This study is trying to specifically search for the best approach ot learning motivation which is one of the most significant factors in improving learning ability, based on attribution theory (locus of control theory). As a result, the conclusions are as follows: 1. The procedure of Individual counseling for learning attribution based on individual standard grades and data of the variable order of merit apparently shows learners that if learners are to try their best in learning, they will surely go far in terms of learning in the near future. 2. The procedure of Individual counseling for learning attribution based on achievement distribution in individual behavior-oriented fields suggests to learners that how to learn is as important as how much effort they make. Surely enough, learners are required to make more effective and efficient efforts, considering their own learning abilities. 3. Above all, it was confirmed that the learners' struggling attitude might well have a significant correlation with achievement sucess.

In this study, the relationship between strength and damping capacity of annealed magnesium alloysafter hot rolling was investigated. The microstructure of hot rolled magnesium consisted of dendrite structure andMg17Al12 compounds precipitated along the grain boundary. The dendrite structure was dissipated, Mg17Al12 compoundswas decomposed by annealing, and then its dissolved in α-Mg. With an increasing the annealing temperatureand time, strength was slowly decreased and damping capacity was slowly increased by the growth of grainsize and decreasing of defects induced by hot rolling. In annealing treatmented magnesium alloys after hot rolling,damping capacity was decreased rapidly with an increase of strength. There was on proportional relationshipbetween tensile strength, and damping capacity.

For the purpose of turning learners' locus of control into internal-controllable variables, counseling materials were developed, and attribution counseling was given. The counseling effects were practically confirmed by way of teaching and evaluation in the actual classes, and furthermore the efforts to provide learners with successful experiences in learning were repeatedly made. As a result, the conclusions are as follows: 1. The procedure of Individual counseling for learning attribution based on individual standard grades and data of the variable order of merit apparently shows learners that if learners are to try their best in learning, they will surely go far in terms of learning in the near future. 2. The procedure of Individual counseling for learning attribution based on achievement distribution in individual behaviour-oriented fields suggests to learners that how to learn is as important as how much effort they make. Surely enough, learners are required to make more effective and efficient efforts, considering their own learning abilities. 3. With the above 1, 2 procedures involved, learners have attributed locus of causality in achievement to their internal-controllable causes. 4. With preparatory assignments according to learner's abilities provided, even slower learners came to be assured that their constant efforts could give rise to success in learning achievement. 5. Above all, it was confirmed that the learners' struggling attitude might well have a significant correlation with achievement sucess. The learners who are willing to attribute locus of causality in achievement to their internal-controllable causes or strenuous efforts and intrinsic motivation tend to be convinced that they can address themselves to whatever faces them, so they can set up specific learning goals fit for their abilities. Accordingly, they will bit by bit acquire successful experiences (often called 'Aha' experiences) and in turn, feeling the senses of self-efficacy and self-esteem enough to push their efforts even further, they can grow to form a positive self-concept. With one successful experience after another fed back into learners, they are gradually motivated to bring the oncoming achievement expectation to a higher level. To conclude, it is necessary that instruction leading to internal-controllable attribution should be provided, inducing learners to recognize success and failure in learning achievement as a result of their strenuous efforts.

Purpose To meet changing social demands and fulfill the needs of the information and communications technology industry, the curriculum of MIS related department should develop and implement new conceptual frameworks. In response, the purpose of this study was to develop curriculum for students in the Department of e-Business at Kyungnam University. Design/methodology/approach We conducted a demands analysis of educational demanders, NCS(National Competency Standards) based curricular analysis, and benchmarking from other management information systems related departments. The expert panel committee consisting of e-Business department faculty members was held to examine and discuss the student-oriented curriculum developed during this study. Findings Results show that the contents and types of curriculum should be organized so that students can maximize their professional job competency to apply to their core professional tasks. Given these findings, we reconstructed the curriculum with both basic and advanced courses, all systematically organized according to the job requirements they offer toward meeting the industry’s needs. We also implemented the web-based JSSS(Job Searching Support System) with which educational demanders can search among 13 job types, estimate their performances, and obtain the information about course registration. In all this study presents specific, practical evidence of the job-related curriculum for students in the Department of e-Business at Kyungnam University.

