Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) plays a central role in folate metabolism. This study with 381 esophageal cancer patients and 432 healthy controls was conducted to examine the association of MTHFR C677T and A1298C polymorphisms with susceptibility to esophageal cancer (EC) in a Chinese population. Compared with the CC genotype of MTHFR C677T, subjects carrying homozygote TT and variant genotypes (CT+TT) demonstrated reduced risk of EC with adjusted ORs (95% CI) of 0.44 (0.28-0.71) and 0.57 (0.37-0.88), respectively. However, no association was found between the MTHFR A1298C polymorphism and the risk of EC. Comparing to haplotype CA, haplotypes TA and TC could reduce the susceptibility to EC with adjusted ORs (95% CI) of 0.61(0.47-0.79) and 0.06 (0.01-0.43), respectively. In conclusion, the present study suggested that the MTHFR C677T polymorphism can markedly influence the risk of EC in Chinese.

The problem of load fuctuation in the distribution network and increasing power grid cost input caused by the unpredictable behavior of electric vehicle (EV) users in response to electricity price is investigated in this paper. An optimization model method for the charging and discharging price of electric vehicles is proposed, considering the vehicle owner response and power grid cost. The rule of EV user travel is frst analyzed, and the travel and battery state constraints are defned. Under the constraints of user charging and discharging behavior and battery characteristics, a user transfer rate and unit energy cost function is designed to construct a multi-objective model of charging and discharging price that minimizes electricity expenditure and avoids an increase in power grid investment. Finally, an improved multi-target fsh swarm algorithm is presented to solve the model optimization problem. The example analysis shows that the proposed method can reduce the peak-valley load diference of the system and cost input of the power grid, as well as provide users with regulation ability to access the power grid at diferent time periods
Probability Prediction Method of Short‑Term Electricity Price Based on Quantile Neural Network Model
Zhaoyang Qu,Manyang Gao,Yuqing Liu,Hongbo Lv,Jian Sun,Miao Li,Wei Liu,Mingshi Cui 대한전기학회 2020 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.15 No.2
Aiming at the inaccuracy of short-term electricity price forecasting in competitive power markets, a probabilistic short-term electricity price forecasting method based on the quantile neural network model is proposed. First, a method for selecting electricity price similarity based on comprehensive infuencing factors is designed to select the forecast data set with similar characteristics to the forecast date. The similar daily quantile regression algorithm is then combined with the generalized dynamic fuzzy neural network to construct a quantile neural network electricity price model for obtaining the predicted daily electricity price condition quantile. Finally, the kernel density function is used to convert the predicted daily electricity price condition quantile into the predicted probability density curve to realize short-term electricity price probability prediction. The data of the electricity market of the city of Dayton, Ohio in the United States is used as an example. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can efectively improve the accuracy of short-term electricity price forecasting
EFFECT OF DIRECT IN-CYLINDER CO2 INJECTION ON HCCI COMBUSTION AND EMISSION CHARACTERISTICS
S. QU,K. DENG,L. SHI,Y. CUI 한국자동차공학회 2009 International journal of automotive technology Vol.10 No.5
Fuel injection during negative valve overlap period was used to realize diesel homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) combustion. In order to control the combustion, CO2 in-cylinder injection was used to simulate external EGR. Effects of CO2 injection parameters (injection timing, quantity, pressure) on HCCI combustion and emission characteristics were investigated. Experimental results revealed that CO2 in-cylinder injection can control the start of combustion and effectively reduce NOx emission. Either advancing CO2 injection timing or increasing CO2 injection quantity can reduce peak cylinder pressure and mean gas temperature, delay the starts of low temperature reaction (LTR) and high temperature reaction (HTR), and lower pressure rise rate; NOx emission was reduced, while smoke, HC, and CO emissions increased. Since the combustion phase was improved, the indicated thermal efficiency was also improved. Injection pressure determines the amount of disturbance introduced into the cylinder. Generally, with the same injection quantity, higher injection pressure results in higher momentum flux and total momentum. Larger momentum flux and momentum has a stronger disturbance to air-fuel mixture, resulting in a more homogeneous mixture; therefore, larger injection pressure leads to lower NOx and smoke emissions. MED19 is a member of the Mediator that plays a key role in the activation and repression of signal transduction or the regulation of transcription in carcinomas. To tested the functional role of MED19 in human prostate cancer, we downregulated MED19 expression in prostate cancer cells (PC-3 and DU145) by lentivirus- mediated short hairpin (shRNA), and analyzed the effect of inhibition of MED19 on prostate cancer cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. The in vitro prostate cancer cell proliferation, colony formation, and in vivo tumor growth in nude mice xenografts was significantly reduced after the downregulation of MED19. Knock- down of MED19 caused S-phase arrest and induced apoptosis via modulation of Bid and Caspase 7. It was suggested that MED19 serves as a novel proliferation regulator that promotes growth of prostate cancer cells. [BMB reports 2011; 44(8): 547-552]

In this work, a novel jig dyeing apparatus for dyeing polyester with supercritical carbon dioxide was designed andsuccessfully constructed. The built-in dye boxes set inside and guide roller to increase the exposure area of single layer fabricwere the two most attractive features of the equipment. Polyester was dyed at a temperature of 130 oC, the pressure of27 MPa. The colorfastness was analyzed as a function of polyester running speed. Under the condition that the polyester'srunning speed was 4 m/s, the fastness to staining, the fastness to fading, and the fastness to rubbing were rated at a grade of 3-4, 4-5, and 4, respectively. Dyeing properties complied with the expected requirements.
Experimental Study of Adaptive Sliding Mode Control for Vibration of a Flexible Rectangular Plate
Yang, Jingyu,Liu, Zhiqi,Cui, Xuanming,Qu, Shiying,Wang, Chu,Lanwei, Zhou,Chen, Guoping The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Scie 2015 International Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sc Vol.16 No.1
This paper aims to address the intelligent active vibration control problem of a flexible rectangular plate vibration involving parameter variation and external disturbance. An adaptive sliding mode (ASM) MIMO control strategy and smart piezoelectric materials are proposed as a solution, where the controller design can deal with problems of an external disturbance and parametric uncertainty in system. Compared with the current 'classical' control design, the proposed ASM MIMO control strategy design has two advantages. First, unlike existing classical control algorithms, where only low intelligence of the vibration control system is achieved, this paper shows that high intelligent of the vibration control system can be realized by the ASM MIMO control strategy and smart piezoelectric materials. Second, the system performance is improved due to two additional terms obtained in the active vibration control system. Detailed design principle and rigorous stability analysis are provided. Finally, experiments and simulations were used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy using a hardware prototype based on NI instruments, a MATLAB/SIMULINK platform, and smart piezoelectric materials.
