이 연구는 영재의 개념과 정의, 영재성(giftedness)과 재능(talent)의 차이점, 뉴질랜드에서의 영재교육정책과 현안문제, 뉴질랜드에서의 영재의 판별원칙과 방법 등을 다룬다. 아울러 뉴질랜드에서의 영재교육에 대한 현안들이 부분적으로나마 우리와 어떻게 다른지를 소개하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 공동연구자인 Brian Storey의 도움을 받아 우리나라의 6학년 정도의 영재들에게 사용할 수 있는 수학 영재교육 프로그램의 한 예를 제시하였다. In this paper we deal with the concept and definition of giftedness, the difference between giftedness and talent, and introduce the gifted education policy and current affairs, identification principle and methods of gifted children and so on there in New Zealand and also we introduce how the current affairs for gifted education there in New Zealand is different with ours. Finally, 1 have suggested a gifted education program of mathematics which can be used in Year 7(6th grade here in Korea) with the assistance of Brian Storey who is the coworker of this paper.

뉴질랜드 초등학교의 포트폴리오 평가에 관한 사례연구 -초등수학을 중심으로-

In this paper, we suggested generally some samples and cases of portfolio but centered on elementary mathematics in New Zealand elementary school in the aspects of the assessment for learning activity of learner and so we have found some suggestive points by comparing New Zealand portfolio with ours. Finally, we have an objects that the teachers here in Korea can use these results as a cases which are benchmarked by them. We had known through this paper that portfolio assessment in New Zealand elementary school deals with various aspects and it was accessing in the direction of creating knowledge positively through the real life, not textbookish or artificial problem and also it had a characteristics dealing with real life situation or context without filtering. Especially, it always dealt with all regions of curriculum and looked like focusing on the connections of curriculum relatively. 본 연구는 학습자의 학습활동에 대한 평가의 측면에서 지금까지 학교현장에서 실시되고 있는 수행평가의 여러 가지 기법 중 포트폴리오 평가에 대하여 외국, 특히 뉴질랜드 초등학교에서 이루어지고 있는 전반적인 포트폴리오의 샘플 및 사례를 초등수학을 중심으로 제시함으로서 독자들에게 우리나라에서 이루어지고 있는 포트폴리오와의 비교분석을 할 수 있는 기회를 제공함과 동시에 이를 통한 몇 가지 시사점을 주는데 있다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 시사점은 뉴질랜드 초등학교에서의 포트폴리오 평가는 다양한 관점에서 그리고 실생활 전반을 통하여 능동적으로 지식을 창출할 수 있는 방향으로 접근하고 있었으며 교과서적이고 인위적인 문제가 아닌 실생활의 상황 혹은 맥락을 그대로 여과 없이 다루고 있다는데 그 특징이 있으며 언제나 교육과정의 각 영역을 골고루 다루면서 교육과정과의 연계성을 상대적으로 중시하고 있는 것으로 보인다.
