Go, Tae-guk, a tenor singr, was born in Go-ryeong, North Gyeong-sang Province. When he was young, he went to Japan for study and was educated at Dongyang Music School in Tokyo for a number of years. He came to home Korea, he hold a vocal recital in Dae-gu. After that he served at Dae-gu college of education as an instructor. In 1946, he gave a first vocal recital in Busan, and it meant his new life was begun as an real educationalist. When Busan education college opened an Music course, he has served this school as a Music Professor. He had the first performance of the full song of "Winterreise" by Shubert. He orgnized and led Chor Aeolian. Busan Yonhab Chorus and Eunsung Chorus with passion, it is remarkable work in Busan music history. Go, Tae-guk is a forrerunner of Chorus Movement in the pioneer day in Busan, and is a honorable educationalist of fostering musical ability of students Chang-Bac Kim(1922.1.27-1988.5.1) was one of the most outstanding musicians Busan has ever produced. He began his career as a singer then moved on to educator, conductor, commentator, and chief of various arts related organizations. In a word, late Kim, Chan-Bae was an outstanding achiever of his times. Chang-Bae Kim was born in Kyung-Buk province. He graduated from a highschool in Daeku. He studied in Kyung Sung Music School(the predecessor of the College of Music, Seoul National University) and went on th Tokyo Music School(currently known to us as Tokyo Music College) to study music further. During the World War Ⅱ, he returned to his native country and taught music at Kyungbuk Girls highschool in Daeku in 1946. Then he moved to Dongrae Girls Highschool and taught music in Kyungnam Highschool too. After the Koren civil war. he served the Navy as a civilian officer. In 1954, he worked as a professor in several college and universities such as Busan Educational College, Busan Teacher College, and Busan University of Education. In 1964, he was apponted as a professor of Busan Industrial University(currently known as kyung Sung University) and then served the university as a dean of the college of fine art. He retired from the university in 1987 and served the university as an emeritus professor until 1988 His achievements can be categorized into three area: The first, He was the frontier of local opera development movement in Busan, In fact he directed and conducted opera Cavalleria Rusicana on October 14 and 15 of 1961. Secondly, He devoted himself for the development of local cultural activities as a chairman of the Society of Busan Musician and Busan Association of Arts Society. Thirdly, He participated in International Music Council and International Society of Music Education as a korean representative and promoted the dignity of Korean music and music education Finally, He was a founder of the Kyungsung University Concert Hall a representative concert hall in Busan area and music department of the Kyungsung University in October 1980. Kim, Chang-Bae was a pioneer and devoted himself to establish Busan orignality, making music of Busan unique in the world. He and other music lovers endeavor for pursuing art and music became the root of "the Music of Busan" Yu shin was born in 1919 at the city of Hae-Nam Jun-Nam, the southwest part of Korea. He graduated at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He worked at Busan as a musician for 26 years, from 1947 to 1972. The purpose of studying Yu Shin's works was that after he grew up and became educated, he started to widen and broaden his career as a musician in Busan. He left tremendous parts of Busan's musical culture from the time after the independence of Korea to early 1970s. Therefore, in following his traces was another way of studying the musical culture of Busan during that period. In July 1955, he wrote an article, Extending and Ventilating Atmosphere of the Education in Music, as his first musically critique. He