulation to practically no stimulation, when applied on the basis of their declared unitage. Thisstudy was conducted to analyze four commercial preparations from different manufacturers via reversed-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) incomparison with a reference preparation and an official International Standard from the World Health Organization. The peaks obtained bythis qualitative and quantitative physical–chemical analysis were compared using an in vivo bioassay based on the ovarian weight gain ofprepubertal female rats. The RP-HPLC data showed one or two peaks close to a main peak (tR = 27.9 min), which were related to the in vivobioactivity. Commercial preparations that have this altered peak showed very little or no in vivo activity, as demonstrated by rat ovarian weightand in peripubertal gilts induced to ovulate. Overall, these findings indicate that RP-HPLC can be a rapid and reliable tool to reveal changesin the physicochemical profile of commercial eCG that is apparently related to decreased biological activity of this hormone.
A Probabilistic Approach for Testing Feedback Controllers with Application to Congestion Control
José M. Maestre,Teresa Alvarez,Teodoro Alamo,Anuar Salim del Río,Amalia Luque 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2012 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.10 No.4
Prompted by an application in congestion control of computer networks, this paper presents a methodology to certify with a certain degree of confidence whether a given controller satisfies a pre-defined set of specifications. The methodology is applied to testing AQM controllers for efficiency in congestion control, by repeating detailed simulations under a variety of network configurations.
Generalized Multiple Delay-dependent H∞ Functional Observer Design for Nonlinear System
Ghali Naami,Mohamed Ouahi,Teresa Alvarez,Abdelhamid Rabhi 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.11
Functional observers are the major alternative to many practical estimation problems where full-order observers cannot be used. This paper introduces a generalized approach to design H∞ functional observers for a class of Lipschitz nonlinear systems with multiple time delays. Moreover, the considered system extends from previously published work in that it presents nonlinearity, multiple delay and external disturbance. Their main findings come from the development of a generalized augmented Lyapunov function that uses both the extended reciprocal convex combination and the Wirtinger inequality. The stability of the observer is therefore guaranteed by an LMI optimization problem. Finally, the steps of the design procedure were condensed and proffered for the two numerical examples to test the recommended design approach.
