      • Effect of fly ash and GGBS combination on mechanical and durability properties of GPC

        Mallikarjuna Rao, Goriparthi,Gunneswara Rao, T.D. Techno-Press 2017 Advances in concrete construction Vol.5 No.4

Geopolymer is a sustainable concrete, replaces traditional cement concrete using alternative sustainable construction materials as binders and alkaline solution as alkaline activator. This paper presents the strength characteristics of geopolymer concrete (GPC) developed with fly ash and GGBS as binders, combined Sodium silicate ($Na_2SiO_3$) and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution as alkaline activators. The parameters considered in this research work are proportions of fly ash and GGBS (70-30 and 50-50), curing conditions (Outdoor curing and oven curing at $600^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours), two grades of concrete (GPC20 and GPC50). The mechanical properties such as compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength along with durability characteristics were determined. For studying the durability characteristics of geopolymer concrete 5% $H_2SO_4$ solutions was used and the specimens were immersed up to an exposure period of 56 days. The main parameters considered in this study were Acid Mass Loss Factor (AMLF), Acid Strength Loss Factor (ASLF) and products of degradation. The results conclude that GPC with sufficient strength can be developed even under Outdoor curing using fly ash and GGBS combination i.e., without the need for any heat curing.

Existence of Partially Degenerate Electrical Transport in Intermetallic Cu2SnSe3 Thermoelectric System Sintered at Different Temperatures

        K. Gurukrishna,H. R. Nikhita,S. M. Mallikarjuna Swamy,Ashok Rao 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.8

A detailed investigation on the temperature dependent electrical properties of Cu2SnSe3system, synthesized via conventionalsolid-state reaction at different sintering temperatures are presented in this communication. All the samples exhibit degeneratesemiconducting nature at low temperatures. The existence of small polarons and hence electron–phonon interactionsare confirmed at temperatures below 400 K. A transition was observed from degenerate to non-degenerate semiconductingbehaviour at high temperatures (T > 400 K). The study confirms the unusual transition in electrical resistivity as well asthermopower at high temperatures in all the compounds, demonstrating the existence of minority carrier excitation alongwith temperature-triggered ionisation of the defects. The transport behaviour is further supported by an upward movementof Fermi level away from the valence band. Highest weighted mobility of 8.2 cm2V−1 s−1 at 673 K was obtained for thesample sintered at 1073 K. A considerable decrease in electrical resistivity with increase in temperature (T > 400 K) hasdriven the power factor to increase exponentially, thereby achieving highest value of 188 μV/mK2 (at 673 K) for the samplesintered at 673 K.

      • A Comprehensive Literature Study on Precision Agriculture: Tools and Techniques

Bh., Prashanthi,A.V. Praveen, Krishna,Ch. Mallikarjuna, Rao International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.12

Due to digitization, data has become a tsunami in almost every data-driven business sector. The information wave has been greatly boosted by man-to-machine (M2M) digital data management. An explosion in the use of ICT for farm management has pushed technical solutions into rural areas and benefited farmers and customers alike. This study discusses the benefits and possible pitfalls of using information and communication technology (ICT) in conventional farming. Information technology (IT), the Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics are discussed, along with the roles of Machine learning (ML), Artificial intelligence (AI), and sensors in farming. Drones are also being studied for crop surveillance and yield optimization management. Global and state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) agricultural platforms are emphasized when relevant. This article analyse the most current publications pertaining to precision agriculture using ML and AI techniques. This study further details about current and future developments in AI and identify existing and prospective research concerns in AI for agriculture based on this thorough extensive literature evaluation.

Synthesis of quinozilinium fluoroborate salts from harmine

        Sivanath Musunuri,Reddymasu Sreenivasulu,Kit‑Kay Mak,Mallikarjuna Rao Pichika,Mandava Venkata Basaveswara Rao 한국탄소학회 2021 Carbon Letters Vol.31 No.2

Molecules possessing harmine moiety are reported to exhibit marked fungicidal and bactericidal activities. In this study, various quinozilinium tetrafluoroborate salts were synthesized using acylic and cyclic oxoketene dithioacetals followed by cycloaromatization from Harmine. All of these synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, Mass and CHN analysis. This methodology would find wide usage in the preparation of indolo quinozilinium -based library of small molecules useful for medicinal chemistry and in drug discovery.

The Clinical Effects of Synsepalum dulcificum: A Review

        Kaki B. Swamy,Suwaibah Abd Hadi,Muniandy Sekaran,Mallikarjuna Rao Pichika 한국식품영양과학회 2014 Journal of medicinal food Vol.17 No.11

Synsepalum dulcificum or the ‘‘miracle fruit’’ is well known for its taste-modifying ability. The aim of this review was to assess the published medically beneficial as well as potential characteristics of this fruit. A search in three databases, including PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, was made with appropriate keywords. The resulting articles were screened in different stages based on the title, abstract, and content. A total of nine articles were included in this review. This review summarized the findings of previously published studies on the effects of miracle fruit. The main studied characteristic of the fruit was its effect on the taste receptors, resulting in the sweet sensation when substances with acidic content were ingested. This effect was shown to be related to a glycoprotein called ‘‘miraculin.’’ Other beneficial characteristics of this fruit were its antioxidant and anticancer abilities that are due to the various amides existing in the miracle fruit. Apart from the above, the other observed effect of this fruit was its antidiabetic effect that was tested in rats. Further studies should be conducted to establish the findings. The miracle fruit can be a healthy additive due to its unique characteristics, including sour taste sensation modification as well as its antioxidant and antidiabetic effects.
