Naonori TSUDA 계명대학교 산업경영연구소 2000 經營經濟 Vol.33 No.1
While pursuing profits, a traditional enterprise will pursue values such as contribution to community, business ethics, and quality of working life. These are human values. If you extend the definition of an organization to include what is called participatory enterprise or participatory organization, the definition would include such thins as co-determination enterprises, cooperatives, employee ownership enterprises, and non-profit, organizations. In addition to profits, these participatory organizations attach great importance to human values such as cooperation, equity, democracy, justice, solidarity, trust, and support. However, these participatory organizations are not all efficient because human values often conflict with efficiency. Stockholders rarely want to extend human values that conflict with the efficiency of an organization. In spite of this difficulty, there are many innovative participatory organizations with a high level of human values and efficiency How is it possible to create efficient participatory organizations? What are the roles of a support system including and incubator? Is it possible to measure human values? This study shows some examples of efficient participatory organizations and support organizations including venture capital. In addition, the study demonstrates a method of measuring human values.
