In this paper, we obtain initial coe cient bounds for an uni ed subclass of analytic functions by using the Chebyshev polynomials. Furthermore, we nd the Fekete-Szego result for this class. All results are sharp. Consequences of the results are also discussed.
Coefficient bounds for close-to-convex functions associated with vertical strip domain

By considering a certain univalent function in the open unit disk $\mathbb{U} $, that maps $\mathbb{U}$ onto a strip domain, we introduce a new class of analytic and close-to-convex functions by means of a certain non-homogeneous Cauchy-Euler-type differential equation. We determine the coefficient bounds for functions in this new class. Relevant connections of some of the results obtained with those in earlier works are also provided.

Background: Parafibromin is a recently defined tumor suppressor gene. The aim of our study was to determine the relationships of parafibromin expression in urothelial carcinomas (UCs) with prognostic parameters and to evaluate the use of parafibromin as a potential marker of UC. Methods: Parafibromin expression was assessed in 49 UC specimens using immunohistochemistry. The correlations between parafibromin expression and clinical and pathologic parameters were investigated. Results: Of the patients, 42 (85.7%) were male, and the mean age was 69.6 ± 8.2 years (range, 54 to 88 years). Morphologically, the UCs were divided into two groups: papillary (n = 27) and non-papillary (n = 22). There were seven low-grade (14.3%) and 42 high-grade (85.7%) tumors. Parafibromin was negative in 13 tumors (26.5%), partially positive in 19 tumors (38.8%), and positive in 17 tumors (34.7%). Parafibromin expression was more negative in UCs from upper urinary locations (n = 17) and with muscularis propria invasion (n = 28), which was statistically significant (p = .009 and p = .007, respectively). There was no statistically significant relationship between parafibromin expression and gender, age, tumor grade, survival, or disease-free survival. Conclusions: We found that UC cases with parafibromin positivity had less of a tendency to show muscularis propria invasion and were more commonly located in the lower urinary system. These results need to be confirmed with studies based on larger case series.

A Survey on Usability Aspects of Ubiquitous Computing

We live in a digital world which controls our physical environment. The increasing use of wireless network supports these digital devices to use mostly people. People prefer mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets to personal computers or laptops. This brings that accessing to information and services is available any time and everywhere. This can be called ubiquitous computing. There is a high demand of pervasive computing applications and they have grown in the last years. However, a large group of people do not engage with these developments. This attracted the researchers to think this problem and they link it with usability of systems. In this study, we reviewed the articles which published on usability of ubiquitous computing. Within the scope of this study, the first stage is defining ubiquitous and usability. In the second stage, this paper organizes and classifies the literature on the area in order to facilitate future research. The review covers 53 peer-reviewed journal articles from 18 journals published between 2000 and 2015. The resulting framework summarizes the progress in usability studies on pervasive computing environments research and provides future research directions.

In the present paper we introduce and investigate an interesting subclass Κ<sup>(k)</sup><sub>s</sub> (γ,p) of analytic and p-valently close-to-convex functions in the open unit disk U. For functions belonging to this class, we derive several properties as the inclusion relationships and distortion theorems. The various results presented here would generalize many known recent results.

The combined effect of temperature, agitationspeed, and light on red pigment production by Monascuspurpureus (M. purpureus) Went DSM 1604 using bugdamaged wheat was studied using an artificial neuralnetwork (ANN). Information retrieved from the ANN wasused to determine the optimal operating conditions forpigment production by M. purpureus using bug damagedwheat meal. The developed ANN had R2 values fortraining, validation, and testing data sets of 0.993, 0.961,and 0.944, respectively. According to the model, thehighest pigment production of 1.874 absorbance units at510 nm (A510 nm) would be achieved at 29oC and 150 rpmunder light conditions. The mean value of the experimentalresults obtained under these optimum conditions was1.787±0.072 A510 nm, corresponding to a pigment yield of35.740 A510 nm/g. The study showed that bug damagedwheat can be used as a substrate for red pigment productionby M. purpureus.

Linum olympicum Boiss. (Linaceae) is an endemic species to Turkey, and has both medicinal and ornamental properties. In this study, we investigated the effects of GA3 and cold stratification (1 or 4 months) on the germination and mean germination time in relation to breaking dormancy in this species under darkness (20 °C) and light (20/10 °C, 12/12 h) conditions. Seeds were collected from specimens that spread on limestone or granite screes, ledges of rocky or turfy slopes, and hilltops of the alpine belt from Uludağ Mt. (Bursa, Turkey, 2200–2300 m). We show that a combination of hormone and cold stratification treatments promoted seed germination under darkness and light conditions. Non-stratified seeds germinated to 73% following 1000 mg L−1 GA3 treatment and also it was 83% after 1 month cold stratification. After 4 months of cold stratification treatment, 10% and 53.3% of seeds successfully germinated after incubation in light and dark conditions, respectively. Hormone and cold stratification treatments also reduced mean germination time. Our results revealed that seeds of L. olympicum have physiological dormancy and require prolonged time for cold stratification and darkness for germination, rather than responding to the photoperiod. Germination requirements of L. olympicum have not been studied previously, and the data obtained could be used for the ex situ protection of this alpine species.
