        지역사회 파트너쉽에 의한 계획교육 : 몇 가지 교훈

        계획교육 및 계획실무의 연계 필요성은 여러 계획가 및 학자들에 의하여 제기되어 왔다. 외부기관 및 지역사회와의 협동에 의한 계획교육의 확산은 학계뿐만 아니라 관련 학생 및 지역사회에 실질적 이점을 가져올 수 있다고 주장한다. 본 논문은 필자들의 지방의회 및 지역사회와의 파트너쉽 경험을 보고하고 이러한 협동적 노력이 어떻게 학습경험의 질적 수준을 제고할 수 있는 지 분석한다. 즉, 두 가지 분리된 협력적 교육 프로젝트(Collaborative Teaching Projects)에 관한 것으로서, 그 하나는 호주 브리스베인의 지방의회 및 지역사회와의 파트너쉽을 통한 통합지역계획 수립준비를 다루고 있으며, 또 하나는 파키스탄 카라치의 Orangi Pilot Project(OPP)를 위한 비정부기구와의 협력을 통한 자조주택 및 근린 서비스 제공을 논의하는 것이다. 사례분석을 통해 본 논문은 협력적 계획교육의 도전과 기회요소를 분석하고 사례연구의 교훈을 논의한다.

        Polyethylene Glycol Induced Osmotic Stress Affects Germination and Seedling Establishment of Wheat Genotypes

        Wheat is globally an important cereal crop. Environmental stress, especially drought stress can play an important rolein the reduction of plant growth, specifically during germination in arid and semi-arid regions. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) treatedhydroponic conditions create negative osmotic potential which is compared with moisture deficit stress. The main objective of thisstudy was to investigate the effects of PEG 6000 induced moderate osmotic stress on germination indices of 22 wheat varieties. In orderto study the effects of osmotic stress on germination indices in wheat cultivars, an experiment was conducted, using a completelyrandomized design with three replications under two different levels of PEG-6000: 0% and 10%. PEG stress significantly reducedpercent germination, shoot length and root length. PEG stress significantly increased root-shoot ratio and oven dry weight. Principalcomponent analysis revealed response of traits of tolerant wheat varieties under osmotic stress. Correlation study revealed thesignificant relationships among germination indices. The variety BARI Gom-30 recorded comparatively higher root length (6 cm),shoot length (7.8 cm), root-shoot ratio (1.37) followed by the variety Sonalika whereas the variety Kalaysona recorded the lowest rootlength (2.7 cm) and shoot length (2.8 cm) under PEG stress. Evolved information of this research including selected traits such asgermination percentage, root-shoot ratio and dry weight of seedlings could be exploited in wheat breeding program for drought andosmotic stress tolerance.

      • Magnetocaloric effect and magnetic properties of the isovalent Sr<sup>2+</sup> substituted Ba<sub>2</sub>FeMoO<sub>6</sub> double perovskite

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Fine-tuning the charge distribution in Ba<SUB>2</SUB>FeMoO<SUB>6</SUB> obtained via “isovalent” substitution at the A-site (i.e., Ba) is expected to bring about changes in the physical properties of the system that can be manipulated in magnetic refrigerants. With this motivation, the phase formation, crystal structure, microstructure, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the Ba<SUB>2−x</SUB>Sr<SUB>x</SUB>FeMoO<SUB>6</SUB> (0≤x≤0.4) samples fabricated by solid state reaction method have been investigated. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of cubic structure with <I>Fm</I>3<I>m</I> space group in all the fabricated samples. The magnetization measurements and Arrott analysis revealed a second order of ferromagnetic phase transition in all the samples. An increase in magnetization and Curie temperature (T<SUB>C</SUB>) was observed with the increase in Sr-content that was attributed to the increased orbital hybridization and exchange interaction between Fe and Mo ions. The magnitude of the maximum magnetic entropy change at the Curie temperature and the relative cooling power were observed to slightly decrease with the increased Sr doping. The excellent magnetocaloric features and convenient adjustment of Curie temperature make these materials useful for magnetic refrigeration in a wide range of temperature.</P>

        Experimental and theoretical investigation of micellization behavior of sodium dodecyl sulfate with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide in aqueous/urea solution at various temperatures

        Mixed micelle formation behavior of cationic surfactant-cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in aqueous as well as in urea medium from 303.15K to 323.15K at 5K interval was carried out by conductometric method. The differences between the experimental values of critical micelle concentrations (cmc) and ideal critical micelle concentrations (cmcid) illustrate the interaction between the amphiphiles studied. The values of micellar mole fraction (X1Rub (Rubingh), X1 M (Motomura), X1Rod (Rodenas) and X1 id (ideal) of surfactant CTAB determined by different proposed models and outcome indicate high involvement of CTAB in SDS-CTAB mixed micellization, which enhance by means of the augment of mole fraction of CTAB. The negative value of interaction parameter (  ) showed an attractive interaction involving CTAB and SDS. Activity coefficients were less than unity in all case, which also reveals the presence of interaction between CTAB & SDS. The negative G0 m values imply the spontaneous mixed micellization phenomenon. The attained values of H0 m were positive at inferior temperature, while negative at superior temperature. The negative H0 m values in urea (NH 2CONH2) medium illustrate exothermic micellization process. The magnitudes of S0 m were positive in almost all cases. The excess free energy of mixed micelle formation (Gex) was found to be negative, which indicates the stability of mixed micelle as compared to the individual’s components micelles.
