This paper describes maximum torque drive of a vector controlled induction motor. As the instantaneous value of the stator current must be controlled to accomplish the superior vector control characteristic, the current controlled PWM transistor inverter with hysteresis controller is adopted. At steady-state, since the developed motor torque is proportional to the product of the flux and torque component, the motor output torque becomes maximum if the two components are equal. The system block diagram is suggested for maximum torque control. The superior characteristic of the proposed system is verified with digital computer simulation.

Background Nowadays a lot of reseant is based on natural substances or materinals world wide since many kinds of side effects are accompanied by anti tumor chemotherapy. In Chinese medicine, Dioscorea bulbifera L is widely used to treat many kinds ofi cancer, but in Korea it is rarely used. Therefore, we need to scientifically identify anti tumor effects of Dioscorea bulbifera L.Objective: We aimed to identify anti tumor effects of Discorea bulbifera L on the stomach cancer cells through molecular biological methods.Materials & Methods: We used AGS, a stomach cancer cell from American Type Culture Collection We injected the boiled extrat of Dioscorea bulbifera L 5 ul(sample 1), 10u1(sample 2) to cultured media(ml) for 0,6,12,15,24 hours. We measured the killing effect on stomach cancer cells through Tryphan blue exclusion test and suppressive effect on viability of stomach cancer cells via MTT assay Results: Tryphan blue exclusion test showed that each test group killed more stomach cancer cells than the controlled group with a dosage-dependent, but not significantly. MTT assay showed that each test group had a more suppressive effect on viability of stomach cancer cells than the controlled group without a dosage-independent, but not significantly.The cell cycle analysis via flow cytometry showed that the test group extended cell cycle, and there was no peak in M phase, the number of subGl , GO, G1 phase cells increased a little, but not significantly.Conclusion : This experiment showed that Dioscorea bulbifera L. has an anti-tumor effect, but not significantly. This is in vitro experiment and basic experiment on Dioscorea bulbifera L. We hope more progressive researches on Dioscorea bulbifera L. will be conducted and its anit tumor will be more accurately identified.

消化器癌의 症候와 治療에 관한 文獻的 考察

근래 들어 악성종양의 발병률은 점점 상승하고 있으며 소화기암은 전체 악성종양중 높은 발생빈도를 보이는 질병으로 한의학계에서도 치료를 위해 많은 연구를 하고 있다. 소화기암의 증후와 치료에 관하여 ??膈, 反胃, 積聚, 臟毒을 위주로 明ㆍ淸代까지의 歷代 文獻을 통해 考票한 결과 이는 복강내 악성종양과 증후에 있어서 유사성을 나타내며 치료는 초기에는 祛邪法을, 중기에는 攻補兼施를, 후기에는 扶正法을 위주로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 역대 문헌에서는 이에 대한 처방구성을 다양하게 언급하여 향후 소화기암 치료에 응용할 수 있을 것으로 思料된다. In these days, the outbreak rate of a malignant tumor is gradually increasing, and the frequency of digestive organ's cancer is so high that the remedy is being studied in the Oriental Medicine Worid. I made a consideration the Erlgyuk(?膈), the Panwue(反胃), the Juckchui(績聚), the Jangdok(臟毒), on the symptom and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer, with the successsive literatures of the Myung and Chung Dynasty. In consequence, these are similar to the symtom of malignant tumor in abdominal cabity, and the the treatment is divided into three stages by each period. The Geosa-method(祛邪決) is used in the early stage, and in the middle the Gongbokyumsi-me��攻補兼施), and in the latter stage the Pujung-method(扶正法) is used. The successiv literatures shows the prescription of gastrointestinal cancer in variety. Therefore, I thinf the various prescription will be applied to gastrointestinal cancer on forward.

