The benzylic bromination of methoxyimino-o-tolyl-acetic acid methyl ester (1) into (2-bromomethyl-phenyl)-methoxyimino-acetic acid methyl ester (2) using N-bromosuccinimide in the presence of 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile in various reaction solvents were investigated. The efficiency of the reaction was found to be sensitive to the kind of reaction solvents. We found the benzylic bromination of 1 to 2 can be performed in 1,2-dichlorobenzene as reaction solvent superior to the classic Wohl-Ziegler procedure in both reaction time and isolated yield (8 h vs 12 h, 92 vs 79%). This system provides clean, rapid, and high-yielding reactions with replacement of conventional solvents, such as tetrachloromethane, by less-toxic 1,2-dichlorobenzene.

<P>A cyber-physical system depends on stable control and interaction between the many systems and devices connected to the network. Dynamic control middleware, which considers the characteristics of a cyber-physical system, supports the dynamic search and control of devices existing on the global network using Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6). However, systems and devices may connect to a network using a variety of heterogeneous protocols, not just IPv6. To solve the problem of heterogeneous protocols, this paper proposes a routing technique which enables network devices to communicate using different protocols. The proposed network-routing module can register devices with various protocols and improve the stability of the efficient heterogeneous network.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We designed and synthesized strobilurin analogues as hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) inhibitors based on the molecular structure of kresoxim-methyl. Biological evaluation in human colorectal cancer HCT116 cells showed that most of the synthesized kresoxim-methyl analogues possessed moderate to potent inhibitory activity against hypoxia-induced HIF-1 transcriptional activation. Three candidates, compounds <B>11b</B>, <B>11c</B>, and <B>11d</B> were identified as potent inhibitors against HIF-1 activation with IC<SUB>50</SUB> values of 0.60–0.94µM. Under hypoxic condition, compounds <B>11b</B>, <B>11c</B>, and <B>11d</B> increased the intracellular oxygen contents, thereby attenuating the hypoxia-induced accumulation of HIF-1α protein.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P>We report the fabrication of hybrid PN junction diode and complementary (CMOS) inverters, where 2D p-type MoTe2 and n-type thin film InGaZnO (IGZO) are coupled for each device process. IGZO thin film was initially patterned by conventional photolithography either for n-type material in a PN diode or for n-channel of top-gate field-effect transistors (FET) in CMOS inverter. The hybrid PN junction diode shows a good ideality factor of 1.57 and quite a high ON/OFF rectification ratio of similar to 3 x 10(4). Under photons, our hybrid PN diode appeared somewhat stable only responding to high-energy photons of blue and ultraviolet. Our 2D nanosheet oxide film hybrid CMOS inverter exhibits voltage gains as high as similar to 40 at 5 V, low power consumption less than around a few nW at 1 V, and similar to 200 mu s switching dynamics.</P>

<P>Ethyl alpha-(1-hydroxy-1-alkyl)methylallenoates and alpha-(1-hydroxy-1-aryl)methylallenoates containing not only electron-donating groups but also an electron-withdrawing group on the aryl group at the alpha-position have been shown to undergo an efficient and selective copper-catalyzed intramolecular hydroalkoxylation to give functionalized 3-ethoxycarbony1-2-alkyl- and -aryl-2,5-dihydrofurans in good to excellent yields through a 5-endo mode.</P>
