Developing a System Dynamic Model for Pharmacy Industry

        Nazli Akhlaghinia,Ali Rajabzadeh Ghatari,Abbas Moghbel,Ali Yazdian 대한산업공학회 2018 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.17 No.4

The pharma industry is beginning to realize the benefits of the internet of thing (IOT), especially through modularization, which is already in the detailed implementation and usage stage. pharmatical manufactures that implement IOTtechnologies can more easily meet requirements for serialization and have the opportunity to leverage intelligent datathat are already required in the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Using system dynamics model, this studyevaluate alternative IOT strategies through investment lens, to provide managers guidance for IOT decisions. In thispaper we propose a model of system dynamics for IOT in pharma industry. This study evaluates alternative IOT investmentstrategies to provide managers guidance for efficient decisions. This paper investigates the typical productionlogistic execution processes and adopts system dynamics to design cost-effective IoT solutions. The internal andexternal production logistic processes are first investigated separately. Using sensitivity analysis, the optimal IoT solutionsare evaluated and analyzed to provide guidance on IoT implementation. Internal and external production logisticprocesses are then combined into an integrated structure to offer a generic system dynamics approach.

Factors associated with survival after relapse in patients with low-risk endometrial cancer treated with surgery alone

        Nazli Topfedaisi Ozkan,Mehmet Mutlu Meydanlı,Mustafa Erkan Sarı,Fuat Demirkiran,Ilker Kahramanoglu,TUGAN BESE,Macit Arvas,Hanifi Şahin,Ali Haberal,Husnu Celik,Gonca Coban,Tufan Oge,Omer Tarik Yalcin,Ö 대한부인종양학회 2017 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.28 No.5

Objective: To determine factors influencing overall survival following recurrence (OSFR) inwomen with low-risk endometrial cancer (EC) treated with surgery alone. Methods: A multicenter, retrospective department database review was performed to identifypatients with recurrent “low-risk EC” (patients having less than 50% myometrial invasion[MMI] with grade 1 or 2 endometrioid EC) at 10 gynecologic oncology centers in Turkey. Demographic, clinicopathological, and survival data were collected. Results: We identified 67 patients who developed recurrence of their EC after initially beingdiagnosed and treated for low-risk EC. For the entire study cohort, the median time torecurrence (TTR) was 23 months (95% confidence interval [CI]=11.5–34.5; standard error[SE]=5.8) and the median OSFR was 59 months (95% CI=12.7–105.2; SE=23.5). We observed32 (47.8%) isolated vaginal recurrences, 6 (9%) nodal failures, 19 (28.4%) peritoneal failures, and 10 (14.9%) hematogenous disseminations. Overall, 45 relapses (67.2%) were locoregionalwhereas 22 (32.8%) were extrapelvic. According to the Gynecologic Oncology Group(GOG) Trial-99, 7 (10.4%) out of 67 women with recurrent low-risk EC were qualified as highintermediaterisk (HIR). The 5-year OSFR rate was significantly higher for patients with TTR≥36 months compared to those with TTR <36 months (74.3% compared to 33%, p=0.001). On multivariate analysis for OSFR, TTR <36 months (hazard ratio [HR]=8.46; 95% CI=1.65–43.36; p=0.010) and presence of HIR criteria (HR=4.62; 95% CI=1.69–12.58; p=0.003) weresignificant predictors. Conclusion: Low-risk EC patients recurring earlier than 36 months and those carrying HIRcriteria seem more likely to succumb to their tumors after recurrence.

The use of magnetic and geoelectrical methods to locate buried ancient artificial canals and wells around the cultural heritage of Indrapatra Fort, Aceh, Indonesia

        Nazli Ismail,Muhammad Yanis,Amir Asyqari 한국지질과학협의회 2023 Geosciences Journal Vol.27 No.1

The application of magnetic and geoelectrical methods for archaeological study is presented in this paper. The study was intended to map near-surface structures around the Indrapatra Fort, the 16th-century fortification built during the Early Aceh Sultanate in the north of Sumatra. Some of the structures around the fort have been buried after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami or even by previous paleotsunami deposits. The ground magnetic measurements were performed over an area of 6 750 m2 using a high-resolution Proton Precession Magnetometer G-19 Geometric. Total magnetic field data were acquired as a 3-m grid station along survey lines spaced 3-m apart. Total magnetic field anomalies were calculated by diurnal and International Geomagnetic Reference Field corrections. To clarify the position of objects causing the anomalies, analytical signals and tilt derivative filters have been applied to the total magnetic field anomalies. The method found several structures with contrasting physical properties to those of the surrounding material. Both filters were able to identify the presence of circular, elongated, and square anomalies around the Indrapatra site. The archaeological interpretation of such structures is in terms of wells, canals, and road floors. The structures are made of limestone boulders buried within the uppermost sand layer. The burning process to cement the boulders causes their magnetic properties to be different in contrast to the layer of sand that covers them. Based on magnetic interpretation, three geoelectrical profiles were measured crossing the targeted objects using Supersting R8/IP 56 Electrode Electric Resistivity. Wenner configuration with 1-meter electrodes spacing was applied for a better model resolution. The inverted models of apparent resistivity data show an agreement with magnetic interpretation at shallow depth. The models also imaged the depth and geometry of the objects based on the electrical resistivity properties of subsurface materials. It is expected that the structures preserved tsunamigenic deposits, so the discovery of the structures will be able to contribute to further research on paleotsunami in Aceh.

