      • Sauchinone Suppresses Pro-inflammatory Mediators by Inducing Heme Oxygenase-1 in RAW264.7 Macrophages

        <P>Sauchinone, a biologically active lignan isolated from the roots of <I>Saururus chinensis</I> (L<SMALL>OUR</SMALL>.) B<SMALL>AILL</SMALL>. (Saururaceae), is reported to exert a variety of biological activities, such as hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory actions and inhibitory effects on bone resorption. In this study, we investigated the effect of sauchinone in suppressing cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression, leading to a reduction in COX-2-derived prostaglandin E<SUB>2</SUB> (PGE<SUB>2</SUB>) and iNOS-derived nitric oxide (NO) production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. Present study also demonstrates the effects of sauchinone in inducing heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression and an increase in heme oxygenase (HO) activity in RAW264.7 macrophages. The effects of sauchinone on LPS-induced PGE<SUB>2</SUB>, NO, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interlukine-1β (IL-1β) production were partially reversed by the HO-1 inhibitor Tin protoporphyrin was also seen in this study. In addition, we found that treatment with extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) inhibitor (PD98059) reduced sauchinone-induced HO-1 expression. Sauchinone also increased ERK phosphorylation. These results suggest that sauchinone inhibits pro-inflammatory mediators through expression of anti-inflammatory HO-1 <I>via</I> ERK pathway.</P>

      • 은어, Plecoglossus altivelis 표지개체의 실내사육

        우리나라 담수역에서 중요한 어업자원의 하나인 은어의 표시 및 표지효과에 관하여 실험한 결과, 표시 및 표지방법별 효과는 Dart and capsule tag에 의한 부착이 가장 좋았으며 실내사육에 의한 표지의 찰락 및 폐사율은 각각 4.0% 및 22.0%였다. 표시 및 표지방법별 성장은 실험개시시 각구 모두 2.0 ±0.1 g이던 치어가 실험종료시에는 표지개체가 34.4 ±3.7 g, 기름지느러미 절단개체가 35.2±2.2 g, 꼬리지느러미 절단개체가 38.6±2.8g 그리고 대조구가 39.4 ±2.1 g으로 성장하였다. Tagging method and mortalities were investigated to obtain the basic data for the effective release techique of sweetfish, Plecoglossus altivelis. Tagged and untagged P. altivelis were reared for 90 days in the laboratory. Dart and capsule tag was used as tag material and amputations of adipose fin and caudal fin were used as marking. The growth, mortality and falling rate of tags of the tagged group were examined, and the results were compared with those of untagged control group.

        The purpose of this study is to provide some basic data which can be helpful for improving the methods of mathematics teaching-learning emphasizing the affective factors by investigating the effect on affective characteristics and mathematical problem solving ability of the students on the elementary school sixth grade. In order to achieve these purpose, the following research problems were set up for the present study: The results of this study are as follows: First, it was appeared that there was not any difference on attitude on mathematics, belief, self-confidence and the degree of mathematical problem solving ability by sex. Second, it was appeared that there was some statistical meaningful difference on attitude on mathematics, belief, self-confidence and the degree of mathematical problem solving ability according to high middle low ability on mathematics which the students think that they have. Based on the results of this study, I'd like to give some suggestions as followings to provide some help to teaching and learning mathematics. First, the succeeding studies are needed by selecting different population from the population of this study, classifying low-ranking factors consisting of affective characteristics differently from this study, compounding each low-ranking factors in various manners like using new items, etc. Second, the succeeding studies are needed in this part, because what mathematical belief teachers have mathematics can have an effect on students' mathematical belief and action as well as on teachers' thinking process and action in the class. Third, the succeeding studies are needed to develop concrete field study and program which can be helpful for improving actually students' affective behavior characteristics in school field.

        This study presents the application of a method in just In Time by the singleminute exchange of die(SMED) system and real example. JIT calls for small lots and frequent production runs. So, the setup time are more required in normal operating environment. Set up reduction is a key aspect of Just In Time since it supports reductions in manufacturing lead times and inventories. The SMED system in a technique used to reduce machine set up time. The SMED system is to increase the productivity of machines by reducing their idle time and to reduce machine set up time.

      • 두토막눈썹참갯지렁이, Perinereis aibuhitensis의 먹이별 성장과 적정 공급량

        한국산 갯지렁이류 중에서 산업적으로 중요한 두토막눈썹참갯지렁이의 양식기법 개발에 관한 생물학적 기초자료를 얻기 위하여 먹이별 성장과 적정 먹이공급량을 조사한 결과, 조단백질 45%인 반죽사료에서 0.79%의 일간성장률과 99.0%의 생존율을 보여 가장 좋았다. 또한 먹이의 적정공급량은 사육 갯지렁이의 수용체중 3%와 6% 공급구에서 일간 성장률과 생존율이 각각 0.77%, 90.0%와 1.00%, 83.3%였으며, 저질내 황화수량은 12% 공급구에서 0.237 ㎎/g으로 가장 높았다. This study was conducted to determine the growth rate on various kinds of feed and optimum feeding rate of Perinereis aibuhitensis in the laboratory culture. On various feeds such as artificial eel feed, minced meat of sand smelt(Sillago sihama)and sea mustard (Undaria pinnatifida), the highest survival and growth rates of P. aibuhitensis were obtained when they were fed on artificial eel feed with 90% of survival rate and 0.79% of daily growth rate, while lowest performance on sea mustard.

