It is indispensible to cause vibration, noise and dust due to blasting and breaker operations. And, since the control of those is supposed to be extremely difficult, the claim of compensation for material and mental damages have been increased. Economically feasible blasting operation with controling vibration and noise can be achieved by the establishment of scienced-based plan, accurate operation and responsible inspection, and the application of efficient management system. And it also be remarked that the relevant law and regulation should be observed by the operator, and the law and regulation should be applied without prejudice by the authority. In addition, the public claim against operators should be investigated in detail and the prosecution should be made under the careful consideration of scientific and reasonable conception. It suggested that the operators, public and authorities should made great efforts to develop higher technology and to overcome the invasion of foreign construction market.

In order to get the precise blood pressure and pulse number in the cuffless status, the wrist wearable pulsimeter with a portable and small size apparatus using by Hall device is developed. The regression analysis of the pulse wave measured by the testing product of pulsimeter is conducted two equations of the blood pressure algorithm. The estimated values of blood pressure obtained by the cuffless pulsimeter during 5 s are compared with the practical values measured by electronic or mercury liquid blood pressure meters. The standard deviation of the estimated value and the practical value for the high blood pressure and the low blood pressure were 12.1 and 5.9, respectively, which have the neighborhood values of BP International Standard. The detail analysis of a pulse wave measured by cuffless wrist wearable detecting the changes of the magnetic field can be used to develop a new diagnostic algorithm of blood pressure applying for oriental medical apparatus like as the wrist wearable pulsimeter.
Genistein-Derivatives from <i>Tetracera scandens</i> Stimulate Glucose-Uptake in L6 Myotubes

<P>An EtOAc-soluble partition of the MeOH extract of a branch of <I>Tetracera scandens</I> (Dilleniaceae family) was subjected to a glucose-uptake assay, which led to the isolation and identification of five isoflavones of previously known structure namely, genistein (1), its derivatives 3′,5′-diprenylgenistein (2), 6,8-diprenylgenistein (3), derrone (4) and alpinumisoflavone (5). Of these, compounds 2—5 exhibited significant glucose-uptake activity in basal and insulin-stimulated L6 myotubes. The findings from adenosine monophosphate-activated kinase (AMPK) activation and glucose transport protein4 (GLUT4) and GLUT1 over-expression revealed certain characteristics of compounds 2—5. These compounds inhibited protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) activities with IC<SUB>50</SUB> values ranging from 20.63±0.17 to 37.52±0.31 μ<SMALL>M</SMALL>. No muscle cell toxicity was reported with compounds 3—5, while compounds 1 and 2 reduced muscle cell viability with IC<SUB>50</SUB> values of 34.27±0.35 and 18.69±0.19 μ<SMALL>M</SMALL>, respectively. It was concluded that <I>T. scandens</I> and its constituents exerted highly desirable activities on type 2 diabetes mellitus treatment since they significantly stimulated the uptake of glucose, AMPK phosphorylation, GLUT4 and GLUT1 mRNA expressions and PTP1B inhibition in L6 myotubes.</P>
게이트 Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT 와 Cedars 소프트웨어를 이용한 심근 기능 측정의 재현성

N/A Purpose: We investigated reproducibility of the quantification of left ventricular volume and ejection fraction, and grading of myocardial wall motion and systolic thickening when we used gated myocardial SPECT and Cedars quantification software. Materials and Nethods: We performed gated myocardial SPECT in 33 consecutive patients twice in the same position after Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT. We used 16 frames per cycle for the gatingof sequential Tc-99m-MTBI SPECT. After reconstruction, we used Cedars quantitative gated SPECT and calculated ventricular volume and ejection fraction (EF), Wall motion was graded using 5 point score. Wall thickening was graded using 4 point score. Coefficient of variation for re-examination of volume and fraction were calculated. Kappa values (k-value) for assessing reproducibility of wall motion or wall thickening were calculated. Results: Enddiastolic volumes (EDV) ranged from 58 mi to 248 ml (122 ml +/- 42 ml), endsystolic volumes (ESV) from 20 mi to 174 mi (65 ml +1- 39 ml), and EF from 20% to 68% (51% +/- 14%). Geometric mean of standard deviations of 33 patients was 5.0 ml for EDV, 3.9 ml for ESV and 1.9% for EF. Their average differences were not different from zero (p>0.05). k-value for wall motion using 2 consecutive images was 0.76 (confidence interval: 0.71-0.81). k-value was 0.87 (confidence interval:0.83-0.90) for assessment of wall thickening. Conclusion: We concluded that quantification of functional indices, assessment of wall motion and wall thickening using gated Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT was reproducible and we could use this method for the evaluation of short-acting drug effect.
Chemical Ripening of AgBr Octahedral Microcrystals

The results of the chemical sensitization study of octahedral AgBr microcrystals with the sizes 0.75 - 1.3 ㎛ in various modes of ripening are presented. Spontaneous sensitization (thermal ripening of emulsions without photographically active additives) has been investigated. The spontaneous sensitization is effected regardless of the type of gelatins during synthesis and chemical sensitization. The influence of both the pBr value of chemical ripening and the adsorption of stabilizers and gold ions on photographic characteristics of emulsions in modes of spontaneous and sulfur sensitization have been studied. The data obtained are compared with the results of the similar investigations carried out with the emulsions containing cubic microcrystals, as well as tabular microcrystals. The peculiarities of photosensitivity centre formation in AgBr (111) microcrystals are discussed in terms of ionic conductivity change during chemical ripening.
