        전략의 영향

        엄청난 과학의 발전에 따라 인류와 기업은 풍부하게 살아가고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 왜 아직도 기업들은 변함없이 치열한 “경쟁”을 하고 있는가? 물론, 기업마다 상황이 달라서, “경쟁”을 함에 있어 모든 기업이 어려운 것은 아니다. 아무리 경쟁이 심화되어도 효율성 넘치고 효과적으로 자신을 잘 지키고 계속적으로 이기는 기업도 많다. 그렇다면, 이렇게 경쟁을 잘 해서 계속 이기는 기업과, 또 반대로 그렇지 못한 기업 사이에는 과연 어떠한 차이가 있는 것인가? 이 문제에 대해 생각해 보고자 이 논문을 진행하게 되었다. 나아가 탐색과 활용이라는 개념들이 어떻게 해서, 전략을 수립할 때 영향을 미치게 되는지 등, 여러 가지로 열악하여 많이 부족한 연구가 되었지만, 그래도 미비 하기는 하나 결국, 제대로 된 전략이 있는 기업과 그렇지 못한 기업이 바로 그 승패의 차이점 이라는 것을 알게 된것에 의미를 둔다. 물론, 전략만 있다고 무조건 성공하는 것은 아니다. 반드시 효율성과 효과적인 성과가 가능한 전략이어야 경쟁에 이긴다는 것을 강조해야 한다. Many regard the key asset of a competitive firm in its ability of establishing a winning business strategy. Indeed, despite the company’s abundant resources and competitive positioning, unless it has the ability to foster and solidify a resourceful business strategy, sustainable growth plus returns are challenges to maintain. According to Michael Porter (1996), the definition of strategy is reminded that “competitive strategy involves positioning a business to maximize the value of the capabilities that distinguish it from its competitors”. With such distinguished capabilities the firm has the opportunity to win for a long time, which is the core objective of a corporation. Hence, given the significance of what strategy entails, the key topic to discuss in the paper is directed in the following questions - although the current world is with much abundance than prior, why so many companies are still failing? Also, how can exploration and exploitation be instrumental in the development of a business strategy? And finally, do the businesses really understand the significance of strategy, and have an appropriate competitive strategy that is being incorporated? Herewith, the paper is to explore the reasons behind the significance of business strategy and the influence it may have in relations to exploration and exploitation which can be sought as a resolution for companies to be more successful than not.

        Emotional Leadership, Leader Legitimacy, and Work Engagement in Retail Distribution Industry

        Purpose: The study examines how emotional leadership affects employee attitude towards work engagement. Leader legitimacy perception is chosen as the mediating variable to understand the effect of emotional leadership on employee work engagement. Research design, data and methodology: The research model is based on theory and empirical research findings in order to examine the mediating effect of leader legitimacy perception on the relationship between the manager’s emotional leadership and employee work engagement. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among 188 employees of domestic retail distributors. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and survey data confirmed the construct, and the hypothesis was tested by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results: a) Emotional leadership has positive influence on leader legitimacy; b) Leader legitimacy is positively related to work engagement; c) Leader legitimacy mediates a positive relationship between emotional leadership and work engagement. However, there is no direct effect on work engagement (of employees) from emotional leadership standpoint. Conclusion: Based on the empirical results, implications and future research directions are discussed.

        The Effect of Workforce Restructuring on Withdrawal Behavior: The Role of Job Insecurity, Career Plateau and Procedural Justice

        This study examines the direct effect of workforce restructuring on the withdrawal behavior and mediating effect of perceived job insecurity. Empirically it also explores the moderating effect of career plateau and procedural justice on the above relationship. The study focuses on the mediating role of job insecurity and the moderating role of career plateau in relations to procedural justice, which will concentrate on the relationship between workforce restructuring and withdrawal behavior. For the empirical study, we collected and analyzed 442 survey data from employees of Korean companies. SPSS 24 is used for reliability, correlation and regression analysis. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, perceived job insecurity mediated the relationship between workforce restructuring and withdrawal behavior. Second, content career plateau had a negative moderating effect on the relationship between workforce restructuring and job insecurity. Finally, the moderating effect of procedural justice was not supported. This research extend workforce restructuring and career plateau related studies; by exploring the mediating variable and moderating variable on the relationship between workforce restructuring and the pertaining outcomes. Based on the results, we provide theoretical and practical implications along with future research recommendations.
