        한국인 전상환자의 악안면결손에 대한 임상적연구

        Maxillofacial war injures is specific representative of severe hard and soft tissue defect. This type of injuries were different from the trauma because it may be fatal. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the injury type base on the retrograde medical record in the 104 patients from Feb. 1991 to Aug. 1992 in Korea Veterans Hospital. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Among 104 cases, 51 cases(49.0%) were classified as mandibular defects only, and 53 cases (51.0%) were classified as maxillary with mandibular defect (combined). 2. The etiologic factors of injury were gunshot, artillery and grenade or shell: 33 cases, 14cases, and 10 cases respectively in Korea War, 19 cases, 5 cases, and 8 cases respectively in Vietnam War. 3. In 57 cases of mandibular partial defect, the angle area showed the highest frequencies, 18 cases(31.6%). 4. In 42 cases of mandibular segmental defect, the area between the 1st molar and the ascending ramus showed the highest frequencies. 17 cases(40.4%), and almost all cases were unilateral defect (40 cases, 95.0%) 5. Reconstruction method performed for segmental mandibular defect were wire or plate(15 cases, 35.7%) and soft tissue closure only(12 cases, 28.7%), respectively.

        하악골 과두돌기 골절시 개구범위에 관한 임상적 연구

        Functional recovery associated with mouth opening after mandibular condyle fracture was a contradictory result of many authors. The treatment goal of condyle fracture has been not only the good reduction and fixation but also the rapid functional recovery with mouth opening capacity. The purose of this study is to evaluate the mouth opening capacity after surgical or non-surgical treatment of condyle fracture according to the site, level, maxillomandibular fixation(MMF) and operation method based on 39 patents with condyle fracture who were admitted to the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Wonkwang Unversity Hospital from May.1, 1990 to Aug.31, 1992. The results were as follows. 1. The most common fracture site was level IV (17 cases : 42.2%) and level Ⅰ (14 cases : 36.8%), level Ⅱ(5 cases: 13.2%) and level Ⅲ(3 cases : 7.9%) were in decreasing order of frequency. Compound fracture with symphysis was more frequent (69.2%) than simple fracture(30.8%). 2. The mouth opening capacity was increased in the level Ⅰ compared with level Ⅳ. 3. The mouth opening capacity was increased in the group of segment removal. 4. The mouth opening capacity was increased in the MMF period was decreased. 5. Better mouth opening capacity was recorded in the physical therapy group of more than 3-4 weeks of treatment period.

      • 고추 PCR 조건의 최적화

        신품종에 대한 육종가의 권리보호용 고추 RAPD 마커를 개발하기 위한 기초연구로 PCR에 영향을 주는 요인들에 대한 최적화가 이루어졌으며 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음가 같다. 1. MgCl₂ 농도는 DNA증폭에 직접적인 영향을 주었으며 본 실험의 결과는 고추 PCR에 요구되는 MgCl₂의 최소농도는 3mM임을 보였다. 2. 공시된 2고추 조합간데 차이는 있었지만 Taq DNA polymerase는 1.5U이상의 조건일 때 DNA증폭에 효과적임이 관측되었다. 3. 본 실험에 사용된 template DNA양 중 최소인 10ng의 수준으로도 성공적인 DNA증폭을 보였다 4. dNTPs농도는 200~400μM 수준이 적당하였다. 5. Primer의 농도가 높아짐에 따라 band의 선명도가 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 200nM이상의 농도에서 뚜렷한 band가 관측되었다. 6. 공시된 두조합에서 모두 annealing 온도가 높아짐에 따라 minor band의 수가 줄어들고 major band의 선명도가 증가했다. 7. 본 실험의 결과는 3mM의 MgCl₂, 1.5U의 Taq, DNA polymerase, 10ng의 template DNA, 200μM의 dNTPs, 200nM의 primer, 그리고 42℃의 annealing 온도가 고추의 random primer를 이용한 PCR이 적정수준이 될 수 있음을 제시하였다. Factors affecting PCR have been optimized as a fundamental study in developing RAPD markers to protect breeder's right for new cultivars in Capsicums. DNA amplification was directly influenced by MgCl₂ concentration and the result showed that the minimum concentration required for PCR in Capsicums was 3mM. Although there was a difference between two pepper combinations tested, it was observed that over 1.5U of Taq. DNA polymerase was effective in DNA amplification. A successful DNA amplification was obtained with 10ng of template DNA, the smallest amount tested in this experiment. The proper level of dNTPs was the range between 200 and 400μM. There was a tendency that the intensity of bands was increased as the concentration of random primer increased and clear bands were observed with the concentration above 200nM. In both pepper combinations tested, the number of nonspecific bands was decreased and the intensity of major bands was increased as the annealing temperature was increased. The results suggested that the optimum conditions for PCR with random primer in Capsicums could be obtained with 3mM of MgCl₂, 1.5U of Taq. DNA polymerase, 10ng of template DNA, 200μM of dNTPs, 200nM of random primer, and 42℃ of annealing temperature.

