<i>AKARI</i>OBSERVATION OF THE SUB-DEGREE SCALE FLUCTUATION OF THE NEAR-INFRARED BACKGROUND

<P>We report spatial fluctuation analysis of the sky brightness in the near-infrared from observations toward the north ecliptic pole (NEP) by the AKARI at 2.4 and 3.2 mu m. As a follow-up study of our previous work on the Monitor field of AKARI, we used NEP deep survey data, which covered a circular area of about 0.4 square degrees, in order to extend fluctuation analysis at angular scales up to 1000'. We found residual fluctuation over the estimated shot noise at larger angles than the angular scale of the Monitor field. The excess fluctuation of the NEP deep field smoothly connects with that of the Monitor field at angular scales of a few hundred arcseconds and extends without any significant variation to larger angular scales up to 1000'. By comparing excess fluctuations at two wavelengths, we confirm a blue spectral feature similar to the result of the Monitor field. We find that the result of this study is consistent with Spitzer Space Telescope observations at 3.6 mu m. The origin of the excess fluctuation in the near-infrared background remains to be determined, but we could exclude zodiacal light, diffuse Galactic light, and unresolved faint galaxies at low redshift based on the comparison with mid-and far-infrared brightness, ground-based near-infrared images.</P>

Behaviors of solute elements segregation and primary carbides in the solidification structure of rare earth metals(REM) treated 0.35C-0.45Si-0.33Mn-4.9Cr-1.2Mo-0.8V ingots have been investigated. The important results are summarized as follows. 1) REM addition brought about a remarkable reduction of center-segregation, center-blow hole, and enlargement of equiaxed zone and fine solidification structure. 2) REM addition brought about a remarkable reduction of solute elements segregation area in ingots, so that it resulted in refinement of primary carbides. 3) Crystallized carbides in solute elements segregation area of 5Cr and REM treated ingots were MC of dendrite type and M₂C of skeleton type. Dendrite crystal, solute elements segregation area, and M₂C changed into γ-Fe, MC, M_7C₃, M_(23)C_6 and M_6C by 845℃ soaking treatment. REM addition did not influence on the carbide composition at the same heat treatment.

In this Paper, the effect of stage ceiling height on the acoustic characteristics of rectangular concert halls are investigated. To find out the acoustic properties of audience area, A simple Boston Symphony Hall(BSH) model which is typically rectangular shaped was applied for computer simulation. A newly built rectangular concert hall with 400 seats was also chosen for a scale model $(1.2m{\times}0.68m{\times}0.31m)$ study and its computer simulation varing the stage ceiling height and the volume. The results show that RT increased as the stage ceiling was lowered and the difference rate of RT by its variance is from -0.09 to -0.06[sec/m]. 본 논문에서는 장방형 콘서트홀에서 무대천장높이 변화가 객석의 음향성능에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 먼저 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 객석부에서의 음향 특성을 조사하기 위하여 대표적 장방형 콘서트홀인 Boston Symphony Hall (이하 BSH)의 단순화 모델을 적용하였다. 또한 신축된 400석 규모의 장방형 홀의 축소모형 $(1.2m{\times}0.68m{\times}0.31m)$ 실험과 축소모형의 시뮬레이션을 통하여 무대부 천장높이의 변화에 따른 객석에서의 음향특성의 영향을 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 축소모형실험 및 축소모형실험의 시뮬레이션에서 모두 무대천장높이가 낮아질수록 잔향시간이 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 무대천장 높이에 따른 잔향시간의 변화율은-0.09[sec/m]$\~$-0.061[sec/m]로 나타났다.