        친수성 Polyvinylsiloxane 인상재의 putty와 light body의 결합강도

        Polyvinylsiloxane is the most accurate and dimensionally stable material among the dental impression materials which replicate the teeth and oral tissues. There are two methods for taking impressions with the polyvinylsiloxane: one step simultaneous polymerization; and putty/wash two step reline technique. The purpose of this study was to evaluate tensile bond strength between putty and wash material under the conditions of contamination with saliva or water at taking impression by putty/wash technique. The materials used in this study were 4 hydrophilic polvinylysiloxane impression materials of putty and light body type(Perfect-F, Handae Chemical, Korea; Contrast, VOCO, Germany; Exaflex and Examix, GC, Japan; Express and Imprint Ⅱ, 3M, U.S.A.). First, putty material filled in one perforated metal mold with diameter of 15 ㎜ and height of 19 ㎜ was set, and it was bonded with light body material filled in other paired metal mold before setting. Tensile bond strength was measured at a cross-head speed of 300 ㎜/min by universal testing machine (Instron 6022, Instron Co., U.K.) after 10 minutes from the joining two mold in order to set completely. As results, tensile bond strength of Contrast, Examix and Perfect-F showed no significant difference with control group on contamination with saliva or water, and it showed cohesive failure in the light body. However, Imprint Ⅱ showed the highest strength among these tested materials and showed adhesive failure at 5 specimens in the case of contamination with saliva and 4 specimens with water. From the results of this study, each product use possible cross bond and the tensile bond strength of some materials showed lower value on contamination with saliva.

      • 갯지렁이, Perinereis aibuhitensis의 재생력을 이용한 양식 산업화

        한국산 갯지렁이류 중에서 산업적으로 가장 중요한 청충의 양식기법 개발에 관한 기초자료를 얻기 위하여 수온별 체중별로 청충의 충체를 prostomium에서 1/4, 2/4 및 3/4부분으로 절단하여 재생상태를 조사한 결과, 절단된 부위에서 pygidium재생이 확인되었다. 수온별 청충의 재생은 13 ±1℃ 구에서 대형개체(2.5 ±0.4g)의 2/4절단구에서 2체절이 재생되었고 소형개체 (1.0 ±0.2g)에서는 3/4절단구에서는 3체절만이 재생됨으로써 저수온구에서는 재생효과가 없었으며 생존율 또한 저조하였다. 한편 20 ±1℃의 고수온 실험구의 경우는 전실험구에서 2~6개의 체절이 증가함으로써 청충의 재생에는 수온이 크게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. This study was conducted to develop the raising techniques of Perinereis aibuhitensis and focused on regeneration and survival rate. According to the results of experiment on regeneration of P. aibuhitensis, survival rates were very low. However, only at high water temperature, 20℃ or above, they produced the new segments, although the survival rate was low.

      • 실내사육한 갯지렁이, Perinereis aibuhitensis의 성숙개체 출현과 월령의 관계

        한국산 갯지렁이류 중에서 산업적으로 가장 중요한 청충의 양식기법 개발에 관한 생물학적 기초자료를 얻기위하여 성숙개체의 출현과 월령과의 관계를 조사한 결과, 자연 광주기하에서 야외사육한 생식형과 출현은 음력 그믐으로써 31%의 부출율을 보였고 실내수조의 경우는 37%의 부출율을 나타냈으며, 20℃에서 가온사육한 실험구에서는 야외 및 실내수조 부출율이 30.0%와 26.7%를 각각 나타냄으로써 생식형의 출현은 음력 그믐부터 시작되었다. 또한 LD cycle 12 : 12인 명암역전구에서는 24%의 부출율을 보였다. In order to obtain the basic biological data for the effective seed production of the polychaete, Perinereis aibuhitensis the influence of environmental factors such as lunar cycle and water temperature on swarming heteronereid was investigated. Main spawning period was from July through September, and mean diameter of mature eggs was 220㎛. Spent males and females died immediately after spawning. Occurrence rates of epitoky of P. aibuhitensis reared in the natural photoperiod group and indoor photoperiod group were 37.0% and 26.7% respectively during whole experimental period.

      • 실험실 사육에 의한 갯지렁이, Perinereis aibuhitensis의 수용밀도와 성장

        우리나라 연안 간석지에서 가장 중요한 양식 대상종의 하나인 갯지렁이의 육상양식수조에서 고밀도 양식에 관한 조사는 보고된 바 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 갯지렁이의 양식 기술개발 연구의 일환으로 실내 수조에서 갯지렁이를 수용밀도별로 사육하며 적정밀도를 구명한 결과를 요약하면, 실험에 사용한 갯지렁이 체중은 평균 0.71 ± 0.12 g이었다. 또한 밀도별 수용개체는 1,000 ㎝당 40마리에서 400마리까지 40마리 간격으로 10개의 실험구를 설정하여 사육한 결과, 50마리 이하 수용구에서 일간 성장율 0.4%이상을 나타냈으며 실험구의 밀도별 생존율은 최초수용밀도 80마리 이하 구에서 80.0%이상을 보였다. Experiment of stocking density and growth of the polychaete, Perinereis aibuhitensis in the indoor tank by feeding eel artificial food was conducted. In the density experiment of 40 ∼ 400 individuals/1000 ㎤, the lower density group of P. aibuhitensis in the tank showed higher growth and survival rate.