기능성 소화불량증 환자에 대한 반하사심탕 엑기스제의 임상효과

Objective : We evaluated the therapeutic effect of Banwhasasimtang dry extract powder on gastrointestinal symptoms and its side effects in patients with functional dyspepsia. Methods : Patients with functional dyspepsia, defined as discomfort in the epigastrium. A total 45 patients participated participated in this study. Dyspeptic symptoms ratio was obtained by patients, total point of symptom score / total 21 points x 100(%). On each of symptom after 4 weeks administration of Banwhasashim-tang was made by variation of symptom score: If symptoms score of posttreatment is lower than that of pretreatment, It is improved ; Otherwise aggravated, and if there is no change between them, unchangeable. When a full health condition of normal control is assumed 100%, relative health condition of dyspeptic patient could be calculated from 'full health condition- dyspeptic symptoms ratio. Therefore a whole satisfaction rate on symptom improvement was presented with variation of a relative health condition to dyspepsia between pretreatment and post. Results : Banwhasashimtang significantly unproved symptoms in patients. The significance was shown in both all seven items(p< 0.01, respectively) and 19.2% (p<0.01) of increase of a whole symptom improvement. There is no remarkable side-effect in all laboratory test, excepting 1 case abdominal pain another one case of recurred pain of chronic prostatitis. Conclusion : Banwhasashimtang extract provides symptomatic relief in functional dyspepsia and is no remarkable side-effect drug.

Effects of N fertilizer levels and stocking rates on beef production in a mixed pastiire of orchard-grass, perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, red clover and alsike clover were studied using 3 levels of N fertilizer (50, 100 and 200 kg/ha) and 3 stocking rates (3,4 and 5 head /ha). The summarized results are the following; 1. Increasing nitrogen fertilizer on the mixed pasture increased dry matter yield and protein content(P<0.05) of the pasture species. The stocking rate did not influence either dry matter yield or protein content. 2. The percentage of pasture species increased and that of weeds decreased with increasing N fer-tilizer levels. lncreasing stocking rate from 3 to 5 heads/ha significantly influenced that of the other pastures and weeds. 3. Herhage intake per animal increased at the lower stocking rate, but total herbage intake per ha increased at the higher stocking rate, Increasing nitrogen fertilizer decreased herbage intake per animal , but slightly higher intake per animal was obserbed at 5 head stocking rate. 4. No significant difference in weight gain/ha was found among N levels and stocking rates ussd. Live weight gain per animal was greater at the higher N level and also at the louer stocking rate.

분심기음의 항암작용 및 면역기능에 관한 연구

This study was performed to investigate the effect of Bunsimgieum on antitumor effect after sarcoma-180 cells transplantation into peritoneal cavity or left groin and immune responses on the depressed immunity induced by methotrexate in mice. The Bunsimgieum extract of 10㎎/㎏ was orally administered 14 days for antitumor effects and 21 days for immune responses. 50% inhibitory concentration(IC_(50)) of SUN-1, SUN-C4. and SUN-396 cancer cell, mean sunvival days and body weight of tumor bearing mice, and growth of tumor mass for antitumor effect; delayed type hypersentivity, hemagglutinin titer, hemolysis titer, rosette forming cells, natured killer cell activity, lymphocyte transformation. productivity of interleukin-2 and phagocytic activity for their immune responses were measured in ICR mice. Significance in antitumor effect is noted in the enlongation of mean life days and inhibition of tumor growth(p<0.01 respectively). Significance of immune responses is also noted in hemolysis titer, lymphocyte transfumotion IL-2 productivity, phagocytic activity, and natural killer cell activity at E/T ratio 100 : 1(p<0.01, respectively). Significant in rosette cell formation was seen dosage of 20㎎/㎏(p<0.01) However, Difference of body weight as antitumor effect, delayed type hypersensitivity, and hemagglutinin titer were not shown significantly. According to the above results, it could be suggested that Bunsimgieum has prominent antitumor and immunity enhancing effect.

간세포암의 십이지장침윤에 의한 상부위장관 출혈 1 예

Recent advances in both the diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma have improved the prognosis and changed the clinical significance of the recently increasing distant metastases. Distant metastases found after successful treament of the primary lesions are of great clinical significance for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. The duodenum is a rare site of hematogenous metastases or direct invasion from hepatocellular carcinoma. A 23 year old man was admitted with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. He had been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma and treated by a left lobectomy and chemoembolization. The patient was admittted for 12 months after the treatment of the primary tumor. Endoscopic examination revealed a mass in the duodenal bulb that protruded into the lumen. He died due to massive hematemesis. We report on a rare case of hepatocellular carcinoma with duodenal invasion in a 23-year-old male patient.

