An ANN-based gesture recognition algorithm for smart-home applications
( Phat Nguyen Huu ),( Quang Tran Minh ),( Hoang Lai The ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.5
The goal of this paper is to analyze and build an algorithm to recognize hand gestures applying to smart home applications. The proposed algorithm uses image processing techniques combing with artificial neural network (ANN) approaches to help users interact with computers by common gestures. We use five types of gestures, namely those for Stop, Forward, Backward, Turn Left, and Turn Right. Users will control devices through a camera connected to computers. The algorithm will analyze gestures and take actions to perform appropriate action according to users requests via their gestures. The results show that the average accuracy of proposal algorithm is 92.6 percent for images and more than 91 percent for video, which both satisfy performance requirements for real-world application, specifically for smart home services. The processing time is approximately 0.098 second with 10 frames/sec datasets. However, accuracy rate still depends on the number of training images (video) and their resolution.
STABILITY AND CONSTRAINED CONTROLLABILITY OF LINEAR CONTROL SYSTEMS IN BANACH SPACES
Phat, Vu-Ngoc,Park, Jong-Yeoul,Jung, Il-Hyo Korean Mathematical Society 2000 대한수학회지 Vol.37 No.4
For linear time-varying control systems with constrained control described by both differential and discrete-time equations in Banach spaces was give necessary and sufficient conditions for exact global null-controllability. We then show that for such systems, complete stabilizability implies exact null-controllability.

One of the main factors restricting production of triploid seedless watermelon is poor germination due to weak embryos, thick seed coats, and larger air spaces. This study was carried out to investigate the priming effects of different concentrations of chemicals, including hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$), fusicoccin, and gibberellic acid (GA) on germination and seedling uniformity of triploid watermelon (Citrullus lanatus). Three commercial triploid cultivars, Seedless Plus, Sinus, and Sizero, were pretreated with water and different levels of $H_2O_2$ (2 and 4%), fusicoccin (FC: 1, 5, and $10{\mu}M$), and GA (1, 5, and $10{\mu}M$). The present findings helped to find optimal priming conditions for improving germination of triploid watermelon. Treatment with $5{\mu}M$ GA and hydropriming helped to break seed dormancy, enhancing the final germination percentages in all triploid cultivars and increasing the germination index in Sizero. These seed-priming treatments could be used on large scale for industrial applications. Moreover, hydropriming provides a simple, effective, and costless method to improve seed germination and seedling vigor of Sinus and Sizero varieties.
