Kibaek KIM(Kibaek KIM),Minsoo KIM(Minsoo KIM),Jinwook HAN(Jinwook HAN) 한국유통과학회 2023 유통과학연구 Vol.21 No.4
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze Korean sports consumers’ intention to stay using online sports products and services through online sports distribution platforms or return to using sports facilities and services in person. Research design, data and methodology: This study set up two models measuring consumers’ recognition, attitude, and purchase intention toward online sports products and services based on involvement theory. An online survey was conducted and a total of 2,263 consumers participated in this study. Male participants were 1,256(55.5%) and female participants were 1,007(44.5%). Descriptive statistics were performed, and a path analysis was utilized to analyze the proposed model using SPSS 26 and SAS. Results: The results revealed two proposed models used in this study supported that consumers’ online sports product and service recognition leads to a positive attitude toward online sports products and services. Moreover, consumers’ positive online sports product and service attitudes were shown to lead to positive intentions to purchase online sports products and services. Conclusions: The findings revealed the recognition of consumers’ online sports products and services led to positive attitudes and behavioral intentions. Implications were provided by suggesting the sports industry stick to developing online sports products and services until the endemic of COVID-19 is declared.
Surface Intaglio Nanostructures on Microspheres of Gold-Cored Block Copolymer Spheres
Kim, Minsoo P.,Ku, Kang Hee,Kim, Hyeong Jun,Jang, Se Gyu,Yi, Gi-Ra,Kim, Bumjoon J. American Chemical Society 2013 Chemistry of materials Vol.25 No.21

The confined self-assembly of block copolymers (BCPs) can be used to generate hierarchically structured composite microspheres. In this study, microspheres of gold-cored BCP (Au-BCP) spheres were first produced from an evaporative toluene-in-water-emulsion in which polystyrene-b-poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P4VP) BCPs incorporated with Au precursors (AuCl4–) were dissolved in toluene. Interestingly, the addition of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) into the microspheres resulted in the selective extraction of Au precursors within the Au-BCP spheres near the surface of the microsphere because of the strong electrostatic attraction between the CTAB and Au precursors. Therefore, regular-patterned porous nanostructures on the surface of Au-BCP microspheres were formed, of which the size could be varied by controlling the molecular weight of the PS-b-P4VP polymers. In addition, the depth of the pores could be modulated independently by tuning the amounts of Au precursors that were incorporated into the Au-BCP spheres (λ). This method was then generalized using other additives (i.e., thiol-terminated molecules) that had a favorable interaction with the Au precursors, producing both controlled inner and surface morphologies of the microspheres. Pores at surface could be used to successfully load various metal nanoparticles, potentially making them useful in optical, catalytic, and drug-delivery or therapeutic applications.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

There are growing concerns regarding the safety of long-term treatment with opioids of patients with chronic noncancer pain. In 2017, the Korean Pain Society (KPS) developed guidelines for opioid prescriptions for chronic non-cancer pain to guide physicians to prescribe opioids effectively and safely. Since then, investigations have provided updated data regarding opioid therapy for chronic non-cancer pain and have focused on initial dosing schedules, reassessment follow-ups, recommended dosage thresholds considering the risk-benefit ratio, dosereducing schedules for tapering and discontinuation, adverse effects, and inadvertent problems resulting from inappropriate application of the previous guidelines. Herein, we have updated the previous KPS guidelines based on a comprehensive literature review and consensus development following discussions among experts affiliated with the Committee on Hospice and Palliative Care in the KPS. These guidelines may assist physicians in prescribing opioids for chronic non-cancer pain in adult outpatient settings, but should not to be regarded as an inflexible standard. Clinical judgements by the attending physician and patient-centered decisions should always be prioritized.
Electrochemical studies of molybdate-doped LiFePO4 as a cathode material in Li-ion batteries.
Kim, Ketack,Kam, Daewoong,Kim, Yeonjoo,Kim, Sinwoong,Kim, Minsoo,Kim, Hyun-Soo American Scientific Publishers 2013 Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Vol.13 No.5

The use of molybdate as a new anionic dopant that replaces phosphate in LiFePO4 was studied. When a small amount of molybdate (0.5 mol%) was used as a dopant, the olivine structure was maintained, while the lattice volume increased by 0.4%. The expanded volume facilitates ionic transfer, because of which the capacity of doped LiFePO4 at high current discharge rates is higher than that of pure LiFePO4. The discharge value increased by 25.2% at a charge rate of 5 C when the material was doped with 0.5 mol% molybdate ions. The slight expansion of the lattice volume in the olivine structure facilitates a fast redox reaction by lowering the charge transfer resistance. The current values from cyclic voltammetry indicate that the oxidation (charge) process of the cathode material is more improved than the corresponding reduction (discharge) process. Increasing the level of doping beyond 0.5 mol% had no effect on the results. At some discharge rates, the discharge capacity became worse. Because molybdate is divalent while phosphate is trivalent, a large number of molybdate ions in the lattice can exert considerable stress on the structure.

Gold-decorated block copolymer microspheres (BCP-microspheres) displaying various surface morphologies were prepared by the infiltration of Au precursors into polystyrene-b-poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P4VP) microspheres. The microspheres were fabricated by emulsifying the PS-b-P4VP polymers in chloroform into a surfactant solution in water, followed by the evaporation of chloroform. The selective swelling of the P4VP domains in the microspheres by the Au precursor under acidic conditions resulted in the formation of Au-decorated BCP-microspheres with various surface nanostructures. As evidenced by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements, dotted surface patterns were formed when microspheres smaller than 800 nm were synthesized, whereas fingerprint-like surface patterns were observed with microspheres larger than 800 nm. Au nanoparticles (NPs) were located inside P4VP domains near the surfaces of the prepared microspheres, as confirmed by TEM. The optical properties of the BCP-microspheres were characterized using UV–vis absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence lifetime measurements. A maximum absorption peak was observed at approximately 580 nm, indicating that Au NPs are densely packed into P4VP domains on the microspheres. Our approach for creating Au-NP-hybrid BCP-microspheres can be extended to other NP systems such as iron-oxide or platinum NPs. These precursors can also be selectively incorporated into P4VP domains and induce the formation of hybrid BCP-microspheres with controlled surface nanostructures.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

Not only Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) within a company but also business-to-business integration (B2Bi) should be achieved for companies to collaborate seamlessly through the Internet. There have been great efforts in this area of EAI and B2Bi, resulting in lots of solutions in the market. However, EAI and B2Bi systems have been designed and operated in independent platforms and environments causing a serious problem of integrating EAI and B2Bi systems. In this paper we have proposed a business integration platform for connecting EAI and B2Bi systems in a uniform architecture and also coping with changes in business environments. In the integration platform proposed in this work, collaboration processes between B2B companies can be performed using Web Services technology widely considered as B2B integration platform. Especially, we have defined basic business execution elements based on a thorough analysis of various business integration standards and developed an efficient and extensible business process engine for B2B collaboration process management. A Web-based order processing system is developed for validation of our integration platform. It is expected that the level of B2B collaboration can be enhanced using the integration platform and furthermore it will contribute to more collaborative B2B commerce.
