Solar Sail propulsion has been validated in space (IKAROS, 2010) and soon several more solar-sail propelled spacecraft will be flown. Using sunlight for spacecraft propulsion is not a new idea. First proposed by Frederick Tsander and Konstantin Tsiolkovsky in the 1920’s, NASA’s Echo 1 balloon, launched in 1960, was the first spacecraft for which the effects of solar photon pressure were measured. Solar sails reflect sunlight to achieve thrust, thus eliminating the need for costly and often very-heavy fuel. Such “propellantless” propulsion will enable whole new classes of space science and exploration missions previously not considered possible due to the propulsive-intense maneuvers and operations required.

Gradually recent automatic systems require how to manipulate all shared internal resources of system including components manufacturing equipments. Especially practical operation schedulings of manufacturing are gradually inevitable procedures in dynamic industrial environments. We suggest and evaluate a dynamic scheduling rule of machine and material handling system for on-line operation in job shop type FMS. Because alternating status should be included in operation scheduling procedures effectively and without delay in dynamic industrial environments, the mutual interaction between the machine operation scheduling and AGV dispatching rule was also studied to be based on simulation. This study compared the performance of the evaluation which was obtained from Dynamic Scheduling of FMS, and developed the Priority Rule Matrix for switching mechanism in dynamic environment by using those results.
A Philosophy of Cave Conservation
Kermode, Les The Speleological Society 1998 Journal of the speleological society of korea Vol.7 No.2
Conservation is the optimum sustained use of natural resources; therefore, cave conservation must provide not only for the protection of the character, decoration and biota of caves, but also for the means whereby people might enjoy and understand the caves that are their heritage. A cave is a natural subterranean cavity into which a man can enter to a point where daylight cannot be seen. Caves are not only interesting physical entities that provide distinctive sensory and perceptual experiences and invoke a variety of responses, but they also provide unique opportunities for scientific study. Speleology is the study of caves, and in New Zealand it attracts workers from many disciplines of the universities and government research establishments.(omitted)