promoted and explained about "National Culture". He mentioned many times about "National Culture" and "National Music" in his many other writings, so one can judge Yu Shin's interests and attachments of it. There was a great number of Yu Shin's emerged in 1960s. they reviewed and criticized music and became a part of Critics Group of Busan and his pen never stopped working in describing it. Also, he never hesitated to point out the problems. He wrote an article, Twenty Years of History in Busan Musical World, in Busan-Munae, a musiacal magazine, which reviewed the musical world of Busan twenty years after the independence from Japan. It filled a part of early modern music history of Busan. Yu Shin worked as a composer, a theorist of Korean music, and an assessor of both western and Korean music. He spoke and showed interesting connections between the two different musical worlds. As he looked at the western coposers who get their musical ideas from their traditional matters, he researched the Korean traditional music and presented it in his own way of composing. He traveled around the provinces to analyzed the folk songs. He found out that the organization of tune, the patterns of rhythm, and the characteristics of mode and rhythm suggested the use of distinct mode. He sought music that helped the creative aspect of human life and the "Music of Korean Style". He really worked hard to show the road to reach the music that he sought with his writting and creativeites. The futurist has a view of 21st century that the world will be unified into one system and the importance of art will be increased as well By this reason, More interest in region s identity and art has been shown. When it comes to Music department, It is no longer exception. National music association already has shown a high focus on Busan musician at [Music & Nation] and conducted a seminar with a title [Searching for a root of music]. Following the last year, this study focuses on Taegyun-O, the pioneer of Busan symphonic campaign, by a way of tracking and arranging the activities of Busan music artistes. There are several municipal art group such as Busan municipal symphony orchestra, municipal choir, municipal corps de ballet, municipal boys and girls choir, national classical orchestra, juvenile symphony orchestra and municipal theatricals band. Busan municipal symphony orchestra founded in 1962, marks the 41th anniversary this year and its orchestra campaign has been making great contribution for the development of citizen s emotional life. As a pioneer of an orchestra, a founder of Busan municipal symphony and a permanent music conductor, Taegyun-O had been showing a wide knowledge and great passion at music art and which played a significant roles at Busan music society. Above all, he put the Busan municipal symphony orchestra on a solid foundation and contributed much to the development of music art and had been struggling for enlargement of the lowest stratum of population of the musicians. Eventhough, it is hard to compare the early Busan municipal symphony orchestra with that of present state, their role as pioneer and pure passion laid the foundation of nowaday Busan municipal symphony orchestra which would not be passed over. Taegyun-O also showed the great capability as school administrator and he was occupied the first dean of Busan woman s college and dean of graduate school Busan woman's college was raised to the status of University from march 1992 till late November 1992 and then he was occupied president of the Busan woman's university. He made it for the first time among many artists. Thereafter, Taegyun-O lived 1 year of his life under medical treatment against liver cancer and he passed away in Busan PAIK hospital at oo:o5am April 29, 1995. In view of Taegyun-O's life journey and his music world, this study tries to find better understanding of music history in the region of Busan.

