Speed Control for a PMSM Servo System Using Model Reference Adaptive Control and an Extended State Observer

Li, Xiaodi,Li, Shihua The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2014 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.14 No.3

In this paper, the speed regulation problem of permanent synchronous motor (PMSM) systems under the vector control framework is studied. A model reference adaptive controller (MRAC) based on the Lyapunov stability theory is first designed. Since the standard MRAC method provides poor disturbance rejection performance in the case of strong disturbances, a composite control method which combines the MRAC method and the disturbance estimation method, called the MRAC+ESO method, is proposed. An extended state observer (ESO) is introduced to estimate the lumped disturbances. The obtained estimated value acts as a feedforward compensation term to the MRAC controller. A stability analysis of the composite control method is given. Simulation and experimental results are presented and compared to show the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

Structure and Properties of Aromatic Polyimide Fibers Fabricated by a Novel “Reaction-Spinning” Method

        Zhentao Li,Jie Dong,Jian Huang,Tao Guo,Shihua Wang,Xin Zhao,Qinghua Zhang 한국고분자학회 2020 Macromolecular Research Vol.28 No.1

In this work, two sets of high performance polyimide (PI) fibers fabricated by a more environmentally-friendly and highly efficient “reaction-spinning” method were firstly reported. The relationship between the spinning rate, chemical structure and the imidization degree of the PI precursor fibers were investigated, and the results indicated a moderate low spinning speed and relatively flexible molecular chains are both favorable for the partial imidization reaction in the spinning process. 2D WAXD results demonstrate that the rigid PDA-based PI fibers possess a higher alignment of polymer chains along the fiber axis during the spinning compared to the flexible ODA-based PIs, resulting in enhanced mechanical properties, with the tensile strength of 1.2-2.8 GPa and modulus of 53.6-111.2 GPa, respectively. Meanwhile, ODA sets of PI fibers exhibit a higher loop strength and knot strength than the commercial Aramid and PBO fibers. The process used in this study has a significant potential for realizing industrial level production of high strength and high modulus PI fibers.

Ledley Solution Method for All Feasible State Feedback Stabilizers of Boolean Control Networks With Disturbances

        Xinling Li,Shihua Fu,Jianjun Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2024 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.22 No.1

This paper addresses the robust stabilization problem of Boolean control networks with disturbance inputs (DBCNs) via the semi-tensor product (STP) of matrices, and designs all feasible state feedback stabilizers. Based on the algebraic form of DBCNs, some necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for the robust stabilization of DBCNs by Ledley antecedence solution technique. An algorithm is proposed to determine all complete families of robust reachable sets, moreover, all feasible state feedback stabilizers are obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are exploited to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results as well as the controller design scheme.

Investigation on the stability of periodic motions of a flexible rotor-bearing system with two unbalanced disks

        Chaofeng Li,Shihua Zhou,Shijie Jiang,Hexing Yu,Bang-chun Wen 대한기계학회 2014 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.28 No.7

The stability of periodic motion of a rotor-bearing system with two unbalanced disks is analyzed based on a multi-degree of freedom(M-DOF) finite element model. Nonlinear effects of supporting oil-film and inertia distributions as well as shearing effect are taken intoaccount. Focusing on the more realistic FE method to study the stability of nonlinear rotor-bearing system with the influence of the eccentricityphase, the stability calculation of the M-DOF FE model is done by using the combination of Shooting method and Newmarkmethod. Experiments with a rotor-bearing test rig (two disks on a shaft with two bearings) are then performed and results are presented. Itis found that typical instability characteristic is successfully produced. Through comparisons between calculated results and measurements,it is shown that the combination of Shooting method and Newmark method in studying the M-DOF rotor-bearing system is useful, especially for the complex rotor-bearing system. In addition, altering eccentricity phase of the two disks can significantly influence instabilitytype and speed. When the two disks are out of phase, the occurring of oil whip is restrained effectively. It is suggested that a carefulexamination should be made in modeling more complex non-linear rotor-bearing system.

Type synthesis of 3T2R decoupled hybrid mechanisms with large bearing capacity

        Sen Wang,Shihua Li,Haoran Li,Yajie Zhou,Yongjie Wang,Xinyu Wang 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.4

This paper proposes a new synthesis method of three translational and two rotational (3T2R) decoupled hybrid mechanism with large bearing capacity, based on the screw theory and the atlas method. According to the degree of freedom and decoupled characteristics of the 3T and 2R mechanisms, the decoupled conditions for the 3T and 2R parallel mechanisms are proposed. The optimal conditions for the motion/force transmission performance of the 3T decoupled parallel mechanisms with redundant actuation is presented. A redundant actuated limb construction method is proposed to improve the load capacity of the hybrid mechanism. Following the design steps of the fully decoupled hybrid mechanism, 3T2R hybrid mechanisms with large load capacity are obtained. Kinematics and statics analysis verify the correctness of the proposed synthesis method. The mechanism synthesized by this method has a good application prospect in large load occasion.

Analysis and Compensation Control of Dead-Time Effect on Space Vector PWM

Shi, Jie,Li, Shihua The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2015 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.15 No.2

Dead-time element must be set into space vector pulsed width modulation signals to avoid short circuits of the inverter. However, the dead-time element distorts the output voltage vector, which deteriorates the performance of electrical machine drive system. In this paper, dead-time effect and its compensation control strategy are analyzed. Based on the analysis, the voltage distortion caused by dead-time is regarded as two disturbances imposed on dq axes in the rotor reference frame, which degenerates the current tracking performance. To inhibit the adverse effect caused by the dead-time, a control scheme using two linear extended state observers is proposed. This method provides a strong ability to suppress dead-time effects. Simulations and experiments are conducted on a permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Incremental Passivity Based Control for DC-DC Boost Converters under Time-Varying Disturbances via a Generalized Proportional Integral Observer

He, Wei,Li, Shihua,Yang, Jun,Wang, Zuo The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2018 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.18 No.1

In this paper, the voltage tracking control of a conventional DC-DC boost converter affected by unknown, time-varying circuit parameter perturbations is investigated. Based on the fundamental property of incremental passivity, a passivity based control law is designed. Then, to obtain a better disturbance rejection property, two generalized proportional integral (GPI) observers are employed to estimate the time-varying uncertainties in the output voltage and inductor current channels, and the estimated values are applied as feedforward compensation. Moreover, the global trajectory tracking performance of a system with disturbances is ensured under the composite controller. Finally, simulation and experiment studies are provided to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed controller delivers a promising disturbance rejection capability as well as a good nominal tracking performance.