        인체 자중 보상 및 로봇 경로계획법을 이용한 이동형 보행 재활 시스템 개발

        With the rising numbers of elderly and disabled people, the demand for welfare services using a robotic system and not involving human effort is likewise increasing. This study deals with a mobile-robot system combined with a BWS (Body Weight Support) system for gait rehabilitation. The BWS system is designed via the kinematic analysis of the robot’s body-lifting characteristics and of the walking guide system that controls the total rehabilitation system integrated in the mobile robot. This mobile platform is operated by utilizing the AGV (Autonomous Guided Vehicle) driving algorithm. Especially, the method that integrates geometric path tracking and obstacle avoidance for a nonholonomic mobile robot is applied so that the system can be operated in an area where the elderly users are expected to be situated, such as in a public hospital or a rehabilitation center. The mobile robot follows the path by moving through the turning radius supplied by the pure-pursuit method which is one of the existing geometric path-tracking methods. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through the real experiments those are conducted for path tracking with static- and dynamic-obstacle avoidance. Finally, through the EMG (Electromyography) signal measurement of the subject, the performance of the proposed system in a real operation condition is evaluated.

        舍巖鍼法 經驗篇에 대한 小考 : 治療篇과 比較를 중심으로

        Present Saam acupuncture can be divided into two types of Therapeutic part that is composed of physiology, pathology, classification of the symptoms, treatment and Experiential part that is composed of clinical case. Therapeutic part is authored by Saam and experiential part is authored by Ji-san. Experiential part is based on therapeutic part, but it has been changed. So, Measuring 「chapter10. Saam acupuncture(apply to therapeutic part)」 against 「chapter11. Clinical case of Ji-san(apply to experiential part)」 Author get to know that experiential part of Saam acupuncture has been changed. 「chapter10. Saam acupuncture(apply to therapeutic part)」 and 「chapter11. Clinical case of Ji-san(apply to experiential part)」 belong to 『TaeHanUiHakJeonJip·Acupuncture part』 that is similar to manuscript of Saam acupuncture. The following is changed situation of Saam acupuncture. First, While the theory of Jeong form is already established in therapeutic part, the theory of Seung form is established in experiential part. So, In experiential part, they are equal in their relations. Second, In experiential part, the term that is named 'prescription of ○○' has been used since experiential part. Third, Some of spots on the body suitable for acupuncture mentioned in therapeutic part are omitted in experiential part. And to conclude, experiential part playa large role in the establishment and change of early Saam acupuncture.

      • 朝鮮朝의 渾天儀 硏究

        Armillary spheres called honchonui is to show that during the Chosen dynasty (1392∼ 1910), Korean astronomy and technology went on its own path distinctive not only from that of the West but also from that of China, both of which had great influences on it. Our study is based upon the research of written materials and the physical investigation of some existing instruments; its findings will be used for our reconstruction of armillary spheres that were made during the middle of the dynasty. During the Choson, armillary spheres were developed to facilitate the propagation of Confucian ideology, on the one hand, to improve the knowledge of astronomy, on the other. Recognizing their importance at both aspects, the kings devoted themselves to toe making and repairing of the instruments. As time went, individuals outside of the court began to participate in making them. During the middle of the dynasty, that it from the Japanese invasion to the end of King Yongjo's rule, the Korean scientists incorporated the knowledge from the West in the making of armillary spheres. The period of King Hyonjong's reign witnessed a real innovation in making of armillary clocks. Two important scholar-officials played a major role in the renaissance of Korean technology. Upon the king's order, Yi Minch'ol cast new armillary spheres with a water-operated mechanism ; Song Iyong was also ordered to make a "self-sounding clock", that it a weight-driven armillary clock which was affected by the import of a western-style clock through China and Japan. Their joint efforts indeed led to a breakthrough not only in the history of Korean technology but also in that of mankinds. In this way, they succeeded in making armillary spheres in their own way beyond both Chinese and Western traditions of horological instrumentation. To be sure, the reconstruction of armillary spheres for which this study is to lay foundation will further stimulate the efforts at illustrating the history of Korean technology.

      • Non-electrical powered continuous cell concentration for enumeration of residual white blood cells in WBC-depleted blood using a viscoelastic fluid

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>White blood cells (WBCs) are one of the critical components whose number has to be reduced before blood transfusion, failing which adverse transfusion effects may occur in patients. However, due to the extremely low concentration of residual WBCs (r-WBCs) in WBC-depleted blood, it is difficult to quantify r-WBCs accurately without using expensive and voluminous instruments. Therefore, the development of a continuous cell concentration technique is required to produce a countable number of cells from rare cells, which cannot normally be detected. In this paper, we present a viscoelastic microfluidic device for sheathless, continuous concentration of WBCs. The device performance was evaluated using polystyrene particles with different sizes at various flow rate conditions in a non-Newtonian fluid compared to a Newtonian fluid. Large particles with a blockage ratio higher than 0.1 were tightly focused at the center and collected at the center outlet with a 98% collection ratio. Meanwhile, the viscosity effect of lysed blood samples with various hematocrits was considered. Finally, diluted WBCs with various dilution ratios were concentrated by ~18-fold and continuous concentration of WBCs in lysed blood samples was performed using a non-electrical powered hand pump sprayer. Without using an external power source, center-focused WBCs were collected at the center outlet at approximately 150 μl/min and the final number of WBCs was increased to 1.8 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> cells/ml from undetectable levels.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A viscoelastic microfluidic device for white blood cell concentration is proposed. </LI> <LI> Size-based flow characteristics of particles were examined at different flow rates. </LI> <LI> 10 µm particles were focused at the center and collected with a 98.7% collection ratio. </LI> <LI> White blood cells with various dilution ratios were concentrated by 18-fold. </LI> <LI> Using a non-electrical powered hand pump, white blood cells were concentrated to 1.8 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> cells/ml from undetectable levels. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
