Three dimensional finite elements modeling of FGM plate bending using UMAT
Messaoudi, Khalid,Boukhalfa, Abdelkrim,Beldjelili, Youcef Techno-Press 2018 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.66 No.4
The purpose of the present paper is to study the bending and free vibration of Functionally Graded Material (FGM) plate using user-defined material subroutine on the finite element software ABAQUS. The FGM plate is simply supported and subjected to sinusoidal and uniform load. The Poisson's ratio is kept constant. The results obtained compared to those available in the literature show the convergence, the exactitude and the efficiency of the method used with various power index of the materials.
Optimal control of parabolic pde by a combined adomian/alienor model
MESSAOUDI NADIA AMEL,MANSEUR SALAH,BLIDIA MOSTAFA 장전수학회 2017 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.27 No.3
This article presents a numerical solution to the optimal control problem governed by linear parabolic differential equation (PDE), generally solved by direct numerical method. It consists in choosing the controls in a finite dimension space (piecewise constants) by the discretization of the time interval. The optimal control problem is approached by an optimisation problem under constraints. To solve this problem, two combined mathematical methods are used : the Adomian decomposition method and the Alienor method. Firstly, the Adomian method is used to solve the PDE by explicitly expressing the solution as convergence series; depending on controls and requires no discretization in space and in time, contrary to numerical methods. Secondly, the Alienor method reduces the problem of minimization of a function with several variables to a function with one variable, unlike the iterative optimisation methods which require initialization of the initial vector. An application of this Adomian /Alienor combined model to solve the PDE is performed, and results are compared with those obtained by Adomian/Levenberg-Marquardt method.

Vol.17 No.-
Vol.12 No.-

This work was designed to study the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide photolysis on the degradation ofmalathion pesticide in an aqueous medium. Experiments were performed in a static reactor with a lowpressuremercury vapor lamp at initial organophosphorus concentrations of 10 3. The first resultobtained showed that the system H2O2/UV can completely oxidize the organophosphorus compound. The oxidation yields obtained using the static reactor depended on the reaction time, the initialconcentration of H2O2, and the initial pH solution. However, the oxidation efficiency may be reduced bythe presence of radical traps in the reaction medium. Moreover, a model of the hydrogen peroxidephotocatalysis is also presented in this paper. The use of experimental design and in particular theresponse surface methodology (RSM) in addition to the full factorial design allowed the determination ofthe influence of the simultaneous effects and interaction of the operating parameters on the performanceof the photo degradation Demim et al. Ecol. Eng. 57 (2013) 302; Ecol. Eng. 61 (2013) 426; Boudjema et al. Desalin. Water Treat. 1065. 10.1080/19443994.2015.449. Indeed, the operating parameters studied inthis research work were the initial concentration of malathion, H2O2 catalyst volume and the pH of thesolution. The results found showed that the application of the RSM allowed describing correctly theeffect of these three operating parameters on the treatment efficacy. The optimal parameter valuesgiving a maximum yield (100%) were determined.

The Nuclear Fuel Cycle Code “ANICCA” has been developed by SCK•CEN to answer particular questions about the Belgian nuclear fleet. However, the wide range of capabilities of the code make it also useful for international or regional studies that include advanced technologies and strategies of cycle. This paper shows the main features of the code and the facilities that can be simulated. Additionally, a comparison between several codes and ANICCA has also been made to verify the performance of the code by means of a simulation proposed in the last NEA (OECD) Benchmark Study. Finally, a case study of the Belgian nuclear fuel cycle phase out has been carried out to show the possible impact of the transmutation of the minor actinides on the nuclear waste by the use of an Accelerator Driven System also known as ADS. Results show that ANICCA accomplishes its main purpose of simulating the scenarios giving similar outcomes to other codes. Regarding the case study, results show a reduction of more than 60% of minor actinides in the Belgian nuclear cycle when using an ADS, reducing significantly the radiotoxicity and decay heat of the high-level waste and facilitating its management.
