윤상훈(Yoon, Sanghoon),박재영(Park, Jaeyoung) 인천연구원 2015 도시연구 Vol.- No.9
The main purpose of this research is to examine planning factors which can be influential to the satisfaction of visitors with a case study of Kyungin Arabetgil Dumulmeori waterfront eco-park. Waterfront ecological park is a new type of park where waterfront area and ecopark are combined. There are many planning factors that would cause multicollinearity. So the research method was selected PLS regression analysis instead of typical multiple regression analysis. According to the result, the most influential factor in the satisfaction of the service users of the waterfront eco-park is community spaces which visitors are able to communicate each other (VIP rate: 1.242). Other important influential variables are as follows: easy to access (1.138), natural integrity condition as an ecological wetland (1.108), various waterfronts (1.051), guide facilities and information boards (1.036), good inhabiting environment for animals and plantsㆍecosystem protection (1.025) regeneration and restoration of the damaged ecosystem (1.016), accessibility between ecological spaces (1.007). Therefore, it is essential to apply ecological planning factors for improving satisfaction of visitors. It is also important to create some spaces to raising community awareness and park users interaction. Moreover those results suggest that it has to provide well presented basic facilities with easy accessibility and good guide information.
Network-Adaptive Video Streaming over Wireless Multi-Hop Networks: Cross-Layered Hop-by-Hop Control
PARK, SangHoon,YOO, Jaeyong,KIM, JongWon The Institute of Electronics, Information and Comm 2009 IEICE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS - Vol.92 No.7
<P>In this letter, we propose a network-adaptive video streaming scheme based on cross-layered hop-by-hop video rate control in wireless multi-hop networks. We argue that existing end-to-end network-adaptive video rate control schemes, which utilize end-to-end statistics, exhibit serious performance degradation in severely interfered wireless network condition. To cope with this problem, in the proposed scheme, intermediate wireless nodes adjust video sending rate depending upon wireless channel condition measured at MAC (Medium Access Control) layer. Extensive experimental results from an IEEE 802.11a-based testbed show that the proposed scheme improves the perceptual video quality compared to an end-to-end scheme.</P>
Recent Advances in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Park, Sanghoon,Lee, Eun Joo The Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory 2013 Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Vol.74 No.1
The concept on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) pathogenesis has progressed from chronic inflammation to aberrant wounding healing and even more to the current paradigms of a multifactorial and heterogeneous disease process. Despite the growth of clinical trials for IPF, most of the results, including N-acetylcysteine combination, warfarin, and bosentan, were disappointing. On the other hand, there have been a number of important developments; the foremost is the licensing of pirfenidone in Europe and Asia. In this article, we briefly review the recent knowledge of pathogenesis of IPF. We also summarize the recent clinical trials regarding the management of IPF.
Colossal Absorption of Molecules Inside Single Terahertz Nanoantennas
Park, Hyeong-Ryeol,Ahn, Kwang Jun,Han, Sanghoon,Bahk, Young-Mi,Park, Namkyoo,Kim, Dai-Sik American Chemical Society 2013 Nano letters Vol.13 No.4
<P>Molecules have extremely small absorption cross sections in the terahertz range even under resonant conditions, which severely limit their detectability, often requiring tens of milligrams. We demonstrate that nanoantennas tailored for the terahertz range resolves the small molecular cross section problem. The extremely asymmetric electromagnetic environment inside the slot antenna, which finds the electric field being enhanced by thousand times with the magnetic field changed little, forces the molecular cross section to be enhanced by >103 accompanied by a colossal absorption coefficient of ∼170 000 cm–1. Tens of nanograms of small molecules such as 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) and lactose drop-cast over an area of 10 mm2, with only tens of femtograms of molecules inside the single nanoslot, can readily be detected. Our work enables terahertz sensing of chemical and biological molecules in ultrasmall quantities.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/nalefd/2013/nalefd.2013.13.issue-4/nl400374z/production/images/medium/nl-2013-00374z_0001.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/nl400374z'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
A Cross-Layered Network-Adaptive Video Streaming Using Sender-Driven Wireless Channel Monitoring
SangHoon Park,Hayoung Yoon,Jong Won Kim IEEE 2007 IEEE COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS Vol.11 No.7
<P>In this letter, we propose a cross-layered network- adaptive video streaming system employing sender-driven wireless channel monitoring over a wireless LAN (WLAN). An intelligent sender with an embedded wireless access point (AP) estimates time-varying available bandwidth based on the observed transmission statistics of medium access control (MAC) and physical (PHY) layers. The estimated available bandwidth is then utilized to dynamically guide the network-adaptive control of temporally-scalable video flows.</P>

<P>PURPOSE: This study was conducted to investigate the impact of functional polymorphisms in the FAS and FASL genes on the survival of early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Three hundred and thirty-eight consecutive patients with surgically resected NSCLC were enrolled. The FAS -1377G>A (rs2234767) and -670A>G (rs1800682) and FASL -844C>T (rs763110) polymorphisms were investigated. Immunohistochemistry was used to assess FAS protein expression in tumors. The genotype and haplotype associations with survival were analyzed using Cox proportional hazards model, Kaplan-Meier method, and the log-rank test. RESULTS: Patients with the GG and combined AG+GG genotypes of the FAS -670A>G locus had a significantly decreased survival when compared with patients with the AA genotype [adjusted hazard ratio=1.71, 95% confidence interval (95% CI)=1.06-2.77, and P=0.03; and adjusted hazard ratio=1.48, 95% CI=1.01-2.20, and P=0.047, respectively]. In addition, the FAS -1377G/-670G and -1377A/-670G haplotypes exhibited a significantly lower survival compared with the -1377G/-670A haplotype (adjusted hazard ratio=1.87, 95% CI=1.20-2.91, and P=0.006; and adjusted hazard ratio=1.31, 95% CI=1.05-1.65, P=0.02, respectively). Strongly positive FAS immunostaining was significantly less frequent in patients with the FAS -670 AG+GG genotype than in patients with the -670 AA genotype (4.5% versus 10.8%; P=0.04). CONCLUSION: The FAS -670A>G polymorphism may affect survival in early-stage NSCLC. The analysis of the FAS -670A>G polymorphism can help identify patients at high risk for a poor disease outcome.</P>
Text Mining Metal–Organic Framework Papers
Park, Sanghoon,Kim, Baekjun,Choi, Sihoon,Boyd, Peter G.,Smit, Berend,Kim, Jihan American Chemical Society 2018 JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL INFORMATION AND MODELING Vol.58 No.2
<P>We have developed a simple text mining algorithm that allows us to identify surface area and pore volumes of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) using manuscript html files as inputs. The algorithm searches for common units (e.g., m(2)/g, cm(3)/g) associated with these two quantities to facilitate the search. From the sample set data of over 200 MOFs, the algorithm managed to identify 90% and 88.8% of the correct surface area and pore volume values. Further application to a test set of randomly chosen MOF html files yielded 73.2% and 85.1% accuracies for the two respective quantities. Most of the errors stem from unorthodox sentence structures that made it difficult to identify the correct data as well as bolded notations of MOFs (e.g., la) that made it difficult identify its real name. These types of tools will become useful when it comes to discovering structure-property relationships among MOFs as well as collecting a large set of data for references.</P>
