The deployment of security services and assurance of the integrity of today’s technology, and increasing multimedia data is challenging exertion. As vehicle accident data recording system called car black box aid plays a significant role in evidence and court proceedings, it is highly susceptible to forgery attack. Moreover, the integrity of the data must be previously examined before using as an evidence in the investigation. Thus, it is important to develop a secure system that ensures the integrity of data. The best approach for such a system can be selected by level of security it can provide against attacks and efficiency in doing so with resource optimization. In this paper, we propose four different approaches for data integrity of vehicle accident data recoding system. Parameters considered in the analysis are execution time, security, and physical memory requirement. The experimental results show that the algorithm based on the HMAC (Hash-based message authentication code) and ECC (elliptic curve cryptography) have a good performance and is more efficient.
An Architecture of Integrity Check for Accident Video Data Recording System

본 논문에서는 자동차 사고를 기록하는 비디오 영상 기록 장치에 대한 무결성 체크를 위한 보안 알고리듬을 제안한다. 자동차 사고 기록 장치에서는 H.264/AVC로 압축된 압축 비디오 비트스트림을 저장하고 이 저장된 데이터에 대하여 무결성을 보장하여야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC 압축 비디오에 대하여 해시 데이터를 생성하고 이 데이터에 대하여 암호화하여 무결성을 검증하는 방법에 대하여 제안한다. 본 제안방법은 자동차 블랙박스 뿐만 아니라 CCTV와 같은 비디오 무결성을 보장해야 하는 서비스에 범용적으로 이용될 수 있다. Ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of a digital video data in surveillance system is an important and challenging study out of many video applications. This paper presents the algorithm for video integrity security in accident data recording system based on the cryptographic hashing and encryption. The H.264/AVC compressed video is hashed using SHA512 ensuring an integrity and the data confidentiality is addressed via the encryption of hash value.
Ramdomg Hash for Integrity Verification Method of Multimedia Data in Surveillance System

The advancement in technology has led to the enormous use of multimedia applications. The video/image recorded by such applications provides critical information that can be used as a visual evidence. However, owing to the adequacy in using different editing tools, it is susceptible to malicious alterations. Thus, the reliability or the integrity of the visual information should be verified before using it as an evidence. In this paper, we propose an integrity verification method for the surveillance system using randomized hashing. The integrity value of the surveillance data is generated using the randomized hashing and elliptic curve cryptography (ECC), which is used later for the validation. The experimental results obtained from the embedded accident data recorder (ADR) system shows that the proposed method is very efficient and provides a high level of security.