The experimental and numerical investigation on thermal responses of passive thermal protected batteries in different packs from low to high discharge rates

Umit Nazli Temel,Ferhat Kilinc 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.7

This study contains experimental and numerical investigation of the shape effect of the pack on the performances of PCM (or GNP/PCM) based passive thermally protected battery packs. Also, the performances of the PCM and thermally enhanced GNP/PCM composite for battery thermal protection are compared from low to high discharge rates. The thermal response results show that the cylindrical pack performs worse than the rectangular pack in terms of the maximum temperature and maximum temperature difference performance criteria. For the maximum temperature restriction criteria, 7 % GNP/RT44 composite, that has enhanced thermal conductivity, performs better at first, but then its performance deteriorates compared to RT44 depending on the increase of its viscosity. It was determined that 7 % GNP/RT-44 extend the effective protection times by 95.8 %, 73.3 % and 28.0 % at the discharge rates of 4.4 W, 6.6 W and 8.8 W, respectively.

Potential of four corn varieties at different harvest stages for silage production in Malaysia

        Muhamad Hazim Nazli,Ridzwan Abdul Halim,Amin Mahir Abdullah,Ghazali Hussin,Anjas Asmara Samsudin 아세아·태평양축산학회 2019 Animal Bioscience Vol.32 No.2

Objective: Apart from various climatic differences, corn harvest stage and varieties are two major factors that can influence the yield and quality of corn silage in the tropics. A study was conducted to determine the optimum harvest stage of four corn varieties for silage production in Malaysia. Methods: Corn was harvested at four growth stages; silking, milk, dough, and dent stages from four varieties; Sweet Corn hybrid 926, Suwan, breeding test line (BTL) 1 and BTL 2. Using a split plot design, the treatments were then analysed based on the plant growth performance, yield, nutritive and feeding values followed by a financial feasibility study for potential commercialization. Results: Significant differences and interactions were detected across the parameters suggesting varying responses among the varieties towards the harvest stages. Sweet Corn was best harvested early in the dough stage due to high dry matter (DM) yield, digestible nutrient, and energy content with low fibre portion. Suwan was recommended to be harvested at the dent stage when it gave the highest DM yield with optimum digestible nutrient and energy content with low acid detergent fibre. BTL 1 and BTL 2 varieties can either be harvested at dough or dent stages as the crude protein, crude fibre, DM yield, DM content, digestible nutrient and energy were not significantly different at either stage. Further financial analysis showed that only Sweet Corn production was not financially feasible while Suwan had the best financial appraisal values among the grain varieties. Conclusion: In conclusion, only the grain varieties tested had the potential for silage making according to their optimum harvest stage but Suwan is highly recommended for commercialization as it was the most profitable.

      • Social Perceptions of Breast Cancer by Women Still Undergoing or Having Completed Therapy: a Qualitative Study

Mermer, Gulengul,Nazli, Aylin,Ceber, Esin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.2

Background: Diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is a crisis situation which effects women's lives physically, socially and spiritually. Investigating women's perceptions of this disease is crucially important for treatment decisions. We therefore determined social perceptions and interpretations of women diagnosed with breast cancer during therapy and in the post-treatment period. Materials and Methods: In the study, focus group and in-depth interviews were made with women still undergoing or having completed breast cancer treatment. Some 25 women were included in the research. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the qualitative data obtained after the focus group and in-depth interviews. Results: Some of the women demonstrated positive perceptions towards accepting the disease, whereas others had emotions such as rebellion and anger. The loss of a breast is important with different interpretations. Conclusions: Women's acceptance or rebellion against the disease varies within their social interpretations after the treatment, as at the stage of diagnosis/treatment. All stages of breast cancer negatively affect the social life of the affected individual as much as her body. Nurses assume crucial roles in coping with these negative effects. Thus, it is necessary to know, and sociologically interpret, what is indicated by the information on what the negative effects concerning the disease are and how they are interpreted.

CONGRUENCE RELATIONS FOR THE FUNDAMENTAL UNIT WITH NEGATIVE NORM OF A REAL QUADRATIC FIELD

YAN LI,Nazli Yildiz Ikikardes,김대열 장전수학회 2021 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.31 No.2

In this note, we give some explicit congruence relations for the fundamental unit with negative norm of a real quadratic field, by elementary method. Our results extensively solve the remaining case of the main theorem of Zhang and Yue, which only considers the case that real quadratic field has odd ideal class number and its fundamental unit has positive norm.

      • Association of an LMP2 Polymorphism with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Multiple Myeloma

        Ozbas-Gerceker, Filiz,Bozman, Nazli,Kok, Selcuk,Pehlivan, Mustafa,Yilmaz, Mehmet,Pehlivan, Sacide,Oguzkan-Balci, Sibel Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.11

Hematological malignancies (HM) are a group of neoplasms derived from the cells of the bone marrow and lymphatic system. Genetic factors leading to susceptibility to HM have been investigated for years but little is known yet. Low molecular weight polypeptide (LMP) 2 and LMP7 genes are important subunits of the immunoproteasome and play significant role in antigen presentation. The polymorphisms of LMP genes have been reported to be risk factors for various types of diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of LMP2 and LMP7 polymorphisms with the occurrence of particular types of HM. A total of 132 patients with HM and 130 control subjects were investigated. No significant difference was obtained in the distribution of genotype and allele frequencies of LMP7 gene in HM patients and the control group. On the other hand, the prevalence of LMP2-AA genotype was found to be higher in acute myeolid leukemia (AML) patients while it was significantly lower in multiple myeloma (MM) cases than in the control subjects. Our results suggested that LMP7 could not be a risk factor for susceptibility to HM, whereas LMP2 polymorphisms could play a role in the development of AML and MM.