<P>Turanose is a sucrose isomer naturally existing in honey and a promising functional sweetener due to its low glycemic response. In this study, the extrinsic fructose effect on turanose productivity was examined in Neisseria amylosucrase reaction. Turanose was produced, by increasing the amount of extrinsic fructose as a reaction modulator, with high concentration of sucrose substrate, which resulted in 73.7% of production yield. In physiological functionality test, lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in the presence of high amounts of pure glucose was attenuated by turanose substitution in a dose-dependent manner. Turanose treatments at concentrations representing 50%, 75%, and 100% of total glucose concentration in cell media significantly reduced lipid accumulation by 18%, 35%, and 72%, respectively, as compared to controls. This result suggested that turanose had a positive role in controlling adipogenesis, and enzymatic process of turanose production has a potential to develop a functional food ingredient for controlling obesity and related chronic diseases.</P>

<P>New phenylpyrimido[1,2-c]thienopyrimidinones 4A and 4B were easily prepared in good yields by the one-pot reaction of formamidine derivatives 2 of 4-aminothienopyrimidine 1 with phenylacetyl chlorides. The application of this convenient and reliable method could be used for the synthesis of a variety of pyrimido[1,2-c]thienopyrimidinone derivatives of biological importance. Some of the compounds synthesized showed strong IL-6/STAT3 inhibition.</P>
A Cell-based Method to Monitor the Interaction between Hepatitis B Virus Capsid and Surface Proteins

Interactions between the surface and capsid proteins of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) are critical for the assembly of virus particles. In this study, we developed a cell-based method to visualize the interactions between the capsid and surface proteins of HBV. Capsid-GFP, a capsid protein fused to a green fluorescence protein (GFP), forms nucleocapsid-like structures in the cytoplasm of mammalian cells. It relocates to the plasma membranes in cells expressing PH-PreS, a fusion protein consisting of the PreS region of the HBV surface protein and the PH domain of PLC-$\gamma$. Membrane localization of the capsid-GFP in these cells is prevented by an inhibitory peptide that blocks the interaction between the capsid and surface proteins. This dynamic localization of capsid-GFP is applicable for screening compounds that may potentially inhibit or prevent the assembly process of HBV particles.

<P><B>ABSTRACT</B></P><P>Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (ARSs) acylate transfer (t)RNAs with amino acids. Charging tRNAs with the right amino acids is the first step in translation; therefore, the accurate and error-free functioning of ARSs is an essential prerequisite for translational fidelity. A recent study found that methionine (Met) can be incorporated into non-Met residues of proteins through methionylation of non-cognate tRNAs under conditions of oxidative stress. However, it was not understood how this mis-methionylation is achieved. Here, we report that methionyl-tRNA synthetase (MRS) is phosphorylated at Ser209 and Ser825 by extracellular signal-related kinase (ERK1/2) under conditions of stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS), and that this phosphorylated MRS shows increased affinity for non-cognate tRNAs with lower affinity for tRNA<SUP>Met</SUP>, leading to an increase in Met residues in cellular proteins. The expression of a mutant MRS containing the substitutions S209D and S825D, mimicking dual phosphorylation, reduced ROS levels and cell death. This controlled inaccuracy of MRS seems to serve as a defense mechanism against ROS-mediated damage at the cost of translational fidelity.</P>
Analysis of Differentially Expressed Genes in Cloned Bovine Placenta

Placenta is the main nutrition source for the fetus during pregnancy. Thus, it has a pivotal function in the pregnant process. Many functions of the placenta have been elucidated. An abnormal placenta is associated with a high rate of pregnancy failure in somatic cloned bovine. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were examined in a comparison between normal and cloned bovine placenta using annealing control primer (ACP)-based GeneFishing PCR. Using 120 ACPs, nearly 80 genes were identified and the fragments of 42 DEGs were sequenced. 38 of these genes were known genes and four were unknown. To determine the DEGs result, six target clones expressing on one-side of a normal and a clone placenta were selected. Through an analysis of the target genes using the real-time PCR, the expressing pattern was found to be somewhat different from the DEGs. Additionally, several genes appeared with the same expression pattern. Taken together, this suggests that the target genes would be essential for research into what influences the placental formative mechanisms during fetal development.
