        Destination Loyalty Towards Bali

LEMY, Diena Mutiara,NURSIANA, Adinoto,PRAMONO, Rudy Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.12

The focus of this research was on Bali, Indonesia as an international tourist destination. The survey strategy involved self-administered questionnaires distributed to collect data and information supporting this research. The sampling method was non-probability convenience purposive sampling, which means that only those respondents who had visited Bali as a destination for more than two times for their holiday by the time the research was conducted were eligible to fill in the questionnaires. There were 300 questionnaires distributed, only 254 of which were valid. Interview was also conducted for data collection in this research. The structural equation modelling approach was used to analyze the data obtained from respondents, who had visited Bali at least two times. The outcomes of this research reveal a positive influence of push and pull motivational factors on tourist satisfaction. Moreover, a positive, significant correlation between satisfaction and destination loyalty can be seen in this research. With the aim to sustain and enhance destination competitiveness, the results of this research will be beneficial for stakeholders of Bali as a destination. This study helps stakeholders identify push and pull motivational factors in order to better prepare marketing strategies and utilize indicators of push and pull motivation that affect tourists' experience during their stay.

Structural and Molecular Orbital Properties of Some Boroxine Derivatives-A Theoretical Study

Lemi Türker,Selçuk Gümüş,Taner Atalar 대한화학회 2009 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.30 No.10

In the present study, firstly, the variations of the geometric parameters induced by different substituents on boroxine skeleton (symmetrically H, CH3, Cl, F, NO2 substituted boroxines) are investigated by using B3LYP/6-31G(d,p), RHF/6-31G(d,p), and MP2/6-31G(d,p) levels of the theory. The second objective is to estimate the substituent effect on the molecular aromaticity of boroxine derivatives using energetic and NICS criteria. Moreover, the effects of different theoretical levels on NICS values have been investigated in a systematic approach. Lastly, a rotational analysis has been performed to investigate the effect of rotation around the B-Me and B-NO2 bonds on total energy of the system. It has been found that electron withdrawing substituents contribute the aromaticity of boroxine affirmatively. Conversely, electron donors make the system less aromatic. Also, the theoretical vibrational spectra for these boroxine derivatives are presented and compared with the experimental data from the literature.

Trade Liberalization and Change in Poverty Status in Rural Ethiopia: What are the Links?

Adugna Lemi 한국국제경제학회 2012 International Economic Journal Vol.26 No.4

The impacts of trade liberalization on poverty status of farm households in Africa often come through its effects on prices, government revenues, and employment, among other things. For the case of Ethiopia, the main channel through which trade liberalization affects farm households is changes in the prices of inputs and outputs. The aim of this study is to empirically examine the impacts of trade reform on poverty status in rural Ethiopia. The results show that, although households’ resource endowment had consistent and significant improvement impacts, trade liberalization had mixed effects on change in poverty status. As a result of trade liberalization, contrary to expectation, changes in the prices of cash crops (i.e. chat and coffee) had increased the probability of remaining poor and falling into poverty. On the other hand, changes in the relative prices of staple food crops (i.e. teff and wheat), together with access to credit and schools, had increased the probability of escaping poverty and remaining above the poverty line

Foreign Direct Investment, Host country Productivity and Export: The Case of U.S. and Japanese Multinational Affiliates

Adugna Lemi 중앙대학교 경제연구소 2004 Journal of Economic Development Vol.29 No.1

The literature on the transfer of technology from FDI to host country firms is growing rapidly. Most of the studies find that there are positive spillover effects from FDI flow to host country firms in advanced economies. The result for the case of FDI recipient developing economies is mixed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role that foreign direct investment from the U.S. and Japan plays in affecting developing countries’ productivity, and export. Trade and production dataset by industrial groups and disaggregated U.S. and Japanese FDI data are used to empirically test presence of spillover effects on labor productivity and export. The results of the study show that positive productivity effects from U.S. and Japanese FDI firms are not empirically supported for the case of sample developing countries. The presence of FDI firms from all source countries and the number of U.S. total FDI and U.S. manufacturing FDI firms increase exports of host countries to the rest of the world. On the other hand, productivity is enhanced by foreign portfolio investment, availability of skilled manpower, capital intensity of industries and the number of bilateral investment treaties signed by host countries. Official development assistance and official aid have significantly negative effect on host country productivity, value added and export.

TG Index, its Graphical Matrix Representation and Application on Polyenes

Selçuk Gümüş,Lemi Türker 대한화학회 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.5

A novel topological index (TG Index) has been introduced. The graphical matrix representation of the TG index includes the use of directed subgraphs for the first time in graph theory literature. The application of the TG index on certain properties of polyenes yielded very well correlation data.

Effectiveness of anchorage with temporary anchorage devices during anterior maxillary tooth retraction: A randomized clinical trial

        Stéphane Barthélemi,Alban Desoutter,Fatoumata Souaré,Frédéric Cuisinier 대한치과교정학회 2019 대한치과교정학회지 Vol.49 No.5

Objective: This study evaluated the efficiency of anchorage provided by temporary anchorage devices (TADs) in maxillary bicuspid extraction cases during retraction of the anterior teeth using a fixed appliance. Methods: Patients aged 12 to 50 years with malocclusion for which bilateral first or second maxillary bicuspid extractions were indicated were included in the study and randomly allocated to the TAD or control groups. Retraction of the anterior teeth was achieved using skeletal anchorage in the TAD group and conventional dental anchorage in the control group. A computed tomography (CT) scan was performed after alignment of teeth, and a second CT scan was performed at the end of extraction space closure in both groups. A three-dimensional superimposition was performed to visualize and quantify the maxillary first molar movement during the retraction phase, which was the primary outcome, and the stability of TAD movement, which served as the secondary outcome. Results: Thirty-four patients (17 in each group) underwent the final analysis. The two groups showed a significant difference in the movement of the first maxillary molars, with less significant anchorage loss in the TAD group than that in the control group. In addition, TAD movement showed only a slight mesial movement on the labial side. On the palatal side, the mesial TAD movement was greater. Conclusions: In comparison with conventional dental anchorage, TADs can be considered an efficient source of anchorage during retraction of maxillary anterior teeth. TADs remain stable when correctly placed in the bone during the anterior tooth retraction phase.
