Two New Dipteran Pests on Shiitake Mushroom Camptomyia spp. (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), in Korea

Camptomyia is a genus of gall midges belonging to subfamily Porricondilinae. On the study of shiitake mushroom farm in Korea, three species of maggots were collected. Among them, two Camptomyia spp. were recognized as the major pests. Colonies of these maggots were feeding on the mycelium of shiitake mushroom, disturbing the formation of mushroom fruit body. The morphology of C. heterobia and C. corticalis were illustrated with the description.
Taxonomic Review of the Genus Bardysia (Diptera: Sciaridae) in Korea

As a member of fungus gnats, the genus Bradysia can be the pests on many kind of agricultural crops, including mushroom farming. Feeding on healthy roots of crops, they can also spread root rot diseases. In Korea Bradysia difformis is known as major pest in greenhouse crops (carrot, cucumbers, garlic, melon, potatoes, radish, strawberries, sugarbeet, sweetpepper, sweetpotato, etc). Besides Bradysia difformis, we report six Bradysia species for the first time in Korea.

In the family Sciaridae, only 3 species have been recorded in Korea, as the pests on various crops and mushrooms in glasshouse (Bradysia difformis Frey, 1948, Bradysia procera (Winnertz, 1868), Lycoriella ingenua (Dufour, 1839)), even though Sciaridae is one of the species-rich families in the order Diptera. There are plenty of species unknown in Korea which are very hard to identify by morphological characters in the larval, pupal stages and also female adults as well. Therefore, using the sequences of cytochrome oxidase I gene (COI) from adult male, we tested the utilities of DNA barcode to identify the species of sciarid flies.

Five genera and 7 species of sciarid flies were collected in shiitake mushroom farm from 2007 to 2009. Among them, Lycoriella ingenua was dominant as a possible pest of the shiitake mushroom cultivated in plastic bottles. Other six species are reported for the first time in Korea.

A total of 12 genera, 37 species in the subfamily Eumeninae was recognized from the insect collection of several universities and institute in Korea (Seoul National University, Kangwon National University, National institute of Agricultural Science & Tech.). In 2007, 13 species in 9 genera were collected throughout the country by sweeping net and bamboo nest traps. Among them, Anterhynchium flavomarginatum koreanum (86 specimens), Discoelius zonalis (29 specimens), and Euodynerus dantici (20 specimens) were most dominant. One species (Stenodynerus sp.) was confirmed as new to science. Using the bamboo nest traps, 7 species of Eumenid wasps were collected and the larvae of Gelechids and Pyralids were confirmed as the prey of Discoelius zonalis and Anterhynchium flavomarginatum koreanum, respectively.

Camptomyia is a genus of gall midges belonging to subfamily Porricondilinae, with 42 species known from the palaearctic region. In November 2007, serious damages of the Shiitake mushroom logs were reported in many shiitake farms from the middle part of South Korea. Rearing the adults in laboratory, a Camptomyia species was recognized as the major species causing damages on shiitake. Colonies of maggots were observed, feeding the mycelium of shiitake mushroom and the phloem of oak timbers, disturbing the mushroom fruit body formation. The morphology of the larvae and adult of this Camptomyia heterobia. is illustrated with the description of the damage symptom.
전문상담교사의 교육실습 지도경험에 관한 합의적 질적연구

본 연구는 전문상담교사 교육실습 지도교사들의 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하여 교육실습과정을 전반적으로 살펴보고 발전방향을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 중·고등학교에서 교육실습 지도경험이 2회 이상인 전문상담교사 8명을 심층면담 하고, 수집된 면담자료를 합의적질적연구(CQR) 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 교육실습 준비과정, 교육실습 운영과정(대인관계), 교육실습 운영과정(실무지도), 교육실습 평가, 교육실습 발전방향의 5개 영역과 13개의 범주, 41개의 하위범주가 도출되었다. 첫 번째 영역에서는 교육실습 준비시작 단계와 준비과정에서 어려움이 도출되었다. 두 번째 영역은 실습생에 대한 학교구성원들의 인식, 지도교사와 실습생의 협력적 경험 및 관계에서 어려움 범주가 나타났다. 세 번째 영역에는 상담지도방법, 실무지도과정에서 어려움과 지도과정의 의문점이 도출되었다. 네 번째 영역은 다양한 평가방법 사용, 실습평가과정에서 어려움과 평가의 한계 범주가 나타났다. 마지막으로 교육실습의 제도적 보완 요구와 교원양성기관의 요구가 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해 전문상담교사가 교육실습지도 과정에서 경험하는 다양한 어려움과 상황들을 심층적으로 탐색할 수 있었으며, 전문상담교사 교육실습 지도 역량 향상과 실습여건 개선을 위한 기초자료를 마련할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계점 및 후속 연구를 제시하였다. The purpose of this study was to explore the training experience of student teaching by professional counseling teachers in depth to investigate the overall student teaching process and ways of improvement. A detailed interview was conducted on 8 professional counseling teachers that have more than 2 training experiences on student teaching at middle and high schools. The collected interview data was analyzed using consensual qualitative research method. 5 upper categories of student teaching preparation process, student teaching operation process on interpersonal relationship, student teaching on practical training, student training evaluation, and development direction of student teaching. Additionally, 13 categories and 41 subcategoreis were drawn out In the first category, preparation stage of student training and its challenges were discussed. In the second category, school members’ perception on student teacher and the difficulties in the collaboration and relationship between the teacher and the student teacher were revealed. In the third category, doubts on training process and difficulties in counseling guidance and practical training were explored. In the fourth category, limitations on use of various evaluation methods and difficulties in student teaching evaluation process were discussed. Lastly, needs for systemic complement and establishment of teacher training center were derived. This research allowed exploration of various challenges and situations professional counseling teachers experience during student teaching training and allowed preparation of basic resources to improve student teaching training capabilities and conditions. This research also provided its limitation and future study suggestions.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>An osmotic dilution process of forward osmosis (FO) and reverse osmosis (RO) was applied at pilot-scale to integrate wastewater treatment with seawater desalination in a coal-fired power plant. FO was osmotically driven by seawater used as cooling water. FO-treated wastewater was diluted with seawater and then further processed by RO. Seasonal variation in water flux, fouling behavior and reversibility, and energy consumption in both FO and RO were systematically evaluated during 5 months of pilot operation. The FO water flux, which declined due to the organic fouling induced by the wastewater from the coal-fired power plant, was readily recovered by physical cleaning. The integrated FO-RO dilution process was able to reduce the RO fouling potential through FO treatment of wastewater, significantly decreasing SDI value to 1.5 ± 0.1. This study also reported energy consumption data, to our knowledge for the first time, at pilot scale operation of FO-RO dilution process, and showed that total energy consumption for desalinating the diluted feed, including wastewater reclamation by FO, was 15% less than that of typical seawater desalination by RO. The results of this FO-RO pilot study demonstrated that sustainable FO-RO operation can be achieved in the treatment of power plant wastewater owing to easy fouling control, low energy consumption, and superior final water quality.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> FO-RO osmotic dilution process was investigated at pilot-scale. </LI> <LI> Wastewater from coal-fired power plant was successfully treated by FO. </LI> <LI> FO was driven by seawater used as cooling water in the power plant. </LI> <LI> FO was less fouled with high reversibility and reduced fouling in RO. </LI> <LI> Pilot-scale energy consumption was first reported to be lower than SWRO. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