消癌去痰益氣湯의 cyclophosphamide 부작용 형성 억제효과

Object : It is well known that modern chemotherapy against cancer has side effcts to a living body, especially hemopoietic and immunologial disfunctions. However, there are no effctive ways to reduce them.Recently, traditonal Korean herb medicine has been repoted to have some biological modifying responses. Therefore, we hypothesized that additional application of herb medicine during chemotherapy is more effective to reduce its side effects. While we were studying the effects, we have observed the inhibitory effect of Soamgudamikgitang on formation of side effects derived from Cyclophosphamide, it has been used in clinical practice at Kyung Hee Medicd Center.Methods : We injected 200㎎/㎏ of Cyclophosphamide, one time, to an experimental group, consisting of ten mice. We divided them into eight groups: normal, CPX, SAKT 2㎎, SAKT 10㎎, SAKT 50㎎, SAKI 2㎎+CPX, SAKT 10㎎+CPX, SAKT 50㎎+CPX. We injeted Soamgudamikgitang seven days, five days, three days, and one day before we injected CPX. One day, three days, and five days after CPX injection, we injected Soamgudamikgitang again and then killed all the mice.The parameters determined in this experiment were daily body weight liver and spleen weight, RBC, WBC, and platelet for hemopoietic dysfunction and AST, ALT for hepatotoxicity, BUN, creatine for renal toxcity, Iymphocyte proliferation activity and lymphocyte subsets for immunological toxvity.Results : We have found that Soamgdamikgitang has inhibitory effects on the formation of Cyclophosphamide 's side effects. Significant differences between the group, which contained Cyclophosphamide, and the other group, which contains Cyclophosphamide and 2, 10, 50㎎ of Soamgudamikgitang respectively were observed. Platelets(2㎎ of Soamgudamikgitang, p<O.05 ;10㎎, p<0.Ol ;50㎎, p<0.001), liver weight(SOw p.001), spieen weight(10mg, p<0.05), AST(all groups, p<0.01), ALT(2㎎, p<001 ;10㎎, p<O.05 ;50㎎, p<0.01), BUN(2㎎, p<0.01 ;50㎎, p<0.05). Althought immunological in both lymphocyte proliferation and its subsets were not observed, which shows that Soamgudamikgilang has a strong effect on T cell activities Conclusions : From the above results, we can expect that the combined therapy of Soamgudamikgitang and Cyclophosphamide is more effective for treating cancer Patients.

Prospective validation of P2/MS noninvasive index using complete blood counts for detecting oesophageal varices in B-viral cirrhosis

<P>Abstract</P><P>Backgrounds</P><P>Periodic endoscopic screening for oesophageal varices (OVs) and prophylactic treatment for high-risk OVs (HOVs; medium/large OVs or small OVs plus red sign/decompensation) are currently recommended for all cirrhotic patients. However, if a simple, noninvasive test is available, many low-risk patients may reliably avoid endoscopy.</P><P>Aims</P><P>We conducted a large-scale validation study of a simple, noninvasive test called P2/MS based on complete blood counts, (platelet count)<SUP>2</SUP>/[monocyte fraction (%) × segmented neutrophil fraction (%)], and compared it with other predictive tests for HOVs in B-viral cirrhotic patients.</P><P>Methods</P><P>From 2008 to 2009, we prospectively enrolled 318 consecutive B-viral cirrhotic patients. All underwent endoscopy and laboratory evaluation.</P><P>Results</P><P>An area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of P2/MS was 0.941 for HOVs, comparable with those of the age–spleen platelet ratio index (0.922, <I>P</I>=0.317) and spleen–platelet ratio index (0.922, <I>P</I>=0.324), and better than those of age–platelet index (0.653, <I>P</I><0.001), aspartate aminotransferase (AST)–platelet ratio index (0.871, <I>P</I><0.006) and AST-alanine aminotransferase ratio (0.644, <I>P</I><0.001). P2/MS<11 reliably identified 83 patients as having HOVs (94.0% positive predictive value), while at a cutoff of 25 and 179 as not having HOVs (94.4% negative predictive value). Overall, P2/MS reliably determined the likelihood of HOVs in 262 patients (82.4%). These cutoffs were validated internally using bootstrap resampling methods, which showed good agreement.</P><P>Conclusions</P><P>P2/MS is a simple, accurate and economical method, reducing the need for endoscopy in B-viral cirrhosis. Patients with P2/MS<11 should be considered for appropriate prophylactic treatments, while those with P2/MS>25 may avoid endoscopy reliably.</P>
