In this article, an exact analytical solution for mechanical buckling analysis of magnetoelectroelastic plate resting on pasternak foundation is investigated based on the third-order shear deformation plate theory. The in-plane electric and magnetic fields can be ignored for plates. According to Maxwell equation and magnetoelectric boundary condition, the variation of electric and magnetic potentials along the thickness direction of the plate is determined. The von Karman model is exploited to capture the effect of nonlinearity. Navier\'s approach has been used to solve the governing equations for all edges simply supported boundary conditions. Numerical results reveal the effects of (i) lateral load, (ii) electric load, (iii) magnetic load and (iv) higher order shear deformation theory on the critical buckling load have been investigated. These results must be the analysis of intelligent structures constructed from magnetoelectroelastic materials.

Human Epididymis Protein 4 Reference Intervals in a Multiethnic Asian Women Population
Mokhtar, N.M.,Thevarajah, M.,M.A., Noorazmi,M., Isahak Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.12
Background: Ovarian cancer is ranked as the fifth most common cause of cancer death in women. In Malaysia, it is the fourth most common cancer in females. CA125 has been the tumor marker of choice in ovarian cancer but its diagnostic specificity in early stages is only 50%. Hence, there is a critical need to identify an alternative tumor marker that is capable of detecting detect ovarian cancer at an early stage. HE4 is a new tumor marker proposed for the early diagnosis of ovarian cancer and disease recurrence. Currently, none of the normal ranges of HE4 quoted in the literature are based on data for a multiethnic Asian population. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine reference intervals for HE4 in an Asian population presenting in University Malaya Medical Centre, a tertiary reference hospital. Materials and Methods: 300 healthy women were recruited comprising 150 premenopausal and 150 postmenopausal women, aged from 20-76 years. All women were subjected to a pelvic ultrasonograph and were confirmed to be free from ovarian pathology on recruitment. Serum HE4 levels were determined by chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA, Abbott Architect). The reference intervals were determined following CLSI guidelines (C28-A2) using a non-parametric method. Results: The upper limits of the $95^{th}$ percentile reference interval (90%CI) for all the women collectively were 64.6 pmol/L, and 58.4 pmol/L for premenopausal) and 69.0 pmol/L for postmenopausal. The concentration of HE4 was noted to increase with age especially in women who were more than 50 years old. We also noted that our proposed reference limit was lower compared to the level given by manufacturer Abbott Architect HE4 kit insert (58.4 vs 70 pmol/L for premenopausal group and 69.0 vs 140 pmol/L in the postmenopausal group). The study also showed a significant difference in HE4 concentrations between ethnic groups (Malays and Indians). The levels of HE4 in Indians appeared higher than in Malays (p<0.05), while no significant differences were noted between the Malays and Chinese ethnic groups. Conclusions: More data are needed to establish a reference interval that will better represent the multiethnic Malaysian population. Probably a larger sampling size of equal representation of the Malay, Chinese, Indians as well as the other native ethnic communities will give us a greater confidence on whether genetics plays a role in reference interval determination.
A Powerful and Weakness Points for Gesture Recognition Techniques
Mokhtar Hasan,Pramod Mishra 한국멀티미디어학회 2010 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2010 No.-
Gesture recognition system plays major role to enable humans to interface with the machine in natural way without any mechanical devices and without using the normal input devices which are the keyboard and mouse and the mathematical equations will be the translator between the gestures and the telerobotic. Most recent researches are dedicated for that purpose, in this paper we try to make comparison study between some of the mostly used methods for gesture system and to put some foundation for building gesture recognition system.
Synthesis and characterization of CeO2 nanoparticles via hydrothermal route
Mokhtar Panahi-Kalamuei,Sakineh Alizadeh,Mehdi Mousavi-Kamazani,Masoud Salavati-Niasari 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.21 No.1
Cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles have been synthesized from (NH4)2Ce(NO3)6, ethylenediamine andhydrazine by a hydrothermal method. Ethylenediamine and hydrazine with pH management can controlthe particle growth and have an important role in the formation of nanoparticles. Various experimentalparameters were examined, such as the reaction temperature, the reaction time, and the molar ratios ofthe starting reagents. The as-synthesized products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM), scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), Fourier transforminfrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).
Vibration response and wave propagation in FG plates resting on elastic foundations using HSDT
Mokhtar Nebab,Hassen Ait Atmane,Riadh Bennai,Abdelouahed Tounsi,E.A. Adda Bedia 국제구조공학회 2019 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.69 No.5
This paper presents an analytical study of wave propagation in simply supported graduated functional plates resting on a two-parameter elastic foundation (Pasternak model) using a new theory of high order shear strain. Unlike other higher order theories, the number of unknowns and governing equations of the present theory is only four unknown displacement functions, which is even lower than the theory of first order shear deformation (FSDT). Unlike other elements, the present work includes a new field of motion, which introduces indeterminate integral variables. The properties of the materials are assumed to be ordered in the thickness direction according to the two power law distributions in terms of volume fractions of the constituents. The wave propagation equations in FG plates are derived using the principle of virtual displacements. The analytical dispersion relation of the FG plate is obtained by solving an eigenvalue problem. Numerical examples selected from the literature are illustrated. A good agreement is obtained between the numerical results of the current theory and those of reference. A parametric study is presented to examine the effect of material gradation, thickness ratio and elastic foundation on the free vibration and phase velocity of the FG plate.