Transmission Electron Microscopy Investigation of Hot-pressed ZrB2-SiC with B4C Additive

        Kim, Seongwon,Chae, Jung-Min,Lee, Sung-Min,Oh, Yoon-Suk,Kim, Hyung-Tae,Jang, Byung-Koog The Korean Ceramic Society 2015 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.52 No.6

This paper reports the microstructure of hot-pressed $ZrB_2$-SiC ceramics with added $B_4C$ as characterized by transmission electron microscopy. $ZrB_2$ has a melting point of $3245^{\circ}C$, a relatively low density of $6.1g/cm^3$, and specific mechanical properties at an elevated temperature, making it a candidate for application to environments with ultra-high temperatures which exceed $2000^{\circ}C$. Due to the non-sinterability of $ZrB_2$-based ceramics, research on sintering aids such as $B_4C$ or $MoSi_2$ has become prominent recently. From TEM investigations, an amorphous layer with contaminant oxide is observed in the vicinity of $B_4C$ grains remaining in hot-pressed $ZrB_2$-SiC ceramics with $B_4C$ as an additive. The effect of a $B_4C$ addition on the microstructure of this system is also discussed.

Effect of Processing Parameters and Powder Size on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Y2O3 Coatings Fabricated by Suspension Plasma Spray

        Kim, Sun-Joo,Lee, Jung-Ki,Oh, Yoon-Suk,Kim, Seongwon,Lee, Sung-Min The Korean Ceramic Society 2015 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.52 No.6

The suspension plasma spray (SPS) technique has been used to obtain dense $Y_2O_3$ coatings and to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional air plasma spray (APS). SPS uses suspensions containing micrometer or sub-micrometer sized powders dispersed in liquid media. In this study, microstructure developments and mechanical properties have been investigated as functions of particle size of source material and plasma processing parameters such as plasma power and stand-off distance. The microstructure of the coating was found to be highly related to the particle size and the plasma processing parameters, and it was directly reflected in the hardness and the adhesion strength. When fine powder (BET $16.4m^2/g$) was used as a raw material in the suspension, there was, with increasing stand-off distance, a change from a dense structure with a slightly bumpy surface to a porous structure with a cauliflower-like surface. On the other hand, when a coarse powder (BET $2.8m^2/g$) was used, the coating density was lower, with microscopic splats on the surface. Using fine $Y_2O_3$ powders, the coating layer with an optimum short stand-off distance showed a high hardness of approximately 90% of that of sintered $Y_2O_3$ and an adhesion strength several times higher than that of the coating by conventional APS.

The Impact of Investment Information Technology-based Fund Attributes on Trust, Satisfaction, Emotional Immersion, and Reinvestment Intentions

        Seongwon Kim,이중만,김홍근 한국데이터전략학회 2023 Journal of information technology applications & m Vol.30 No.5

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of investment fund attributes such as fund product characteristics, returns on fund investment (ROI), internal controls, and after service on fund investor behavior based on investment information technology. In addition, we also examined how customers reinvest through emotional immersion, company trust and company satisfaction of investment firms in the context of fund investment. First, empirical results show that fund product characteristics, returns on fund investment, and financial firms’ internal controls and after service act as signals to fund investors to shape their reinvestment intentions. Second, while investors are generally perceived to be interested only in investment returns, this study also shows that they consider both fund product characteristics and fund investment returns, which are core attributes of funds, as well as financial firms’ internal control and after service, which are non-core attributes. Third, we find that company trust is an important factor in investors’ reinvestment intentions, showing that investors are more likely to reinvest in a fund if they perceive the financial firm to be trustworthy and reliable. Finally, these findings emphasize that investors consider not only tangible aspects of fund products, such as fund product characteristics and returns on fund investment, but also intangible factors, such as financial firms’ internal control and after service, and trustworthiness. Taken together, another implication is that the more advanced the investment information technology of financial firms, the more trust, satisfaction, immersion, and reinvestment intentions of investors will increase.

Residual Stress and Elastic Modulus of Y2O3 Coating Deposited by EB-PVD and its Effects on Surface Crack Formation

        Kim, Dae-Min,Han, Yoon-Soo,Kim, Seongwon,Oh, Yoon-Suk,Lim, Dae-Soon,Kim, Hyung-Tae,Lee, Sung-Min The Korean Ceramic Society 2015 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.52 No.6

Recently, a new $Y_2O_3$ coating deposited using the EB-PVD method has been developed for erosion resistant applications in fluorocarbon plasma environments. In this study, surface crack formation in the $Y_2O_3$ coating has been analyzed in terms of residual stress and elastic modulus. The coating, deposited on silicon substrate at temperatures higher than $600^{\circ}C$, showed itself to be sound, without surface cracks. When the residual stress of the coating was measured using the Stoney formula, it was found to be considerably lower than the value calculated using the elastic modulus and thermal expansion coefficient of bulk $Y_2O_3$. In addition, amorphous $SiO_2$ and crystalline $Al_2O_3$ coatings were similarly prepared and their residual stresses were compared to the calculated values. From nano-indentation measurement, the elastic modulus of the $Y_2O_3$ coating in the direction parallel to the coating surface was found to be lower than that in the normal direction. The lower modulus in the parallel direction was confirmed independently using the load-deflection curves of a micro-cantilever made of $Y_2O_3$ coating and from the average residual stress-temperature curve of the coated sample. The elastic modulus in these experiments was around 33 ~ 35 GPa, which is much lower than that of a sintered bulk sample. Thus, this low elastic modulus, which may come from the columnar feather-like structure of the coating, contributed to decreasing the average residual tensile stress. Finally, in terms of toughness and thermal cycling stability, the implications of the lowered elastic modulus are discussed.
