The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of functional food including dietary fiber supplementation on body composition concerning obesity and defecation satisfaction of women. Twelve young healthy women but had defecation difficulty were participated as a subject. Body weight, %body fat, WHR mesurement and defecation satisfaction questionnaire were performed before and after 2 weeks' supplementation. The results of this study were as follows : First, Body composition concerning obesity such as body weight(p=.0065), % body fat(p =.0004) and WHR(p=.0007) after 2 weeks' functional food including dietary fiber supplementation was decreased significantly. Second, defecation satisfaction functional food including dietary fiber supplementation was increased significantly(p = .0039). This results suggested that functional food including dietary fiber supplementation should be recommended as effective dietary food for persons with obesity and defecation difficulty.

A novel platinum aminoalkoxide complex, Pt(dmamp)2 has been prepared by the reaction of cis-(py)2PtI2 with two equivalents of Na(dmamp) (dmamp = 1-dimethylamino-2-methyl-2-propanolate). Single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis shows that the Pt(dmamp)2 complex keeps a square planar geometry with each two nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms having trans configuration. Platinum films have been deposited on TaN/ Ta/Si substrates by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) using Pt(dmamp)2. As-deposited platinum thin films did not contain any appreciable amounts of impurities except a little carbon. As the deposition temperature was increased, the films resistivity and deposition rate increased. The electrical resistivity (13.6 μ Ωcm) of Pt film deposited at 400 oC is a little higher than the bulk value (10.5 μ Ωcm) at 293 K. The chemical composition, crystalline structure, and morphology of the deposited films were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and atomic force microscopy.
폐쇄성 수면무호흡 환자의 상기도 형태의 특징과 압력강하에 관한 3차원 전산유체역학해석

폐쇄성 수면무호흡(obstructive sleep apnea, OSA)은 수면 중에 반복적으로 상기도의 완전폐쇄나 부분폐쇄가 일어나는 질환으로서 흡기된 공기는 반드시 상기도라는 연조직 관(tube) 구조를 통과해야 하므로 상기도의 폐쇄경향은 관의 형태 및 관을 통과하는 공기의 유체역학적 특성에 따라서도 큰 영향을 받을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 OSA 환자 3인의 치료 전 상기도 CT 이미지를 이용하여 개별화된 3차원 유한요소모델 A, B, C를 제작하고, 비공 당 170, 200, 230 ml/s의 흡기유량에 대하여 3차원 전산유체역학 해석을 시행하였다. 상기도의 유속, 음압 그리고 압력강하를 측정한 결과 관찰된 3개의 모델에서 모두 단면적이 가장 작은 부위에서 유속이 증가하였고, 음압이 크게 나타났다. 기도의 형태는 구개인두와 구인두 부위에서 좁아지는 형태를 가지며, 최소 단면적 영역과 하인두 단면적의 차이가 클수록 유속과 음압의 변화가 크게 나타났다. 비강 부위의 최고 압력과 최소 단면적 영역의 최저 압력의 차이를 의미하는 압력강하는 상기도 저항을 종합적으로 판단할 수 있는 유용한 지표이며, 유량에 따라 증가하였다. Objective: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common disorder which is characterized by a recurrence of entire or partial collapse of the pharyngeal airway during sleep. A given tidal volume must traverse the soft tissue tube structure of the upper airway, so the tendency for airway obstruction is influenced by the geometries of the duct and characteristics of the airflow in respect to fluid dynamics. Methods: Individualized 3D FEA models were reconstructed from pretreatment computerized tomogram images of three patients with obstructive sleep apnea. 3D computational fluid dynamics analysis was used to observe the effect of airway geometry on the flow velocity, negative pressure and pressure drop in the upper airway at an inspiration flow rate of 170, 200, and 230 ml/s per nostril. Results: In all 3 models, large airflow velocity and negative pressure were observed around the section of minimum area (SMA), the region which narrows around the velopharynx and oropharynx. The bigger the Out-A (outlet area)/ SMA-A (SMA area) ratio, the greater was the change in airflow velocity and negative pressure. Conclusions: Pressure drop meaning the difference between highest pressure at nostril and lowest pressure at SMA, is a good indicator for upper airway resistance which increased more as the airflow volume was increased.

In this paper, we present neural network identification and control of highly complicated nonlinear Left Ventricular Assist Device(LVAD) system with a pneumatically driven mock circulation system. Generally the LVAD system need to compensate nonlinearities. Hence, it is necessary to apply high performance control techniques. Fortunately, the neural network can be applied to control of a nonlinear dynamic system by learning capability. In this study, we identify the LVAD system with Neural Network Identification. Once the NNI has learned the dynamic model of LVAD system, the other network, called Neural Network Controller(NNC), is designed for control of a LVAD system. The ability and effectiveness of identifying and controlling a LVAD system using the proposed algorithm will he demonstrated by computer simulation.

손톱위허물 피판술을 이용한 절단 환자의 손톱 길이 연장술

목적: 수지 첨부 절단으로 짧아진 손톱 길이를 늘이는데 손톱위허물 피판술이 효과적이면서도 간단하고 안전한 방법으로 생각하여 보고하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 2006년 11월부터 2008년 4월까지 수지 첨부 절단 손상 환자 25명에 대해 손톱위허물 피판술을 시행하였고, 수술의 결과를 평가하였다. 환자 자신의 외관상의 만족도를 설문에 의해 조사하였고, 손톱의 길이를 자로 측정하여 수술 전의 손톱길이와 반대편 손톱의 길이와 상대적 비율을 비교하였다. 결과: 평균 수술시간은 14분(10-19분)이었다. 전 예에서 피판은 생존하였고 감염, 피판의 울혈 등 특별한 합병증은 없었으며, 손톱에 추가 변형은 없었다. 추시 기간은 평균 5개월(3-18개월)이었으며, 손톱은 평균 0.35 ㎝가 연장되었다. 최종 관찰 시 미용상 만족도는 평균 95.5점이었으며 최초 손톱 길이의 소실이 적은 환자에서 만족도는 더 높았다. 결론: 손톱위허물 피판술을 이용한 손톱 연장술은 수지 첨부 절단 환자의 짧아진 손톱을 간단하고 안전하면서도 외관상 높은 만족도를 보이는 유용한 술식이다. Purpose: We wanted to introduce a nail lengthening technique with an eponychial flap for treating finger tip amputation, and we review the relevant literature. Materials and Methods: Twenty-five patients who received eponychial flap surgery between November 2001 and April 2006 were enrolled in this study. Retrospectively, the patients were asked, by using a questionnaire, about their satisfaction with their nail shape and length. The preoperative findings and the findings at the last follow up and the contralateral finger nail lengths were measured with a ruler and those were all compared according to the percentage of change. Results: The average operation time was fourteen minutes (range: 10 to 19 minutes). All the flaps survived and there was no infection, congestion of the flap, or additional deformity of nail. The average follow up period was five months. The nails were lengthened an average of 0.35 ㎝. The last follow up questionnaire showed that the patients were satisfied with their nail's appearance with an average score of 95.5 points. Conclusion: Nail lengthening using an eponychial flap is a convenient, safe and aestheticall pleasing procedure.
