The Effect of Covid-19 Pandemic on the Adoption of Internet Banking in Indonesia: Islamic Bank and Conventional Bank

Heri SUDARSONO,Rindang Nuri Isnaini NUGROHOWATI,Yunice Karina TUMEWANG 한국유통과학회 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.11

This study aims to examine the effect of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU), trust (TR), subjective norm (SN), and attitude (AT) on customer’s Intention to Adopt Internet Banking (IAIB) at Islamic banks and conventional banks before and during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research model is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study involves 213 respondents for Islamic banks and 410 respondents for conventional banks from 25 provinces in Indonesia. Data was analyzed using partial least square (PLS) regression with the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The result of data analysis confirms several hypotheses taken from the literature. The results before the Covid-19 pandemic showed that AT and SN influence IAIB in Islamic banks. Whereas in conventional banks, AT, PU, SN, and TR influence IAIB. While during the Covid-19 pandemic, it shows that the AT, PU, IB, SN, and customer TR influence IAIB in Islamic banks and conventional banks. From the analysis, it was found that the PEU variable did not have a significant effect on the intention of customers of Islamic banks and conventional banks to use Internet banking.

From catalyst structure design to electrode fabrication of platinum-free electrocatalysts in proton exchange membrane fuel cells: A review

        Wulandhari Sudarsono,Sue Ying Tan,Wai Yin Wong,Fatin Saiha Omar,K. Ramya,Shahid Mehmood,Arshid Numan,Rashmi Walvekar,Mohammad Khalid 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.122 No.-

The development of low-cost fuel cell technology has involved substantial research on platinum-free ornon-platinum group metal (non-PGM) catalysts for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) in proton exchangemembrane fuel cells. However, due to macroscale degradation and flooding issues in fuel cell systems, catalyst development has faced significant challenges in rapid active site degradation over a short time. This review presents the impacts of the non-PGM catalyst structure on the ORR activity and single-cellperformance. A balance in the micropores, mesopores and macropores is sought to ensure high accessibilityto the active sites, a high active site density, and good water management at the electrode layer toprevent active site blockage. The unsatisfactory single-cell performance of non-PGM electrodes alsopotentially arises from the conventional catalyst ink-casting technique. This review also provides insightinto the necessary strategies for producing non-PGM MEAs via proper porous architecture and innovativecatalyst casting techniques to develop promising low-cost PEMFC technology.

The behavior of insect pollinators in a teak (Tectona grandis L. f.) clonal seed orchard with weedy understory in East Java

        Endah Retno Palupi,Sudarsono Sudarsono,Sjamsoe’oed Sadjad,Dedy Duryadi Solihin,John N. Owens 한국산림과학회 2023 Forest Science And Technology Vol.19 No.3

Teak is an insect-pollinated species, and seed production depends on pollinators. The objec- tives of this study were to determine potential pollinators of teak and their foraging behav- ior in obtaining alternate food sources as the basis for management recommendations. Four traps, i.e. Moczarsky-Winkler selector traps, sticky traps, yellow-pan traps, and manual traps (insect net), were put up among blooming inflorescences during the flowering period of March to May. Insects were collected and counted weekly and identified. The presence and location of the pollen on their bodies were observed. The time and duration of foraging behavior, the duration of a single visit, the number of visits in an hour, and the landing pos- ition when approaching the teak flower as well as the understory were also observed. The result showed Ceratina sp., and Braunsapis sp. (Apidae), Nomia sp. (Halictidae) were potential teak pollinators in the CSO in East Java. The insect foraging behavior supports the ability to deposit pollen onto the stigma. The presence of Mimosa pudica in the understory plays as an alternate food source for pollinators. Intensive weeding and trimming of old or dead branches should be less practiced to enhance pollinators’ populations and nesting sites.

      • Cytotoxic Effect and Constituent Profile of Alkaloid Fractions from Ethanolic Extract of Ficus septica Burm. f. Leaves on T47D Breast Cancer Cells

Nugroho, Agung Endro,Akbar, Fiki Fatihah,Wiyani, Anggie,Sudarsono, Sudarsono Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.16

The study aimed to investigate the profile of alkaloids in two ethyl acetate soluble fractions, namely fractions A and B from an ethanolic extract of Ficus septica leaves and cytotoxic effect on T47D breast cancer cells. Preparation of both fractions involved maceration of leaves with 70% (v/v) ethanol, filtration with $Al_2O_3$, precipitation with 0.1 N HCl, Mayer reagent, and 0.1 N NaOH, and also partition with ethyl acetate. Qualitative thin layer chromatography (TLC) was conducted to determine the profile of alkaloids in the two fractions, using alkaloid specific reagents such as Dragendorff, sodium nitrite, and Van Urk-Salkowski. Cytotoxic effects of both fractions on T47D cells were evaluated using MTT assay with a concentration series of 1.56; 3.12; 6.25; 12.5; 25 and $50{\mu}g/mL$. The TLC test showed that fractions A and B contained alkaloids with Rx values of 0.74 and 0.80 for fraction A and 0.74, 0.84, 0.92 for fraction B with regard to yohimbine using the mobile phase of n-buthanol:glacial acetic acid:distilled water (3:1:1 v/v/v). Moreover, an indole alkaloid was detected with Rx values of 0.80 and 0.84, respectively. Fractions A and B exhibited high cytotoxic effects on T47D cells with IC50 values of 2.57 and $2.73{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. In conclusion, overall the results of this study showed that fractions of Ficus septica contain alkaloids including indole alkaloid or its derivatives and possess a cytotoxic effect on T47D cells. This research supports the idea that alkaloids in F. septica have anticancer activity.

Determinants of Default Risks and Risk Management: Evidence from Rural Banks in Indonesia

Devy Mawarnie PUSPITASARI,Erie FEBRIAN,Mokhammad ANWAR,Rahmat SUDARSONO,Sotarduga NAPITUPULU 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.8

This study aims to investigate the determinants of default risk of rural banks in East Java, Indonesia. The method used is descriptive verification and logistic regression analysis. The data used is secondary in the form of monthly annual financial reports of rural banks in East Java during the period 2009–2018. From the results, it was shown that net interest margin (NIM) as a proxy of market risk, non-performing loan (NPL) as a proxy of credit risk, operation efficiency as a proxy of operational risk and return on assets (ROA) as a proxy of profitability have a significant influence on default risk. Meanwhile, the loan to deposit (LDR) ratio as a proxy of liquidity risk has no significant influence on default risk. Banks need to implement risk management and meet the capital adequacy requirements of regulators so that they are resistant to risk, and also, compliant with bank governance to be able to produce high returns for rural banks have an impact on sustainability and its existence. The ability to identify setbacks in bank conditions and the ability to distinguish between healthy and problematic banks will enable to anticipate default banks.
